SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT.

From Toowoomba 17-01-09--- Stewards inquired into the reasons why Jockey C Gilby left the Toowoomba Race Meeting on the evening of the 17th of January without seeking permission . Stewards after hearing the explanation put forward by Jockey Gilby subsequently charged him under LR49 and fined him the sum of $200.Stewards also notified Jockey that as per the terms of his license and under AR175(p) directed him to attend the adjourned inquiry from the Toowoomba meeting when notified by the Stewards .

RACE 1 – CHARLIE DAHL MEMORIAL PLTE. 800M
1ST TOTARA LASS 2ND FASTPEONY 3RD LITTLE EVA 4TH SLIPPERY LOOKS

At the start both LIGHTNING EMERALD ( S BAYLISS ) and FASTPEONY (M HEAGNEY) were slow to begin .

SLIPPERY LOOKS (C EATON ) began awkwardly .

Approaching the 500m TOTARA LASS ( G AUCKRAM ) hung out and did so until rounding the home turn .




RACE 2 -REDCLIFFE LEAGUES CLUB CLASS 1HCP.-1500M
1ST TARSHAE 2ND BELLA SOMBRA 3RD ANY WONDER 4TH FREEBOOTERS

Jockey C Eaton (HAPPY SALIERI) was dislodged on the way to the barriers and after being inspected by the medical staff was cleared to fulfil her engagement for this race .
ANSWER TO A PRAYER( J WOOD ) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground .
Shortly after the start BELLA SOMBRA ( M HEAGNEY ) was tightened for room between ANY WONDER (R HENRICKS) ,which shifted out and HAPPY SALIERI (C EATON ) which shifted in .

BELLA SOMBRA ( M HEAGNEY ) raced wide in the middle stages of the event .

App J Wood reported that in the middle stages of the race ANSWER TO A PRAYER got it tongue over the bit and as a result did not run on over the final stages .


RACE 3-SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL CLASS 3PLT.-

1ST STELLA REINE 2ND GREAT SOUTHERNLAND 3RD MR TOMBOLA 4TH LUNACAMPO

At the start MR TOMBOLA (J WOOD ) and PENDAMORE ( B POWELL ) were slow to begin .

CHESTERS BABCOCK ( J BROWNE ) began awkwardly .
Approaching the 600m GREAT SOUTHERNLAND (C GILBY ) became awkward on and clipped the heels of CHESTERS BABCOCK (J BROWN ) which was weakening.
Rounding the 450m turn GREAT SOUTHERNLAND lay in tightening CHESTERS BABCOCK ,for a short distance .
Over the final 100m of the event GREAT SOUTHERNLAND lay in across the heels of STELLA REINE (J MURPHY ).

It was reported to Stewards by the club Veterinary Surgeon that GREAT SOUTHERNLAND had bled .Stewards contacted Trainer M Lewis ,who confirmed that the report was correct and ,Trainer Lewis was notified that the horse had bled for the 2nd time it would now incur a life ban under AR 53A (5). Stewards also notified Trainer M Lewis that he would be required to attend an inquiry into his neglecting to notify Stewards of the bleeding attack.

Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident which occurred just passing the winning post at the conclusion of the race, involving Jockey C Gilby ;and another incident that occurred after the horses had pulled up and were returning to the enclosure at approximately the 1300m.This incident involved a verbal altercation between App J Brown and Jockey C Gilby . Stewards took evidence from both parties and subsequently charged both App J Brown and Jockey C Gilby under AR83 (a) and fined both riders the sum of $200 each.

1ST ROSIE’S BOY 2ND SILVA RAZZ 3RD MOSSTANG 4TH PRAYER CHAMBER

At the start SILVA RAZZA (R HANCOCK ) was slow to begin

Approaching the 850m DUSTY ZEPHYR (A MERRITT) when racing to the inside of MOSSTANG (C SPRY ) has become awkward for a few strides when MOSSTANG has rolled in .


RACE 5-QTIS ADDED STAKES MAIDEN PLTE- 1200M
1ST READY ASSET 2ND MOON SHAKER 3RD NEWMINSTER 4TH LUJAZZI

Jockey C Eaton was replaced by order of the Stewards as the rider of CHASING DREAMS by C Spry, as Jockey Eaton reported bruising and swelling in her ankle as a result of being dislodged in race two.

LUJAZZI (C KEARNEY ),MIDNIGHT RUBY (S BAYLISS) and TENNIS BRACELET (D VAN BEKKUM ) were all slow to begin .

QUEEN OF THE STORM (M HEAGNEY ) and CHASING DREAMS (C SPRY ) both raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event .

Nearing the 800m ROSE ARCADE (J MURPHY ) had to be eased when racing to the inside of QUEEN OF THE STORM (M HEAGNEY ) which was taken in by NEWMINSTER (J BROWNE )

Rounding the 450m BON SUPREME (G BUTLER ) was held up for clear running behind ROSE ARCADE (J MURPHY ).

Trainer G Logan reported to Stewards that Rose Arcade had bled from both nostrils during the running of the race . Stewards informed connections that under AR 53 (A)
Rose Arcade would be banned from racing for a period of 3 months and the conditions associated with this ban .
