Race 1: NANANGO MEN’S SHED MAIDEN PLATE 800m
OUR STARLIGHT – Dislodged rider during preliminary, subsequently under went a veterinary examination behind the barriers which cleared the mare to race. Trainer A. Nutley was advised that a warning would be placed against the mare’s pre race manners.
SHOVELS – On return to scale rider made application to be declared a Non Starter on the grounds that his barrier did not open with the rest of the field, placing him at a disadvantage. After hearing submissions from connections and viewing the available patrol films, stewards established that the barrier gate for SHOVELS was delayed in opening resulting in SHOVELS being denied a fair start. Stewards acting under AR134A declared SHOVELS to be a Non Starter and ordered all monies invested on SHOVELS to be refunded with the following deductions made applicable, 19 cents to the face value of all win bets and 20 cents to the face value of all place bets.
SAPPHIRE BELLE – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider J. Missen pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift out under pressure approaching the finishing post when insufficiently clear of COUNTRY GOSSIP, resulting in that runner having to be checked. J. Missen’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 meetings to commence M/N 4th October and expire M/N 17th October 2014.

Race 2: HERITAGE NANANGO COUNTRY MUSTER B’MARK 55 1000m
HOT ICE – Slow to begin.
SPIRITED KERRIE – Apprentice S. Chan pleaded guilty to a charge of careless rider, in that near the 900m, he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of HEART OF MY HEART, resulting in that runner being taken in, tightening the room of LIVING IMAGE which was also taken in onto LUNA AZZURA, forcing WILLYWYNYA which was racing to the inside of LUNA AZZURA having to be checked by its rider. Apprentice S. Chan’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 meetings to commence M/N 4th October and expire M/N 18th October 2014.
HEART OF MY HEART – Tightened for room near 900m. Raced wide for majority of the event.
LIVING IMAGE – Steadied when tightened for room near 900m.
LUNA AZZURA – Steadied when tightened for room near 900m.
WILLYWYNYA – Checked near 900m. Held up over concluding stages and went to the line without being fully tested.
ACTIVE STAR – Raced wide for majority of the event.
SPECIAL ROSE- Rider S. Bayliss was issued with a reprimand for allowing his mount to shift out shortly after passing the winning post when not fully clear.
Race 3: RAISING HELL MAIDENWELL MAIDEN HCP 1200m
DANISH HOMBRE – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Steadied near 50m.
FLATOUT BEATIN’ – Slow to begin.
WONDERFUL WALLY – Hampered at the start.
FIELDS OF OXLEY – Blundered on jumping away.
WAY OUT – Raced wide for majority of the event. J. Missen was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 50m whilst under hard riding he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of DANISH HOMBRE forcing that runner into the racing line of SHEZ NO DYL, resulting in that runner having to be checked by its rider. J. Missen’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 6 meeting, to be served concurrently with his previous suspension from race one.
ACADANE – Difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn. Held up from the 200m until near the 100m.
SHEZ NO DYL – Checked near 50m.
Race 4: HERITAGE NANANGO MARDI GRAS CUP B’MARK 65 1200m
DESERT LAIR – Slow to begin.
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reasons why S. Drake was dislodged from MIDNIGHT ACE near the 700m, after taking initial evidence from riders in the vicinity and viewing the patrol films, stewards adjourned the inquiry to allow S. Drake to be present at the inquiry. S. Drake was subsequently transported to Kingaroy Hospital for further observation.
REALEASE ME – Checked and lost significant ground near the 700m.
ARCTIC RED, FISCAL CLIFF and ROSE SOFIA were all inconvienienced to various degrees near the 700m.
Race 5: HERITAGE LODGE NANANGO CLASS B HCP 1600m
When LADY HORSEPOWER anticipated the start and broke through its barrier resulting in the rest of the barriers opening, the starter sounded the false start signal. As a majority of the field were unaware that the false start had been signalled and continued on with the race. Stewards acting on the advice from the starter and also baring in mind that a majority of the field had completed a lap of the track, Declared the race a No race under the provisions of AR139, and ordered all monies invested be refunded.
