Race 4 Class 2 Handicap – 1200 Metres 8 Starters
ELFIN BELLE was scratched prior to 8.30am as no rider was available. PROUD MOGUL (O Galea) returned to scale with a laceration to the off hind stifle. This was apparently sustained on the barriers. Starter was asked to inspect barriers for protusions. BOBSCAY touched the fence in the straight when crowded from fast finishing horses on its outside. The movement was only momentary and the pressure was relieved immediately.

Race 5 Jundah Cup Handicap – 1615 Metres 5 Starters
SOLAR BURN (NZ) (T Austin) failed to show any of his recent form and finished out of a place. Although neither trainer nor jockey could throw any light on the poor performance a change of stable and training techniques may have had some bearing.

Race 6 Class 4 Handicap - 1400 Metres 4 Starters
Jockeys O Galea (DYNASTY DASH) and R Barone (Vain to Vegas) were called before the stewards to explain why they had walked past the scales straight to the jockey’s room. They stated that the clerk of scales was not present and that they were hot. Their explanations were not accepted and both were fined $50. They were warned that they ran the risk of their mounts being disqualified. CANADIAN LYNX (D Monaghan) returned to scale with a laceration to the off stifle. It was examined by the vet but required no treatment. It also appeared to be from barrier 4 as was previously noted. The club was advised to have their starting stalls thoroughly inspected prior to the next meeting.
