Race 1: People First Maiden Plate 800m

1st – Jade Angel 2nd- Both Ears 3rd- Glazy 4th- Eurasian Girl

The start of this race was delayed when JADE ANGEL (M. O’Brien) kicked the back gates, was removed from the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination. JADE ANGEL was subsequently cleared to start.

The start was further delayed when the rear gate that was kicked could not be repaired, and all runners had to be removed and shifted out one barrier position.

DELIGHTFUL HARMONY (A. Taylor) was slow to begin and shifted out, taking CONTRABANDIT (B. Derbyshire) out onto the heels of LIGHTNING JAKE (C. Maund).

JADE ANGEL was momentarily held up approaching the home turn.

SWEET SWEET LOVE (S. Bayliss) was held up on entering the home straight, and shortly after was disappointed for a run between BOTH EARS (I. Coombes), and EURASIAN GIRL (D. Robinson) which was taken out by GLAZY (B. Appo).

SWEET SWEET LOVE was again disappointed for a run over the final 100m between EURASIAN GIRL and BOTH EARS, which shifted in under pressure.

When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of JADE ANGEL, Trainer M. Guldbransen reported that he had only had the mare for one start prior to today, where the mare clipped heels and blundered, resulting in JADE ANGEL being beaten some distance on that occasion.

Race 2: Community Grants Class B Handicap 1000m

1st – Epona Fire 2nd- Naval Action 3rd- Skytana 4th- Mini Style

FLYING RYAN (J. Brown) was slow to begin.

FALVELANI (A. Taylor) and NAVAL ACTION (B. Derbyshire) raced wide the majority of the event.

Race 3: Heritage Community Branch Benchmark 70 Handicap 1200m

1st – Endless Tower 2nd- Before The Storm 3rd- Amber Ale 4th- Tycoon’s Pride

Near the 1000m DUKE WILLIAM (M. O’Brien) had to steadied when it improved onto the heels of ENDLESS TOWER (I. Coombes).

TYCOON’S PRIDE (T. Serjeant) raced wide until it was able to obtain a position closer to the rail near the 300m.

T. Serjeant, the rider of TYCOON’S PRIDE, reported the gelding seemed to race flat today, which she attributed to today’s weight impost and having to travel wide in the early and middle stages.

Connections of MONASHEE GOLD reported the gelding had returned with minor lacerations to the near hind leg, consistent with being galloped on.

Race 4: Heritage Mardi Gras Cup QTIS Maiden Plate 1200m

1st – French Command 2nd- Neurum Road 3rd- Silver Tee 4th- Rapid Command

SILVER TEE (S. Apthorphe) and OUR LITTLE MISSY (J. Brown) were tightened at the start between NEURUM ROAD (B. Appo) and LESS IS MORE (R. Hancock), both of which shifted ground.

LESS IS MORE raced wide in the early and middles stages of the event.

LESS IS MORE shifted out approaching the home turn, forcing OUR LITTLE MISSY and ASIDE (S. Bayliss) wider on the track.

Race 5: Heritage House Benchmark 65 Handicap 1600m

1st – All In Time 2nd- Cobbanvilla 3rd- Johnny Aucash 4th- Lady Oscar

Due to a printing error, ALL IN TIME was shown in the race book as having the gear change Blinkers Off, Winkers On, when it’s correct gear is Blinkers. A public announcement was made to this effect.

Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of the fourth placed runner, LADY OSCAR, to view the official photo finish. After viewing the photo finish, connections were satisfied with the Judge's placings, and correct weight was declared on the Judge's semaphored numbers.

GOLD RECORD (I. Coombes) and KAMARAH (R. Hancock) were both slow to begin.

Near the 1200m, JOHNNY AUCASH (A. Badger) had to be checked when tightened to the inside of MAJOR CASH (S. Bayliss), which shifted in despite the efforts of it’s rider.

LADY OSCAR (C. Kearney) was disappointed for a run near the 150m, resulting in that runner having to alter course to the inside to obtain clear running.

KAMARAH raced wide the majority of the event.
