Race 1: CORNETTS IGA LONGREACH CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000m:
1ST-- LITTLE MISTY 2nd – BLITZED 3rd – SUDDENLY SWEET 4th-- THREE MONKEYS

CHINQUAPIN was declared a non-runner as the gates did not open. Deductions were announced with correct weight as 10 cents in the dollar value of the win bet and 9 cents in the dollar value of place bets. All horses were loaded from barrier 3 for the remainder of the races and the Longreach Jockey Club will look into rectifying the problem before their next race meeting.

FOUR JOY (B.Floyd) jumped awkwardly and steady off heels at the 600m then raced wide from the home turn to gain clear running.

Race 2: MYERS NEWSAGENCY QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1000m:
1ST -CRAIGLEA KEY 2nd – CRAIGLEA TURBO 3rd – CRAIGLEA STELLAR 4TH -- KISS AND CONTROL

CRAIGLEA PIXIE (S.Egan) blundered and stumbled out of the gates losing considerable ground then raced wide throughout.

CRAIGLEA KEY (C.Kearney) was slow into stride and showed no early speed.

CRAIGLEA RELOADED (B.Floyd) raced wide throughout.

CRAIGLEA STELLAR (C.Dixon) hung out down the straight

Race 3: LONGREACH POST OFFICE STAFF CLASS B HANDICAP 1300m:
1st –JOG ALONG JOEL 2nd – TATYOON 3rd – JUST READY 4th – WALLARINGA

TATYOON (W.Doyle) stood flat footed and lost considerable ground.

WALLARING (B.Floyd) raced wide for the majority of the event.

IN GOD’S HANDS (R.Mules) raced wide from the 500m.

JUST READY (C.Dixon) shifted out slightly under pressure over the concluding stages taking TATYOON (W.Doyle) in onto STARS ARE BORN(S.Egan) which had to be steadied.

Race 4: AUSTRALIA POST LONGREACH CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1200m:
1st – ONLY LOOKING 2nd – PICCOLO LATTE 3rd -- CRAIGLEA GAL 4th – CATABLOIC

PICCLO LATTE (R.Mules) was slow away and raced wide from the majority of the event.

ALHPA STAR (W.Doyle) and GRAIGLEA GAL (B.Floyd) bumped on jumping.

ONLY LOOKING (C.Dixon) over raced in the early stages.

LUCKY DOLL (D.Rewald) raced wide from the 400m.

Race 5: GD & GM BROWNE SMASH REPAIRS OPEN HANDICAP 1100m:
1st – GESINK 2nd – EQUITANT 3rd – HEZA FLASHMAN 4th -- CRAIGLEA TUNES

CRAIGLEA TUNES (B.Floyd) jumped out onto HEZA FLASHMAN(R.Mules) and BLITZRIEG (C.Dixon) while KNOWN PROSPECT(C.Kearney) jumped inwards causing BLITZKRIEG to have to check and lose ground.

A SECRET (S.Egan) was slow away and raced wide from the 600m.

EQUITANT (D.Rewald) raced wide in the early stages.

Stewards inquired into the poor performance of BLITZRIEG and jockey Dixon stated the gelding received a bump at the start and did not appreciate the dust track conditions. A veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities.
