------------

Race 1 - Col’s Vinyl & Canvas/Haack Transport QTIS Class 2 Handicap - 900 metres
1st - DIAMOND CROSSING 2nd - FINAL THOUGHT - 3rd LION ROYALE - 4TH GENERAL JAKE

At the 450 metres DIAMOND CROSSING (D. Crossland) shifted in and inconvenienced LET’S TWIST AGAIN (I. Toward), which in turn shifted in and hampered YAKKA YAKKA (E. Kowald), which was steadied. D. Crossland was admonished and advised to exercise more care.

Race 2 – Past Brothers League Club Maiden Plate - 1100 metres
1st - NAVEED 2nd - KAVA 3rd - LIL’ MISS INNOCENT 4th TACTICAL STAR

KON TIKI ROSE was a late withdrawal, at 12.40 p.m., as the mare was injured en route to the course. No betting deductions were required.

FLYING RUSCAY (G. Kliese) was slow to get into stride and shifted out at the start, resulting in MISTI LIGHT (F. Edwards) shying outwards away from FLYING RUSCAY.

Apprentice P. D’Addona reported that LIL’ MISS INNOCENT hung out for the entire race.

Jockey L. Nelson was reprimanded for permitting ROCKETS OF GOLD to shift in near the 800 metres and inconvenience TACTICAL STAR (R. Ryan).

Race 3 - Dynamic Timbers Innisfail/Hanson Building Products Class 3 Plate - 1200 metres
1st - STALKING SHADOWS 2nd - JEWEL OF DANETREE 3rd - FUBUTU 4th - OUR ACE

Trainer Mr J. Petersen informed stewards that he had instructed G. Kliese to ride LUBERON in a rearward position, if possible.

JEWEL OF DANETREE (K. Brady) and FREMANTLE DOCTOR (L. Nelson) came together at the start.

In the early and middle stages SIN PENSARIO (B. Calkin) overraced.

Near the 900 metres FUBUTU (Apprentice C. McCallum) brushed the running rail.

Jockey P. Cullen reported that at about the 750 metres the hindquarters of HIDE IN THE JUNGLE had slipped, but he could offer no reason for this occurrence.

Shortly before the winning post SAN REMO FLYER (D. Armstrong) shifted out and momentarily inconvenienced SIN PENSARIO (B. Calkin).

When asked about the poor performance of HIDE IN THE JUNGLE, Jockey P. Cullen explained that his mount slipped near the 750 metres and from that point the mare failed to run on and was disappointing. The explanation was noted.

Race 4 - John Cole Toyota Johnstone River Open Handicap - 1200 metres
1st - STRICTLY FAST 2nd - JUNKETS 3RD - SNIP ‘N’ SEA 4th - SILVER PATRIOT

Jockey I. Toward, the rider of STONEY PLANET, reported that between the 800 metres and the 500 metres he was obliged to race in restricted room on the inside of SILVER PATRIOT (D. Crossland).

Jockey D. Crossland, the rider of SILVER PATRIOT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that at about the 100 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of STONEY PLANET (I. Toward), which was checked, lost its position and made contact with KENWOOD ALLEGRO (R. Ryan), which became unbalanced. Jockey Crossland was suspended from riding in races from midnight 15th October 2005, up to and including 27th October 2005 (3 NQ meetings).
