STEWARDS REPORT - SATURDAY, 3RD MARCH, 2001

WEATHER: FINE TRACK: GOOD
RACE 1 MAIDEN HCP. 1000 METRES (7 STARTERS): HEIANNA and LAMBADA QUEEN were both tightened at the start between NIMAGIRRA and CRIMSON PRINCE both of which jumped away awkwardly.
CRIMSON PRINCE raced greenly throughout the event and approaching the home turn shifted in despite the efforts of its rider resulting in LAMBADA QUEEN (D. Gay) blundering off that runners heels.
RACE 2 CLASS 2 HCP. 1000 METRES (5 STARTERS): GREY COMMANDER (L. Timson) hung out throughout the event.
Approaching the 100 metre turn COHESION (David Rewald) blundered after racing up onto the heels of SERIOUSLY VAIN (W. Tomsett).
RACE 3 OPEN HCP. 1000 METRES (7 STARTERS): BLUE MARLOO jumped out at the start and made heavy contact with BALBISCAY which as a result lost ground.
RACE 4 CLASS 4 HCP. 1400 METRES (6 STARTERS): TIME TO ANSWER was slow to begin.
RACE 5 CLASS 1 HCP.1200 METRES (7 STARTERS):. LUNAR PROSPECTOR jumped out at the start and crowded SOVIET LEADER onto FOREST CHATTER.
Stewards confiscated the safety vest worn by W. Tomsett as in their opinion the deteriorated condition made it a safety risk. W. Tomsett was reprimanded for failing to replace this vest after being directed to do so by the Capricorn Chairman of Stewards following the Gladstone Turf Club meeting on the 18/2/01.
SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and samples collected were forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
