TRANSPOSE & BABY SPICE were slow away.

When questioned over his ride on NEW YORK TIMES and in particular from the 600m Jockey D. Lloyd stated that after jumping well the gelding had trouble in keeping touch with the leaders due to its big weight and genuine early pace of the race. He added that when it became obvious that NEW YORK TIMES was not going to make any impression on the leaders he elected to not punish the gelding. His comments were noted but D. Lloyd was nevertheless reminded that at crucial stages of races he is to ride in a manner so as not to leave himself open to query.

Apprentice J. Dagan was cautioned for allowing his mount DANATAL to shift out rounding the home turn taking TYCOON CHARLIE wider on the track and also for allowing DANATAL to continue to shift out down the home straight inconveniencing TYCOON CHARLIE.

When questioned over the seemingly disappointing performance of TYCOON CHARLIE Jockey R. Pujolas stated that the gelding travelled well until the 600m but failed to run on. He added that TYCOON CHARLIE raced like a horse that was unfit. Trainer J. Andersen stated that he was disappointed with the effort and felt TYCOON CHARLIE may have been suffering from a virus. He indicated that he would monitor the gelding and have it vetted if need be and report any abnormalities to stewards if they arise. Their comments were noted. A post race vet inspection of TYCOON CHARLIE failed to detect any abnormalities.
