Jockey M.Cullen rode ROCKIN’ THE CROWN, such engagement was not included in the racebook. No racing incidents.
Race 2: LT COLONEL MURRAY VICTORIA CROSS “CLASS ‘B’ HANDICAP Distance - 1000m. (6 Starters).
1st - CENTGEORGE 2nd - SORROWFUL 3rd - RUSTY RAUTAI 4TH
ARM A GUARD-
IRISH EDITION was scratched by Stewards at 12.25pm as no rider was available and neither the connections nor the horse were on track.
RUSTY RAUTAI (M.Cullen), broke through the front of the gates and was immediately restrained. RENDERER (D.Jones) sat down and became wedged under the rear of the starting gate which temporarily injured Jockey JONES’ right knee. A subsequent Veterinary Inspection of RENDERER revealed that the horse was not fit to start. Subsequently RENDERER was declared a late scratching at 2.22pm by Stewards acting on vets advice. An examination of Jockey JONES by oncourse Q.A.S. recommended that he was unfit to ride in this race.
On the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on RENDERER were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 37 cents in the dollar on the face value of all win bets placed prior to 2.22pm and 31 cents in dollar on the face value of all place bets placed prior to 2.22pm be applicable. No incidents in running.
Race 3: W.J. & VM HARRINGTON & DAUGHTER ANNIE MEMORIAL
CORAL SEA OPEN HANDICAP Distance - 1000m. ( 6 Starters).
1st - MONTORO 2nd - RUSTIC RAMBLER 3rd - LAUDERDALE LORD 4th - SPECIAL CELESTE
POSTCARD BANDIT was scratched by Stewards at 2.25pm as both the horse and connections were not on course. Apprentice J.Rudd who had been engaged to ride the horse was present on course. An inquiry will be opened at a future date. MR. QIGONG (K.Ballard) which was forced to race wide at the 800 metres. At the winning post Mr.QIGONG (K. Ballard) had to be eased off the heels of LAUDERDALE LORD (M.Cullen) which was tiring.
Race 4: : CRAIGLEA STUD – RAHEEN STUD – DROUGHTMASTER / PALMADAY– MARRS FURNITURE REMOVALS FOSSIL TRAIL SERIES – CLASS 5 HANDICAP– Distance - 1200m. (7 Starters).
1st - GODLEN TIME 2nd - CHECOTAH 3rd - STOMPEY SEPOY
4th - REGAL KELLINA
JAGDEM was scratched by Stewards at 2.25pm as the horse was not on course and no rider was available. REGAL KELLINA (M. Cullen) and BRASS CUTTER (J.Rudd) were slow into stride. GOLD STARS ( D.Jones) was forced to race wide rounding the home turn.
Race 5: GALLIPOLI CLASS 3 PLATE Distance - 1400m. ( 7 Starters).
1st - BRANCH 2nd - ANTICIPATION 3rd - RAPID LOVER
4th - LUKE TOMAHAWK
RAIATEA (M.CULLEN) was slow into stride. RAPID LOVER (D.Jones) race wide rounding the home turn.

Race 2. SANGELLO was scratched prior to scratching time. No rider was available at that time.
IRISH EDITION, (the horse and connections failed to arrive on course), was scratched by stewards at 12.35pm as no rider was available.
RENDERER was withdrawn by Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 2.22pm following an incident in the barriers.
Race 3. POSTCARD BANDIT was a late scratching at 2.25pm after it failed to arrive on course. A rider was available.
Race 4. JAGDEM, (neither the horse nor connections arrived on course), was scratched at 2.25pm as no rider was available.
General
Only seven riders attended this meeting which necessitated scratchings in two races. The first race was delayed for sometime after damage was found the running rail where horses enter onto the track inside the course proper. This was repaired prior to the commencement of the meeting.
