WEATHER - OVERCAST TRACK - DEAD RAIL - TRUE POSITION
RACE 1: FIRSTHOLME. COM H'CAP - 800M.
DIDIER, THRILL ME and COOL BANANA were all slow to begin.
Approaching the 200m., THRILL ME shifted out abruptly under pressure.
RACE 2: IPSWICH PRIDE H'CAP - 1200M.
Due to an office error, S. Katsidis was not shown in the racebook as the rider of SILVER THONGS.
FULL OF AWE was declared a late scratching at 9.10 a.m.. The explanation of trainer R. Heathcote for the late scratching was accepted.
FLAT pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event.
Approaching the 1000m., ZEPHYRIZE shifted out and made contact with HIVITE.
Nearing the 800m., ZEPHYRIZE had to be checked when tightened for room between VANIANT and LAMPLIGHTER, both of which shifted ground.
At the 800m., DAME TERRY improved up on to the heels of SILVER THONGS and had to be checked.
IRISH SON was momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
Near the 100m., SILVER THONGS was obliged to shift out abruptly to avoid the heels of the tiring DAME TERRY.
RACE 3: THE GREAT PLACE SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1000M.
ROARING COVE was tightened for room on jumping away between DE'JAVU SAINT and KATE CELESTE, both of which shifted ground.
SAHARA ROMANCE shifted out at the start and made heavy contact with PRINCESS MELINA.
BELLA DEANNA was slow to begin.
Making the home turn, KATE CELESTE laid in and made contact with ROARING COVE, which become unbalanced.
L. Deguara, rider of COVET LOVE, was severely reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift in after passing the 100m., taking DE'JAVU SAINT in on to ANASTASIA ROSE, which had to be steadied.
RACE 4: HERITAGE INVITATION H'CAP - 1666M.
TIGER MALT was tightened for room between REIGNETTE and MARQUIS, both of which shifted ground.
CERTAIN SOUND was slow to begin.
After passing the 50m., M. Bennett, rider of SNAADINI DESIGN, accidentally dropped his whip.
RACE 5: TRAVELAND IPSWICH H'CAP - ACRA JACARANDA STAYING SERIES FINAL - 2500M.
ST. COLUMBANS jumped away awkwardly.
NERVES OF STEEL and KELLINA were slow to begin.
GENERAL DERBY was held up for some distance in the straight.
MISCELLANEA shifted out abruptly over the concluding stages.
FLY BUYS was forced to race wide throughout the event.
RACE 6: ACRA JACARANDA STAYING SERIES FINAL - 2500M.
SEMI IMPOSING and PLACID REIGN were slow to begin.
Shortly after the start the saddle on BORRACHERA shifted forward, placing its rider at a disadvantage until near the 600m. where D. Griffin was dislodged after becoming unbalanced when retiring the gelding from the race.
Making the first turn, SEMI IMPOSING pulled hard.
RACE 7: IPSWICH DAY 1000 SOVEREIGNS H'CAP - 1350M.
GRAND ASPECT, which became fractious in the barriers, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and declared a late scratching at 4 p.m.. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on GRAND ASPECT were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 7 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 8 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets, applicable to successful wagers placed prior to the withdrawal time. Trainer D. Critch was advised that GRAND ASPECT would be required to pass a barrier test prior to its next race start.
MY PAL shifted out at the start and made contact with ROADINSKY..
GENTLE was tightened for room on jumping away between OVER SUBSCRIBED and KAAPTIVE DELIGHT, both of which shifted ground.
Near the 100m., FUTURE MASTER had to be steadied when tightened for room between OVER SUBSCRIBED and IRON ORE, which shifted in slightly.
IRON ORE pulled hard in the early and middle stages and was forced to race wide throughout the event.
ZUCCARO, which performed disappointingly, was inspected by the club's veterinary surgeon with no abnormalities reported other than a slow recovery rate. A swab sample was taken from ZUCCARO.
The club's veterinary surgeon reported that HICKEY PARK had sustained a laceration to the off hind leg.
RACE 8: YALUMBA H'CAP - 1350M.
The start of this event was delayed when the ambulance officers were required to attend to a barrier attendant who was injured at the start of race 7.
ROMANZA and EDUARDO were slow to begin.
MAKIN' TRACKS had to be checked off the heels of SUNHELA, which shifted in momentarily near the 1000m..
S. Katsidis, rider of EL GRECO, was obliged to stop riding the gelding with the whip when the gelding resented the use of it.
ALL WINNERS AND ZUCCARO WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
