PERSPECTIVE was declared a late scratching at 12:15pm after the filly injured itself in the on course stables. Trainer P. Inwood was advised a veterinary certificate of clearance would be required before the filly was permitted to start again.

At the start HOYO (R. Sue-San) stood flat footed and failed to begin with the field. Trainer P. Inwood was advised that a warning will be placed on HOYO.

KOBBER’S MAGIC (K. Ballard) and INPARTICULAR (J. Rudd) both raced wide in the early and middle stages if the event.

Jockey R. Sue-San reported that HOYO was inclined to over race from the 1000 metres to the 800 metres. Jockey Sue-San added that he was also held up from the 200 metres to the 100 metres.

Race 2: Book Your Luncheon Tickets Now Class 1 Handicap – 1200 metres:
1st – JABIRU DREAMING 2nd – PUFFED 3rd – JESTERS DELIGHT 4th – BARBIZON

JESTER’S DELIGHT (J. Rudd) reared as the start was affected and lost considerable ground.

Shortly after the start UNSWEPT (D. Ballard) and PUFFED (T. Hill) made contact.

JESTER’S DELIGHT (J. Rudd) raced wide for the entire event.

PURE PRINCE (K. Ballard) made the home turn awkwardly and as a consequence raced wider than anticipated.

When questioned as to the performance of UNSWEPT, jockey D. Ballard stated that UNSWEPT travelled comfortably throughout the event, but approaching the 400 metres resented racing between runners. Jockey Ballard further added that UNSWEPT may have failed to see out the distance of 1200 metres and is better suited over the distance of 1000 metres.

Race 3: Don’t Forget Fashions On The Filed Class 6 Palte – 1200 metres:
1st – CHEMIN DE MARC 2nd – SUPREME SHOW 3rd – OLD FLAM 4th – JUST LUST

At the start BRINGELLY (T. Hill) lost ground when tightened for room between SUPREME SHADOW (T. Brummell) and JUST LUST (K. Ballard) both of which shifted ground.

SUPREME SHADOW (T. Brummell) and CHEMIN DE MARC (D. Ballard) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Near the 600 metres BRINGELLY (T. Hill) was eased out of the event. A post-race veterinary examination of BRINGELLY revealed a fracture to the near side shoulder and on the advice of the club’s veterinary surgeon BRINGELLY was euthanized on humane grounds.

When questioned as to the performance of NORWEGAN, jockey R. Sue-San stated that NORWEGAN travelled comfortably throughout the event and added that when he placed the gelding under pressure near the 400 metres it failed to respond to his riding. Jockey Sue-San added that NORWEGIAN raced like a tired horse and as such he had advised connections that the gelding would benefit from a short break. Trainer P. Inwood confirmed that the gelding would be given a short let up prior to its next start.
