KILCOY RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT FRI.3.3.00

STEWARDS PANEL: Mr G. Ireland (Chairman); Mr J.Hackett; Mr C. McLune; Mr D. Collingwood; Mr D. Hooper (Cadet).

WEATHER - FINE TRACK - DEAD

RACE 1: LANDSBOROUGH HOTEL H'CAP - 1500M.

As S. Shield was indisposed, D. Green was substituted as the rider of WAMDANCER, and J. Pollard as the rider of KARPANDA in race 7.

Making the turn out of the straight, ANGE SASSI became unbalanced and shifted out, taking NO SHOW and WAMDANCER wider on the track.

Near the 1000m., TEXAN SUNSET shifted in slightly, tightening the running of RESPECTFUL GRACE.

At the same stage, TELEKLAIRE was momentarily inconvenienced as a result of WAMDANCER shifting in.

J. Baker, rider of NO SHOW, accidentally dropped his whip shortly after entering the straight.

Stewards informed trainer K. Folland that the nomination of WAMDANCER may be refused at TAB meetings unless that filly races more competitively at its next race start.

RACE 2: THE PUB MOOLOOLABA H'CAP - 800M.

KRUSTALLOS was slow to begin.

RACE 3: O'MALLEY'S IRISH PUB, MOOLOOLABA H'CAP - 800M.

Shortly after the start, WHISTLES TUNE shifted out and made contact with NAMREVIR.

Approaching the 400m., WHISTLES TUNE was inclined to lay in and tighten the running of SAHARA SAINT. PARIS IN SUMMER, which was following, was inconvenienced as a result.

SAHARA SAINT was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.

RACE 4: COTTON TREE MEATS H'CAP - 800M.

Trainer J. Bannon was fined $50 for presenting FRIENDLY PURSUIT with incorrect gear.

FRIENDLY PURSUIT blundered after leaving the 400m..
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for MONTEGO MISS falling on the home turn and A. Gillett being dislodged from that mare. After taking evidence from N. Day, rider of STAR OF RORY, S. Morris, rider of FLASH MUSIC and B. Carne, rider of POETIC JOKER, the inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed in order that evidence can be taken from A. Gillett, who had been transported to hospital for observation. The club's veterinary surgeon reported that MONTEGO MISS had sustained small abrasions to the off hind stifle.

THE REMAINDER OF THE MEETING WAS ABANDONED FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INSPECTION OF THE TRACK, IN PARTICULAR ON THE HOME TURN WHERE THE SURFACE HAD DETERIORATED TO A POINT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED UNSAFE.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
