General This meeting was conducted under the conditions of the Queensland Community Racing Scheme (QCRS). No Photo Finish operated at this meeting. All prizes were in the form of trophies only. The only professional riders who rode at this meeting were John DAGAN, Les CRITOPH and Michael HARRIS . All other riders who competed were licensed Approved Riders. All races started by means of flag start. Minimum Weight for all races = 70kg.
Race 1: LUKE WESTAWAY TOPX – RICHMOND (RESTRICTED TROPHY 2 RACE) – W.F.A. – 1200 Metres. (7 Starters).
1st - ABAGNALE 2nd - KALINGA TASH - 3rd - THREE RING CIRCUS 4th - HURRY HOME.
MISTER BRUMBY (Ms R.Solway) was slow into stride as the flag start was effected and lost some two lengths. TORNADO GOLD (D.Owens) was slow into stride as the flag start was effected and lost some ten lengths. THREE RING CIRCUS (M. Harris) raced wide rounding the home turn and in the straight.
Race 2: INLAND BRAHMAN MAIDEN. W.F.A. -1 000 Metres. ( 2 Starters).
1st - KALINGA PARKER 2nd - EBONY FOX (NZ) 3rd - N/A 4t h- N/A
No incidents in running. Only starters.
Race 3: RICE FAMILY BRACELET- OPEN TROPHY RACE- W.F.A. –
1600 Metres ( 5 Starters).
1st - A PROMISE 2nd - BLEIGHSBOY 3rd - SUNACLANG
4th – BELYANDO
As the flag start was effected BELYANDO (D.Owens) jumped up over the rill and attempted to rear almost unseating Jockey Owens and thereby lost some six lengths. THUNDER TIME (M.Davey) lost some 100 metres as the flag start was effected as the result of the gelding doing 360 degree turns. SUNACLANG (W.DREGAN) was found to be lame on pulling up. A subsequent Veterinary Examination found the gelding to be lame (Grade 2), in the near side hind – bowed tendon, R.S.C. Veterinary Incident Report No. 2362 refers. The Trainer Mr. J. LINDSAY has been informed that a Veterinary clearance will be required before the gelding can race again.
Race 4: GEARY-NEWPORT – BARR FAMILY (RESTRICTED TROPHY 4 RACE). SET WEIGHTS. ( 7 Starters).
1st - YAMADO 2nd - SAFE LANDING 3rd - PURITAN MAN
4th - CERRETO’S BOY.
AS IF SHE KNOWS was a late scratching from this race at 12.45pm as the result of a Veterinary Certificate being produced advising that the mare was lame in the near front. Stewards ordered this Veterinary Examination after being advised that the mare was sore. R.S.C. Injury Report No. 2363 refers. The Trainer has been advised that a Veterinary Certificate will have to be produced advising of the mare’s fitness to race before the mare can again race. POLISKY (Ms R.Solway) and TINGO’S RETURN (J.Dagan) were both slow into stride and each lost two lengths as the flag start was effected.
Race 5: JACK WEARING MEMORIAL (OPEN TROPHY RACE). W.F.A. – 1000 Metres. (7 Starters).
1st - HOUSE OF HORRORS 2nd - MR WYNDAM 3rd - BOB’S COUNTY 4th - NIP OF BRONZE
CREOLASKA (Ms R.Solway) lost about one length as the flag start was effected. At about the 800 metres CREOLASCA crossed to the front of COMPACT CURVES (J.Kearney) and COMPACT CURVES was eased slightly and then over reacted and shifted outwards several horses which resulted in HOUSE OF HORRORS which was racing on its outside being taken wider on the track. At the 650 metres turn COMPACT CURVES continued shifting outwards taking HOUSE OF HORRORS out past the centre of the track. In the circumstances Stewards deemed that no rider was responsible for the incident and the incident was due to the over reaction of COMPACT CURVES.
Race 6: . SUNCORP- RICHMOND( OPEN TROPHY RACE). W.F.A. –

4th - OFF BROADWAY
CROWN COUNSEL (M.Harris) started from the extreme outside of the track and lost several lengths as the result and then raced very wide throughout. OFF BROADWAY (W. Drenan) lost some six lengths as the flag start was effected. PENNY’S SISTER (M.Davey) lost some four lengths as the flag start was effected.
Race 7: LETHBRIDGE TRANSPORT (RESTRICTED TROPHY 3 RACE). – 1000 Metres. (8 Starters).
1st - VICTORY DOLLAR 2nd - ABAGNALE 3rd - KALINGA TOWN
4th NATIVE BARON
CONTENTION (L.Critoph) was slow into stride as the flag start was effected losing some ten lengths. NATIVE BARON (D.OWENS) was slow into stride as the flag start was effected losing some two lengths and then was forced to race very wide on the 700 metre turn and home turn. PAPERMATE (Ms R.SOLWAY) was slow into stride as the flag start was effected losing some two lengths.
