Race 1: TOPX LONGREACH & RICHMOND MAIDEN PLATE 1000m:
1st –ROCKY MOUNTAINEER 2nd – EDENVALE BOY 3rd – GIGGLE’N’GOSSIP 4th -- SEEICAN
KISS THE ROCK (S. McCullum) jumped outwards and momentarily got his head in the air and was slow into stride, then continued to race wide for the majority of the race.
SEEICAN (R. Faehr) was slow away and raced wide from the 300m.
SARONIC (C. Rogers) tired at approx the 600m, trainer H Forster stated the colt would take benefit from this run and that it was the first time on dirt. Stewards noted his comments.
Race 2: COMMMONWEALTH BANK QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1000m:
1ST -- TRIBAL SON 2nd – HEADSHRINKER 3rd – I’M NOT GUILTY 4th – MANNERS PLEASE
There was a slight delay to the start of race two as the track was dragged.
GRACEFUL LAD (R. Bellert) jumped inwards and brushed TRIBAL SON (W. Glass).
PICCOLO LATTE (S. McCullum) was slow into stride and did not handle the track conditions.
GRACEFUL LAD (R. Bellert) showed no early speed.
Approaching the 450m SILVER’S LEGACY (R Mules) broke down suffering an injury to the off fore shoulder. As a result SILVER’S LEGACY was euthanized on humane grounds. As the vet was required to assist with the injured horse, the winner was not swabbed.
Race 3: PARRY NISSAN CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1200m:
1st –BUMPER HARVEST 2nd – TWO GENERATIONS 3rd – LOUGHRAN LAD 4th – IMPASSABLE
There was a lengthy delay to the start of race three as the track was rolled.
IMPASSABLE (W. Glass), which had been assisted in the barrier, was hindered on jumping at the start and lost considerable ground.
GREENHIDE (S. McCullum) jumped awkwardly at the start.
TORO ROSSO (C. Rogers) tired approaching the 500m, and jockey C. Rogers stated that the gelding did not handle the heavy track conditions.
Race 4: COLEMAN STOCKFEEDS CLASS B HANDICAP 1400m:
1st – FILIP 2nd – BELLACIANO 3rd -- NIFTY NELLIE 4th – FACE TWO
FACE TWO (S. McCullum) and FRAARCAS (C. Rogers) bumped on jumping.
NIFTY NELLIE (W. Glass) showed no early speed.
BALLINDALLOCH (R. Bellert) raced wide from approx the 400m.
FRAARCAS (C .Rogers) tired badly down the running as the mare struggled in the heavy conditions.
Race 5: CORNETT’S IGA MUTTABURRA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400m:
1st – EVADING 2nd – FRIGID 3rd – EQUITANT 4th -- ROYAL CHARIOT
DECERTO was a late scratching at 12pm as the gelding had pulled up lame after light morning work. Trainer H.Forster was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness would be required before the gelding’s next start.
FRIGID (S. McCullum) jumped inwards brushing ROYAL CHARIOT(D. Rewald)
BLITZKRIEG (R. Mules) blundered at the start losing considerable ground then showed no early speed and raced wide from the 400m.
INDOLLARGENCE (W. Glass) tired badly down the running as the gelding did not handle the heavy track conditions.
WINNERS OF RACE 1,3,4,5 WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
