SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
Stewards completed the inquiry into the fall in Race Two, The Exco Resources Ltd Class 4 Handicap at McKinlay on 23rd June, 2012, when CAPITOL HILL ridden by D. Brown and I’D DO ANYTHING ridden by M. Morris both fell. After taking evidence from a number of Licensees and viewing films, Stewards concluded that the fall resulted from CAPITOL HILL over racing and striking the heels of TYCOON CAT (D. Ballard), which caused CAPITOL HILL to fall and I’D DO ANYTHING to fall over the fallen CAPITOL HILL. No action was taken against any rider.

Jockey M. Morris was fined One Hundred Dollars after pleading Guilty to a charge of Using an Unserviceable Helmet (AR 87AA), at McKinlay on 23rd June, 2012.

Race 1: KANGA CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1) . 1000 Metres. (10 STARTERS)
1st - GENERAL CALM 2nd - KBENGAL 3rd - HANDBAG 4th - NOTIUS

K. Ballard rode WON A HEART, M. Morris rode KBENGAL, Apprentice Ms J. Kuskopf rode VIVIR and L. Morrison rode BUDDYBONEY. HAWK ATTACK and CECOTTO were both late scratchings as no riders were available.

HANDBAG (M. Cullen) was fractious on entering out onto the track.

SIR JAYSTIN (S. Mossman), BUDDYBONEY (L. Morrison) and HANDBAG all raced wide rounding the 600 metre turn.

Race 2: JIM FAIRWEATHER CLASS 3 HANDICAP (2) 1000 Metres. (9 STARTERS).
1st HUFF AND PUFF - 2nd - HOUFU 3rd - RED HUSSERATI 4th - BASALTIC BANNE

Apprentice Ms J. Kuskopf rode MAZA BOY, R. Sue-San rode EQUALES, M. Morris rode I’M HOT. S. Mossman rode MEGAROYALE. ENCOSTA SEQUALO and PORTUGUESE were both scratchings as no riders were available.

H0UFU (L. Morrison) knuckled on jumping and went outwards towards RED HUSSERATI (K. Ballard). Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey K. Ballard advised that he wished to view the patrol film of the race down the back straight for consideration of lodging a protest against the second placed horse HOUFU. After viewing the available film Jockey Ballard advised he would not proceed with lodging a protest.

EQUALES (R. Sue-San), MEGAROYALE (S. Mossman), I’M HOT (M. Morris) and BASALTIC BANNE (T. Hill) all raced wide rounding the 600 metre turn.

Race 3: BRIAN WEBB BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP. 1000 Metres. (5 Starters)..
1st –GRAND MARK 2nd - HARDHEADED 3rd - MAJESTIC LION 4th - REPEAT OFFENDER
Stewards permitted Jockey L. Morrison to ride HARDHEADED half a kilogram overweight as the horse was handicapped on the minimum weight.

HARDHEADED and MAJESTIC LION (S. Mossman) both travelled wide rounding the 600 metre turn and home turn.

Around the 550metres PERIANDER (K. Ballard) commenced losing ground. Jockey Ballard advised that the gelding was returning from a long spell and at that point its condition began to give out and continued to do so for the remainder of the race.

Race 4: MAIDEN PLATE 1100 Metrfes. (CNW – THE LEADING INDEPENDENT. 1100 Metres. (7 Starters).
1st –SAVARANA 2nd - FUNHOUSE 3rd – RUNNING WILD 4th –LEGAL LIMIT (NZ)

S. Mossman rode IMA TRICKSTER. Apprentice Ms J. Kuskopf rode SPACE SAVER. M. Morris rode DEXTERITY. GOLDEN GLAMMA (S. Mossman) was a late scratching at 12.45pm as it was lame. Veterinary Certificate was supplied.

DEXTERITY (M. Morris) jumped out onto RUNNING WILD (D. Ballard). LEGAL LIMIT (NZ) (K. Ballard) was marginally slow away.

DEXTERITY returned to scale with blood in the mouth and was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Injury had been sustained after striking its head in the barriers. Injury was of a minor nature.

Race 5: NICK SYRETT CLASS B HANDICAP.1200 Metrs . (8 Starters)
1st –MONTH OF SUNDAYS 2nd - DANIVA 3rd –BELL’S EXPRESS 4th – SIR JIVER

Apprentice Ms J. Kuskopf rode always PERSIANGULF. M. MORRIS rode SIR JIVER.

BELL’S EXPRESS (L. Morrison) was restless in the barriers prior to jumping.

BELL’S EXPRESS and SIR JIVER both travelled wide at the 600 metre turn.

Race 6: CNW – AUSTRALIAN OWNED CLASS 6 PLATE . 1200 Metres. (4 Starters).
1st –RAPID LEICA JACKO 2nd - HELLUVA HURRY 3rd - TAIMEX 4th - GOLDEN PAPILLON

NORWEGIAN (Apprentice Ms J. Kuskopf) was a late scratching when found to be lame. A Veterinary Certificate to that effect was produced.

RAPI D LEICA JACKO (M. Cullen) was slow into stride. Between the 1000 metres and the 900 metres RAPID LEICA JACKO and TAIMEX (M. Morris) bumped several times when RAPID LEICA JACKO was held up behind the leaders and was racing to the inside of TAIMEX.

TAIMEX raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 7: CNW OPEN HANDICAP. 1450 Metres. (5 Starters).
1st - SANDWOOD 2nd - CASTELLANI 3rd - COMMANCHE WARRIOR 4th –ZIP IT OFF.

Stewards permitted Jockey L. Morrison to ride SMUGGLER’S INN half a kilogram overweight as the horse was handicapped on the minimum weight. COMMAMCHE WARRIOR (D. Ballard) travelled wide rounding the home turn.
