Race 1: ITC, Racing on Sunday, 27 January 2012

Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on ROUBLE ROSE regarding its pre-race manners when proceeding to the barriers.
ELECTRA HEART proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse regarding its barrier manners.
NUGGET (R. Jamieson) was slow into stride and tailed the field throughout, proving uncompetitive. Trainer I. Duke was advised that NUGGET must trial to the stewards satisfaction prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination of NUGGET failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
THAT’S JERRY (G. Goold) was slow to begin.
Approaching the 600m, THAT’S JERRY commenced to hang out, failed to negotiate the home corner and ran very wide. Trainer P. Moncrieff was advised THAT’S JERRY must barrier trial to the stewards’ satisfaction prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination of THAT’S JERRY failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Nearing the home turn, AWESOME SIGHT (B. Appo) was momentarily held up and shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so shifted wider on the track, forcing ELECTRA HEART (J. Lloyd) wider on the track.
Near the 300m, PURE POETRY (M. McKenzie) and ROUBLE ROSE (D. Green) brushed.
Race 2: City Of Ipswich Maiden Plate – 1350m
1st – Grabthemoney’n’run 2nd – Ardrova 3rd – Royal Lake 4th – Court Habit
DON’T CRY FOR ME (Matthew Palmer) was slow into stride.
Approaching the 400m, ARDROVA (S. Bogenhuber) was momentarily held up between ROYAL LAKE (K. Yoshida) and FOR NOTHING (M. Cahill), which shifted out slightly.
Race 3: Channel 7 Maiden H'cap – 1500m
1st – Isavanger 2nd – Shesastad 3rd – Mocha Miss 4th – Le Bonx Chonx
Connections advised that blinkers have been added to the gear of MOCHA MISS and if circumstances permit, the horse would be ridden more forward today. The horse was ridden accordingly.
Prior to the start, LE BONX CHONX (L. Cassidy), which was kicked behind the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
DON’T SING PA (B. Appo) was slow into stride.
ISAVENGER (J. Lloyd) raced wide in the early part of the race.
DON’T SING PA commenced to hang out leaving the 700m and approaching the home turn shifted wider on the track, taking LE BONX CHONX wider, obliging L. Cassidy to take hold of LE BONX CHONX and shift back in across that horse’s heels. DON’T SING PA continued to hang out in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage.
DECOOLCAT (G. Goold) was inclined to hang out rounding the home corner and shifted wider in the straight under pressure. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse regarding its racing manners, particularly in the home straight.
Both BOLD STORY (R. Jamieson) and BROTHER ELVIS (G. Colless) raced wide throughout.
On return to scale, J. Lloyd reported that ISAVENGER was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn and in the straight.
Trainer L. Weston was advised that BOLD STORY, which performaned poorly, would be barred to non TAB meetings until the mare’s form at country venues shows improvement.
A post race veterinary examination of DON’T SING PA revealed soreness over the hind quarters. Trainer P. Duff was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
Race 4: XXXX Gold Class 1 H'cap – 1600m
1st – More Dust 2nd – Jamaican Dancer 3rd – Everything’s Set 4th – Harvey’s Loss
IVAN’S CHOICE (J. Stanley) was slow into stride.
CEE THE DRAGON (T. Harrison) was tightened for room on jumping away between SHIMAZU (A. Spinks) and JOH THE PAINTER (J. Byrne), both of which shifted ground.
A short distance after the start, SHIMAZU and MORE DUST (J. Lloyd) made heavy contact.
Leaving the 1400m, CEE THE DRAGON commenced to overrace and had to be steadied from the heels of SHIMAZU.
On entering the straight, MORE DUST was inclined to lay in under pressure for some distance.
Following this event, the track rating was downgraded to Slow 6.
Race 5: Schweppes Class 2 H'cap – 1350m
1st – Tanzina 2nd – Daads Order 3rd – King Capo 4th - Cashgah
TANZINA (S. Bogenhuber) and LILLYOFTHEVALLEY (Matthew Palmer) came together on jumping away.
Approaching the 800m, when the pace eased, FARMERWANTSAWIFE (L. Cassidy) had to be steadied from the heels of UNO JOKER (K. Yoshida). As a consequence, CASHGAH (J. Lloyd) and ATHABASCA (G. Goold), which were following, had to be steadied.
Rounding the home turn, ATHABASCA was held up for clear running until entering the straight.
Near the 200m, ATHABASCA was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of M. Palmer.
TANZINA and LILLYOFTHEVALLEY raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 6: Sky Class 1 H'cap – 1200m
1st – Style Music 2nd – Victoria Nile 3rd – Millersburg 4th – Bee Plus
On return to scale a protest was lodged by M. McKenzie, rider of the 3rd placegetter, VICTORIA NILE, against MILLERSBURG (J. Lloyd), second past the post, alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol videos, stewards found that leaving the 150m, MILLERSBURG shifted in, making contact with VICTORIA NILE, and near the 50m again shifted in, making contact with VICTORIA NILE, causing it to be unbalanced. After taking into account the contact on 2 occasions and the margin of a nose, stewards upheld the protest and the Judge’s placings were subsequently amended to read: No. 5 – Style Music No. 3 – Victoria Nile No. 10 – Millersburg – 3rd No. 4 – Bee Plus – 4th.
MONJAYA BOY (M. Cahill) blundered on jumping away and lost ground.
TELESIUS (K. Yoshida) began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping STYLE MUSIC (G. Goold).
MILLERSBURG (J. Lloyd) overraced in the early and middle stages.
MONJAYA BOY and BEE PLUS (L. Cassidy) raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
G. Colless, rider of SPECIAL LIE, could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of SPECIAL LIE.
