GENERAL:
As Jockey Tony Lane was indisposed, Stewards permitted the following replacements:
Race 2 SUMMA PRINCESS G Michaels
Race 6 ELUSIVE DIAMOND G Michaels
Race 7 SNIPPITY SNIP G Michaels
Stewards advised Jockey A Lane that he must supply a medical certificate verifying his illness.
As Jockey Peter Cullen was indisposed for today’s meeting, Stewards permitted the following replacement:

Stewards advised Jockey P Cullen that he must supply a medical certificate to verify his illness.
RACE 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1250 Metres – 10 Starters
As Jockey D Lloyd was overweight as the rider of HAIL TO RANSOM, Stewards permitted Jockey M Bennett to be the replacement rider for this horse. Subsequently Jockey D Lloyd was found Guilty to a charge under AR120(b) in that he accepted a ride when found to be overweight. Stewards issued a monetary penalty of $200. The charge and the fine was also to cover Jockey Lloyd being overweight as the rider of SIN CITY in the seventh event on todays programme.
App Tracey Mathieson was found Guilty to breaching ARR 92 (12) in that as the rider of NEW MOLLYAN she failed to claim her full allowance as required to do, only claiming 1kg. Subsequently App Mathieson was fined the sum of $50.
The advertised starting time of the race was put back to 1:42 p.m. when the Ambulance failed to arrive on course.
NEW MOLLYAN (T Mathieson) raced ungenerously in the middle stages of the event. At approximately the 200 metre mark CHUM (D Whitmore) shifted in under pressure, which resulted in FAILTHFUL STAR (D Green) being taken inwards and making contact with HAIL TO RANSON (M Bennett). Stewards noted that both D Whitmore and D Green stopped riding their respective mounts and attempted to straighten as soon as their horses shifted. ROBIN THE FROG (D Evans) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and found to be shin sore in both fore legs.
RACE 2: CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres – 12 Starters
MIGHT PHUN (D Crossland) raced in restricted racing room for the first 100 metres of the event. G Michaels the rider of SUMMA PRINCESS, reported to the Stewards that is his opinion, his horse raced uncompetitively from the 800 metre mark.
RACE 3: CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1050 Metres – 9 Starters
The start time of the race was delayed when GREEN JACKET became fractious in the Barriers and became caught up. The horse was removed from the Barriers and cleared by the Club Veterinary Surgeon to resume its rightful place with the field. FROSTY STAR (D Green) hung outwards throughout the event, and in the final stages of the event ROCKY SPRINGS (R Mules) shifted outwards at the same time as LOUISVILLE LIP (M Bennett) shifted inwards. This resulted in ROCKY SPRINGS (R Mules) having to be restrained.
RACE 4: QTIS 3YO CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1050 Metres – 10 Starters
As the start was effected, WISHFUL MISS (D Crossland) jumped outwards making contact with GREY TURK (A Molino). As the start was effected PEACEFUL MISSILE (G Kliese) jumped outwards making contact with MIGHT RECITE (D Whitmore) who in turn shifted outwards and made contact with EXPRESS FORCE (R Mules). At approximately the 800 metre mark VICTORY SIREN (M Bennett) improved onto the heels of BRIEF ENCOUNTER (D Evans). Over the concluding stages of the event WISHFUL MISS (D Crossland) laid outwards onto PEACEFUL MISSILE (G Kliese) which resulted in Jky D Crossland having to stop riding and attempt to straighten his mount.
RACE 5: CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1050 Metres – 12 Starters
OUR GIRL ANNIE (D Evans) was reluctant to be loaded into the Barriers
WHAT HAPPENED (A Molino) and WHYTOOK (R Hall) were both slow to begin. WHAT HAPPENED (A Molino) got its head in the air and raced ungenerously when rounding the 1200 metre turn. TYCOON CHARLIE (L Timson) was momentarily held up for clear running on entering the straight.
RACE 6: CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres – 12 Starters
PICK ANOTHER was slow to begin. FILZAO jumped in at the start and made heavy contact with CHANNON PRINCE (L Timson). PICK ANOTHER (A Cox) raced ungenerously in the early stages.
RACE 7: OPEN HANDICAP – 1500 Metres – 14 Starters
SIN CITY (R Mules) returned to the enclosure with the presence of blood in both nostrils. This was confirmed by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon and the horse was declared a Bleeder under ARR 53A. As it was the 1st attack of bleeding, SIN CITY was barred for period of 3 calendar months. Trainer R Walsh was advised of the embargo which had been placed on the horse.
At approximately the 1300 metre mark, COMMAND THE WIND (B Stewart) shifted in marginally and placed REDUCED (A Molino) in restricted racing room. Jockey A Cox, the rider of NEW GALITY reported to the Stewards that he was forced to race wide over the middle stages of the event, when unable to shift closer to the rail.
RACE 8: CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres – 11 Starters
Correct weight was delayed when connection of REMEKA, the second place getter, wished to view the photo finish print.
APPLEBY (D Evans) was slow into stride when the start was effected. SOUPLESSE (R Mules) over raced in the early stages of the event. SOUPLESSE (R Mules) whilst being restrained from the heels of GOLD EYE (M Bennett) shifted outwards which resulted in MAGIC HOLIDAY (D Green) being taken wide onto the track, this further resulted in PLIANCY (G Michaels) also being taken wide.
