Race 1: RSL MEMORIAL SERVICES CLUB LONGREACH CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m:
1ST-- LUCY LOU 2nd – YANNICKI 3rd – FOUR JOY 4th-- SOLYMAR
LUCY LOU (S. Galvin) was slow away.
YANNICKI (K. Ballard) dipped a stride after the start.
ADDA ROCKET (D. Brown) raced wide for the majority of the event.
SOLYMAR (T. Brummell) travelled wide from the 500m
Race 2: MERCURY BUSINESS SUPPLIES BEMCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000m:
1ST -- SUDDENLY SWEET 2nd – BIKRAM 3rd – INDOLLARGENCE 4TH -- MANNERS PLEASE
SUDDENLY SWEET (T. Brummell) jumped away awkwardly and travelled wide to the top of the home straight.
BIKRAM (S. Galvin) was slow into stride and showed no early speed.
Race 3: LONGREACH REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING MAIDEN PLATE 1100m:
1st –IMAROCKET 2nd – CHINQUAPIN 3rd – AMICI’S HOPE 4th – ARDINI
IMAROCKET dislodged jockey S. Galvin on the way to the barriers and had to be captured which caused a short delay to the start of race three. A veterinary inspection cleared IMAROCKET to race. Ambulance officers cleared S. Galvin to ride.
SOLDIER’S CHARM (D. Brown) stood flat footed as the gates opened losing considerable ground.
ARDINI (S. Egan) lay on the side of the barrier as the gates opened causing the colt to jump awkwardly into the other side of the barrier temporarily unbalancing Apprentice Egan.
PIPPA’S CALL (D. Rewald) jumped inwards.
DEVIOUS MAN (D. Ballard) bounded out of the gates.
DAD’S APPRENTICE (K. Ballard) jumped away awkwardly then travelled wide from the 600m.
CHINQUAPIN (T. Brummell) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 4: COOPER/STRANG FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1300m:
1st – PUFFED 2nd – BENLEIGH 3rd -- EPIC DANCER 4th – TATYOON
Jockey D Ballard was permitted by stewards after consulting with trainer R. Simpson to ride LUCKY DOLL 3 1/2 kg overweight as there were no other riders available.
LUCKY DOLL (D. Ballard) and PUFFED (T. Brummell) bumped on jumping.
VENNOM (D. Brown) and CRAIGLEA RAWIE (K. Ballard) both travelled wide for the majority of the event.
Race 5: 4LG/WEST FM OPEN HANDICAP 1300m:
1st – SECRETS 2nd – PIGTAILS 3rd – KNOWN PROSPECT 4th -- REIGNING TO WIN
PIGTAILS (R. Mules) bounded out of the barriers losing ground.
DUAL ECHELON (D. Brown) raced wide for the majority of the event.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
