LATE RIDING CHANGES:

When Jockey F. Edwards was unable to fulfil his engagements, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Stewards will interview Jockey Edwards at a later date.

Race 1: Blue River Landscape Supplies QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st TALK TOUGH 2nd VAST ELEMENT 3rd NEXT MINUTE 4th - ZAHMATA OF HONOUR

After arriving on course NEXT MINUTE was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and
cleared to take its place in the field.

Whilst OUTBACK WAYTIN was parading behind the barriers the bridle on the filly became dislodged, then while the bridle was being replaced OUTBACK WAYTIN escaped from its handler. The filly was recaptured and, whilst the bridle was being adjusted it again became dislodged from the filly. OUTBACK WAYTIN was placed in the barriers and the bridle adjusted there.

As the start was effected VAST ELEMENT (L. Dillon) bounded in the air and was slow to begin.

From about the 1000 metres OUTBACK WAYTIN (App. A. Butler) was inclined to hang out across the heels of CHEVAL (App. B. Appo). OUTBACK WAYTIN continued to race ungenerously in the middle stages.

Leaving the 1000 metres NEXT MINUTE (B. El’Issa) rolled in and when shifted out slightly and inconvenienced OUTBACK WAYTIN.

CRAIGLEA ELTON (J. Kokotajlo) raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 200 metres ZHAMATA OF HONOUR (D. Simmons) shifted in slightly onto NEXT MINUTE (B. El-Issa) which shifted inwards, resulting in CRAIGLEA CELICA (A. Dykes) having to check. Jockey El’Issa was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to keep his mounts straight.

Trainer L Wright was advised that a warning had been placed on OUTBACK WAYTIN due to her poor performance.

Race 2: Connole Carlisle Maiden Plate - 1050 metres
1st BAGINIQUE 2nd DICHOTOMY 3rd RHODESIAN LASSY 4th - HE’S A TERROR

The start was delayed when HOT LIPS ROSIE (App. A. Butler) refused to load into the barriers. Stewards ordered the withdrawal of HOT LIPS ROSIE at 2.10 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on HOT LIPS ROSIE be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

0¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, BAGINIQUE
5¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, BAGINIQUE
1¢ in the dollar for the place for second, DICHOTOMY
3¢ in the dollar for the place for third, RHODESIAN LASSY

Trainer L. Wright was advised that HOT LIPS ROSIE must obtain a barrier certificate for prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

Whilst parading behind the barriers CRAIGLEA KOLAN (J. Kokotajlo) reared and dislodged Jockey J. Kokotajlo, who had a harmless fall and remounted CRAIGLEA KOLAN.

Shortly after the start CRAIGLEA KOLAN (J. Kootajlo) shifted in slightly and bumped RHODESIAN LASSY (D. Simmons).

At about the 800 metres CHASIN’ THE WIND (D. Evans), which was racing between SOMEPLACE (App. A. Kitson) and RHODESIAN LASSY (D. Simmons), commenced to over-race and when being restrained over-reacted, resulting in DICHOTOMY (A. Coome) improving onto the heels of CHASIN’ THE WIND and having to be steadied, and also resulting in HE’S A TERROR (T. Bannon) over-racing for a short distance.

VIRGINIA FALLS (A. Dykes) raced wide from the 600 metres.

Race 3: Champion C Stud & Equestrian Centre Class 4 Handicap - 1800 metres
1st – ARIADNE 2nd ARISTON 3rd SHORT TRIP 4th - BARELY AN ANGEL

FORECLOSUE (App. B. Appo) was slow to begin.

PAYTEEVEE (T. Bannon) was inclined to over-race unil near the 1200 metres.

Jockey M. Usher pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that at approximately the 1700 metres he permitted ARISTON to shift in when insufficiently clear of FORECLOSURE (App. B. Appo), resulting in that gelding having to be checked and lose its rightful running. Jockey Usher was suspended from riding in races for a period covering 3 meetings, to commence at midnight on 19th September 2013, up to and including midnight on 26TH September 2013. In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Usher’s plea of guilty and his good record in regard to careless riding charges.

Race 4: Building Approvals & Consultancy Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st FUNDIDO 2nd - ELAY PRINCESS 3rd TYCOON ANNIE 4th – MAGIC FLAG

When Jockey L. Dillon was to be overweight, Jockey D. Simmons was substituted as the rider of CRYSTALS ‘N’ PEARLS. Jockey Dillon was fined $100 under A.R.120(b).

At the start COUNT ON A ROCKET (T. O’Hara) shifted out and bumped CRYSTALS ‘N’ PEARLS (D. Simmons), which was slow to begin.

GAILAMOUR (J. P. Stanley) blundered shortly after the start.

COUNT ON A ROCKET (T. O’Hara) and GO SAI (J. Stephens) raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Mackay Chiropractic Open Handicap - 1560 metres
1st DIAMONDCOWBOY 2nd - SO PRETENTIOUS 3rd OUR BOY LUKAS 4th - MIGHTY MITE

LIBERTY’S MAGIC (T O’Hara) was slow away.

MOHTASHEM (J Stanley) raced wide throughout.

Upon entering the straight MIGHTY MITE (D Hayse) shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped MOHTASHEM.

When questioned about the performance of EXCEED ALL LIMITS, Jockey B. El-Issa stated that due to the lack of early pace he elected to take up a forward position. He said he was able to improve around the field comfortably, however the horse failed to finish off the race and in his opinion was disappointing. Trainer W. Pomfrett said that it was now his intention to spell EXCEED ALL LIMITS.

When questioned as to the performance of MOHTASHEM, Jockey J. P. Stanley stated that in the middle stages he was caught three wide and was unable to improve despite his efforts. Jockey Stanley was of the opinion that if he had restrained his mount it would have been detrimental to the horse’s chances. Jockey Stanley added that in his opinion the horse was disappointing. Trainer J. Manzelmann advised stewards that the horse had come to the end of its long preparation and was his intention to spell the gelding.

Race 6: Opteon - Central & Southern Qld Class 1 Handicap – 1560 metres
1st ROFRANOZ 2nd PROUD WARRIOR 3rd DODGE THE GREY 4th - ONE STOP

When Jockey B. El-Issa was indisposed after riding EXCEED ALL LIMITS IN Race 5, Jockey D. Evans was substituted as the rider of LITTLEMISSPERFECT. Jockey El’Issa was advised that he must furnish a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again.

RESTRAINING ORDER (App. K. Gates) was slow to begin.

TANMEYYA (App. S. Cooke) and THE OX (T. O’Hara) raced three wide throughout.

Upon returning to scale Jockey J. P. Stanley reported that in the home straight ONE STOP laid out and proved difficult to ride out to the finish.

When questioned in regard to the poor performances of PAKA MIKA and THE OX, trainer Ms A. Usher advised stewards that she intended to send THE OX for an immediate spell and that PAKA MIKA will be retired. Nevertheless, Ms Usher was advised that the nominations of both horses will be restricted to non-TAB meetings until they can establish form.

Shortly after entering the straight Jockey Evans had to restrain LITTLEMISSPERFECT off the heels of WRONG NUMBER (A. Coome), which had shifted in. Jockey Coome was reminded of his obligation to ensure that he is clear of other runners before shifting ground.

Race 7: Caneland Central Class 2 Handicap – 1200 metres
1st LIGHT DREAMER 2nd FORTZA 3rd VERMITHRAX 4th - HIP SHAKE BANG

TUPPENY’S OPINION (J.P. Stanley) began awkwardly.

Over the concluding stages JOPH LA HAE (M. Usher) was held up and unable to obtain clear running from behind FORTZA (T. Bannon) and was unable to be fully tested.
