STEWARDS REPORT

RICHMOND TURF CLUB INC – 5 NOVEMBER 2002

WEATHER: Hot TRACK: Good

STEWARDS PRESENT: K.M. Braunberger (chairman), K. Hayward
SCRATCHINGS:
RACE 1: MR HAVOC – Scratched by stewards at 12.55pm due to the non arrival on the track.
RACE 4: CALL ME BUCK – For veterinary reasons.

RACE 1: PLUTO PASTORAL COMPANY MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
Stewards will request an explanation from trainer D. Wakeford into the reason Mr Havoc was not scratched until stewards found it not to be on course.

FOREVER BLESSED was slow to jump as the start was affected missing the start by approximately 2 lengths.

NIGHT OF GLORE hung out from the 500 to 400 metres point of the race. Jockey J. Camilleri reported that the horse had a tendency to hang throughout the race and was at its worse at the 500 metre point. Connections were advised to ensure the horse performs in the desired manner. A warning was placed on the horse.

RACE 2: R.V.S. MOLASSES CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 800 METRES
STOLEN SILVER jumped awkwardly as the start was affected.

RACE 3: RICHMOND MOTORS CLASS 6 HANDICAP - 1100 METRES
No racing incidents.

RACE 4: SUNCORP METWAY CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES
ASPEN RACER stood in the barrier and refused to leave as the gates opened missing the start by approximatley 20 lengths. Jockey T. Hill advised stewards that the horse hit the front gate prior to the start and then backed into the rear gate where it remained. A warning was placed on the horse.

RACE 5: C.E. MCGUIRE AND H.F. JONES MEMORIAL HANDICAP - 1200 METRES
SPLASH O’ CASH jumped outwards and bumped PRO LOVE as the start was affected.

SPLASH O’ CASH was inconvenienced at the 800 metre point due to EXACTING shifting ground at this point. Apprentice D. Lockwood, the rider of EXACTING, stated that the horse shifted in taking her unawares; she immediately pulled the horse out. Apprentice Lockwood was reminded of her obligation in relation to the tightening of other runners.

Swab samples were taken from all winners.
All horses were inspected and identified.
