As S. Apthorpe was injured and D. Missen ill, rider replacements were made as per the stewards summary.
Race 1: Seapal Pallets Crates / Sleepy Hollow Spelling Farm Maiden Plate 800m
1st – FLINDERS SINGA 2nd- SAVANNAH GOLD 3rd- PRIME QUEST 4th- ALJOMAKA BAY
On jumping away GRANDMA SNEEZY (K. Gates (a)) shifted out and bumped SAVANNAH GOLD (D. Gill).
ALJOMAKA BAY (J. Hoopert) began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied when tightened for room between FLINDERS SINGA (L. Appo) and FEARLESS (K. Yoshida), which shifted out.
Near the 500m GRANDMA SNEEZY raced in restricted room for a short distance between PRIME QUEST (J. Kropp) and SAVANNAH GOLD, which shifted in.
Race 2: Des Webb Memorial Redcliffe Leagues / Clear Mountain Stud Class 2 Handicap 800m
1st – ISAJOY 2nd- MURPHY’S PROSPECT 3rd- DAYDREAMER 4th- EASE ON BY
SYRIAN LIONESS (M. Radecker) which was resuming from a lengthy spell, underwent a veterinary examination prior to the race and was cleared to start.
A pre race veterinary examination of PRETZELS, which had blood present in its mouth cleared the mare to start after it was found to have bit its tongue.
The start was delayed when SHINER required farrier attention after the gelding sprung its near fore plate.
ZARMARSKI (M. McKenzie (a)) which was fractious in the barriers, and LOOSE CANNON (A. Smith(a)) were both slow to begin.
MURPHY’S PROSPECT (K. Gates (a)) was slow to begin and lost valuable ground.
ISAJOY (J. Kropp) began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with DAYDREAMER (K. Yoshida).
PRETZELS (I. Coombes), SYRIAN LIONESS (M. Radecker), ZARMARSKI, SHINER and OTAGO (L. Appo) all raced wide throughout.
EASE ON BY (S. Drake) was held up for clear running from the 400m to the finish line and went to the finish line not fully tested.
ZARMARSKI was held up for clear running from the 200m and went to the line without being fully tested.
MURPHY’S PROSPECT had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 100m until the 50m.
Race 3: Kilcoy Pastoral Co / Wattle Brae Stud Class 4 Handicap 1500m
1st – NATURALLY MINE 2nd- SHOCKWAVES 3rd- LOVE THAT CHICK 4th- AMINUTEMORE
SHOCKWAVES (S. Drake) began awkwardly and shifted out tightening JUST THE ROCK (B. Hull) out onto LOVE THAT CHICK (R. Hancock).
Leaving the 1400m JUST THE ROCK (B. Hull) commenced to overrace, shifted in slightly placing LOVE THAT CHICK (R. Hancock) in restricted racing room for a short distance.
B. Derbyshire (a) the rider of OH SUNDAY pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for permitting her mount to shift in near the 1200m when not sufficiently clear of JUST THAT ROCK, forcing that runner in onto LOVE THAT CHICK, resulting in LOVE THAT CHICK having to be checked. B. Derbyshire was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 5 meetings to commence at m/n 29th April 2012 and to expire at m/n 7th May 2012.
DIEHARD TRYING (L. Appo) hung out leaving the home straight on the first occasion.
Near the 600m LOVE THAT CHICK shifted wider to improve forcing OH SUNDAY wider on the track.
Near the 300m DIEHARD TRYING shifted out and bumped BRENNAN (D. Gill).
Race 4: Somerset Regional Council / Bechly’s TPT / Raheen Stud Class B Handicap 1200m
1st – MOUNT FREEDOM 2nd- SPLASH AND DASH 3rd- NOT A DULL MOMENT 4th- DEPASSE
HERITAGE SHADOW (S. Drake) which was resuming from a lengthy spell, underwent a veterinary examination prior to the race and was cleared to start.
GOLD SERPENT (M. McKenzie (a)) underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start.
At the start NOT A DULL MOMENT (C. Kearney) and LENTINI MIST (C. Eaton) were tightened for room between MAGIC TURBO (D. Gill) and SLASH AND DASH (J. Kropp), which shifted in.
LENTINI MIST shifted in near the 700m and bumped DEPASSE (A. Kitson (a))
MAGIC TURBO and LENTINI MIST raced wide throughout the event.
M. McKenzie, the rider of GOLD SERPENT, reported at scale that his mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event.
Race 5: BP Kilcoy / Stockmans Supplies / Top Echelon QTIS Maiden Plate 1200m
1st – SUHAILAH 2nd- DOUBLE ROSE 3rd- TRULY VEXING 4th- YOUR MOVE
A delay to the start of this event was caused due to the clubs ambulance officers having to treat two licensees, who were injured in the saddling enclosure.
ICE GREY (S. Drake) and PERSIAN BOOK (J. Kropp) were both slow to begin.
ICE GREY raced greenly during the early stages and at a point near the 850m, shifted in abruptly resulting in PERSIAN BOOK having to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. Stewards advised Mr G. Cornish the trainer of ICE GREY that the filly would have to compete satisfactorily in an official trial prior to being permitted to race again.
ICE GREY had to be momentarily steadied near the 250m when awkwardly placed at the heels of PERSIAN BOOK which shifted in slighty.
STELLA FILANTE (R. Hancock) and YOUR MOVE (C. Kearney) both raced wide throughout the event.
