RACE 1: QTIS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000m

RACE 2: QTIS CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200m
FRESCILLE was scratched when no rider was available.
Shortly after the start JACKMOR commenced to lose ground and race erratically. Jockey G Peacock attempted to pull the horse up but was eventually dislodged approaching the 800m. He suffered an injury to his left ankle and was conveyed to the Longreach Hospital for further treatment. An enquiry into the incident will be convened at a date to be fixed. JACKMOR has been banned from racing until it successfully completes a series of barrier trials in company to the satisfaction of stewards.
Approaching the 800m, POWER HUNT, when being restrained, threw its head in the air and lost ground.
At about the 350m mark SUMMER REFUGE fell giving S Oates a heavy fall. He suffered injuries to his right shoulder and hip and was conveyed to the Longreach Hospital for further treatment. His mount SUMMER REFUGE suffered a fractured neck and euthanased by the veterinarian. An enquiry was opened into the incident and evidence was taken from Ross Tilley (BILLABONG BABE), Glenda Bell (ASTRONITO), Rhonda Seymour (TUPPENY OPERA), Oliver Galea (YOUNG LOVER) and John Dagan (Old Harlequin). The enquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
Both riders were flown to the Rockhampton Base Hospital for further treatment.

RACE 3: CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1200m
S Oates replaced by T Brummell on BISEZEPH.
G Peacock replaced by G Bell on DOGON.
O Galea was replaced by C Prow when unable to make the weight on CANADIAN LYNX.
O Galea was fined $100. AR 120(b)


RACE 4: CLASS 4 H’cap - 1400m
J Dagan replaced G Peacock on SIPPY DOWNS.
G Bell replaced S Oates on LORD OF THE BLUES (NZ).
O Galea was replaced by A Butler when unable to make the weight on OVERTROW.
O Galea was fined $100. AR 120(b)
SPEED TIME dislodged T Brummell on the way to the barriers. T Brummell was uninjured.
SPEED TIME was captured, subjected to veterinary examination and passed to start.
T Brummell fined $100 for celebratory gesture passing the winning post while his mount was attempting to lug in putting 2nd placed RED D’OR under pressure.

RACE 5: OPEN H'CAP – 1000m
T Brummell replaced S Oates on ACE OF SPADES (NZ).
HOUSE OF HORRORS reared as the gates opened and lost ground.
An enquiry was opened into an incident approaching the line in which RECORD TIME was forced to check. It was found that the winner READY EDDIE has shifted out over the concluding stages and 2nd placegetter ARAFA had shifted in causing a tightening to RECORD TIME. C Prow (ARAFA) and J Dagan (READY EDDIE) were reprimanded for causing the incident. (AR137(a).

RACE 6: CRAIGLEA XXXX CUP – 1600m
COOL BIJOU (NZ) scratched when no rider available.
ACQUIRE and RENFREW were scratched when no riders available due to S Oates and G Peacock being injured.



WINNERS OF ALL RACES EXCEPT RACE 2 WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
