RACE 1 FOUREX CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1000M
Approaching the 600 metres DEFINITE BID made contact with the running rail becoming unbalanced and losing ground.
RACE 2 FLEMINGS ENTERPRISE SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES 2YO MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1000M
J. Hoopert who was dually booked was replaced as the rider of COUNTRY CARAT by P. Spry. After taking all evidence into account, no further action was taken.
BOUDICA was slow to begin.
At the start ULTRA MODERN jumped in making heavy contact with CAWDOR WARRIOR who was taken in inconveniencing PLANET SIGN.
Leaving the 300 metres NOR NOVA became unbalanced and shifted out taking CELESTIA’S GOLD wider on the track.
Apprentice J. Walker, rider of CELESTIA’S GOLD was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that at the 600 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of COUNTRY CARAT which resulted in COUNTRY CARAT having to be checked and lose ground.
After taking into account J. Walker’s record he was suspended for a period of 6 meetings to commence immediately and to expire at midnight on June 27, 2001.
RACE 3 THE ADVISER CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1200M
L. Roberts, the rider of NABIRAE accidentally dropped his whip at the 300 metres.
Apprentice Ms B. Carne was replaced as the rider of KEKAISER by apprentice Ms Y. Ota when she was unable to claim any of her allowance. Apprentice Ms B. Carne was fined the sum of $25.00 for being overweight.
RACE 4 RON & ROSEMARY DUN BURNETT TO THE BEACH CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1200M
When questioned regarding the improved performance of PLUM’S GAMBLE, trainer A. Marshall stated that at the geldings previous start he was slow to begin, resented the dirt coming back in his face and that when he did jump in front today, he did expect him to race well. Mr. Marshall’s explanation was noted.

RACE 5 ENVIROSPHERES NANANGO CUP HANDICAP – 1600M
GO CLINTON jumped in at the start inconveniencing REGAL CHI CHI who lost ground.
RACE 6 THORP JEWELLERS KINGAROY MAIDEN HCP – 1200M
Jockey W. Moore and trainer A. Pedron were questioned into the performance of SAMSUN. Rider W. Moore stated that the gelding jumped well enough but just continued to lose ground thereafter.
Trainer A. Pedron stated that in his opinion the gelding may be showing signs of shin soreness but did expect a much better performance and was disappointed with the run. He further added that SAMSUN would be going for a spell. A post race veterinary examination failed to find any abnormality.
Trainer A. Pedron was advised a warning would be placed on that geldings racing manners.
