MT. ISA RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT SATURDAY 24/05/2003

STEWARDS PANEL – G. Hargraves (ch), T. Anderson.

WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Dirt RAIL – True

RACE 1 POLICE SERVICE QTIS MAIDEN HCP 1000M.

LONE GAL & MISS KNOWITALL were late scratchings at 1.00pm due to insufficient riders.

SMART ALICK and FRISKY ANGEL were slow away.

FRISKY ANGEL raced greenly in the early stages and was trapped wide in the middle stages.

RACE 2 QLD AMBULANCE CLASS 4 HCP 1000M.

MIGHTY WONG hung out in the middle stages and forced CANNO wider on the track. A post race vet inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr S. Royes stated that the gelding suffered a stone bruise early in the week and although he felt MIGHTY WONG appeared to have recovered leading up to the event felt that MIGHTY WONG might have still been feeling the injury, which could have been the reason for it hanging. Mr Royes was advised that he must report any occurrence that may affect a horses running in a race in accordance with AR140. A warning was also placed on MIGHTY WONG in relation to its racing manners.

RACE 3 M.I.M. MINE RESERVE CLASS 2 HCP 1200M.

NED’S GAME was slow away.

OUR FRAN blundered on jumping away.

OUR FRAN raced fiercely in the early stages.

A. Spradau the rider of MOOCH SMOOCH was reprimanded for weighing in overweight.

RACE 4 QLD FIRE & RESCUE CLASS 6 HCP 1200M.

SO FRAAR SO GOOD was a late scratching at 12.30pm on vet’s advice.

SHAMPANSKOYA blundered badly on jumping away.

PERMANENT jumped in at the start and made heavy contact with ENGLAND.

RACE 5 MT ISA BASE HOSPITAL OPEN HCP 1700M.

PRIME INVESTMENT was slow away.

Passing the post the first time WHIPSTICK hung out and tightened the running of PACKSYND & JUST FANTASY.

Soon after straightening JUST FANTASY shifted out and hampered PRIME INVESTMENT.
