Apprentice D. Foster was fined the sum of $450 under AR92(12) for failing to claim his full allowance on the following runners, Race 3 TAILSENND, RACE 4 MAIN GAME and Race 5 MEDOWIE MOTIVATOR.

Race 1: MACLEAN PARTNERS/ALL SOULS & ST GABRIELS SCHOOL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE. Distance - 1000m. ( 7 Starters).
1st - DUCHENNE 2nd - DRIVESHAFT (NZ) 3rd - NIFTY NELLIE 4th - BAXTER’S BABE

PERUGINO PARK was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 12.30pm as no rider was available.

BRISK STREET (P.Cullen) which reared in the mounting yard was declared a late withdrawal at 1.25pm by order of the Stewards after P. Cullen was injured. Subsequently P. Cullen was transported to Hughenden Base Hospital for further observation.

Whilst parading behind the barriers SHE’S RUSHIN (F.Edwards) dislodged F. Edwards and completed a lap of the track riderless. SHE’S RUSHIN was declared a late withdrawal at 1.29pm by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice. On declaration of correct weight Stewards declared that all bets placed on SHE’S RUSHIN and BRISK STREET to be refunded and all winning wages made prior to 1.25pm be paid less 24cents in the win and less 23cents in the place on the face value of the ticket. Furthermore that all winning wages made between 1.25pm and 1.29pm be paid less 16 cents in the win and less 14 cents in the place on the face value of the ticket.


G. Forster the trainer of BIG SLOT (Ms R. SEYMOUR) ,which raced uncompetitively throughout the event was advised that the BIG SLOT would have to complete a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being permitted to start in a race.


Race 2: BILL DALE MEMORIAL CLASS ”B” HANDICAP. Distance - 1000m. ( 7 Starters).
1st - PERUGIAN SPIRIT 2nd - BEAUCAPPA 3rd - NO COVER
4th - CRACK THE CASE.

Ms R.Seymour replaced P.Cullen as the rider of GUNASARA.

WHIZ FIZZER (J.Long) was slow to begin.

WHIZ FIZZER raced wide throughout the event.

Race 3: COLEMAN STOCK FEEDS/RIGROSS BUTTON CLASS 4 HANDICAP. Distance - 1200m. ( 7 Starters).
1st - PRINCE OF YODELLS 2nd - SHELF SPACE 3rd - ANNIE LUCK
4th - MICHIGAN

F.Edwards replaced P.Cullen as the rider of ANNIE LUCK.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of EIGHTHDAN, C . GILBY stated that after being slow to begin the gelding failed to muster pace and in his opinion resented that dirt kickback. Trainer T. Austin was at a loss to explain the horse’s performance and was advised by Stewards that EIGHTHDAN would have to complete a Barrier Jumpout to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being permitted to start in a race.


Race 4: HUGHENDEN AGRIBUSINESS/STAR SUPERMARKET/FOSSIL TRAIL OPEN HANDICAP. Distance - 1400m. ( 8 Starters).
1st - STAY TRUE 2nd - MIGHTY MITE 3rd - MAIN GAME
4th - NASTY LION

Ms R.Seymour replaced P.Cullen as the rider of MIGHTY MITE.

Race 5: PARRY NISSAN JOYCE KRIESEL MEMORIAL PRAIRIE CUP. Class “6” HANDICAP. Distance - 1800m. ( 8 Starters).
1st - LINE BY LINE and NAPPER TANDY (NZ) 3rd - CHIEF RED FEATHER 4th - ARGUED

W.Kenning replaced P.Cullen as the rider of ARGUED.

BEACONSFIELD MINER (C.Gilby) was slow to begin.

A delay in correct weight was caused due to a malfunction with the Photo Finish equipment. After consultation with the Judge and viewing the official patrol films Stewards were satisfied with the Judge’s decision and declared correct weight.
