Race 1: Pluto Pastoral Company Maiden Plate - 1000 Metres

DESERT SWEEP (S. Mossman) knuckled at the start and lost ground.
Rounding the home turn BOLD OUTBACK (K. Ballard), raced in restricted room between CLASSIC CADILLAC (T. Brummell) and DESERT SWEEP. Jockey K. BALLARD reported that this incident did not affected BOLD OUTBACK’S performance and it was under pressure at this stage of the race.
Jockey D. Ballard reported that PINHEIROS which begun with the field, was unable to muster sufficient speed in the early stages of the event to maintain contact with the field.
Race 2: 5 Star Supermarket Class 5 Handicap - 1000 Metres
1st – Beyond The Limit 2nd – Three Little Words 3rd – Zsazsa 4th – Native Hunter
ZSAZSA (T. Hill) raced wide rounding the home turn.
BROMAR (R. Sue-San) commenced to lose ground shortly after the start and failed to take any competitive part in the event. Jockey R. Sue-San advised the gelding was coming back from 1600 metres at its last start and has had poor recent form, but he could offer no other reason for the poor performance today. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to locate anything amiss with the gelding.
Race 3: Richmond Motors Class B Handicap – 1200 Metres
1st – Frangela 2nd – Suddenly Sweet 3rd – Razicrew 4th – Genorell
Trainer T. Parry advised Stewards that CLEATS was scratched that there was no suitable rider available at the declared weight.
SUDDENLY SWEET (T. Brummell) was fractious in the barriers at which point its near hind leg became momentarily cast. SUDDENLY SWEET knuckled on jumping and shifted in abruptly causing it to lose ground at the start. A post-race veterinary examination of SUDDENLY SWEET failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer R. Herman advised that the gelding was showing no signs of injury after the event.
NOTABLE (T. Hill) began awkwardly and was subsequently slow into stride.
GENORELL (S. Mossman) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 4: Suncorp Metway Class 3 Plate - 1400 Metres
1st – Puffed 2nd – Renegades 3rd – Nifty Nellie 4th – Don’tstop Believin
AVOID THE COST (S. Mossman) knuckled on jumping.
INCENDIO (D. Ballard) raced wide rounding the home turn.
Race 5: Crosby Brosnan & Creen Open Handicap - 1400 Metres
1st – Repeat Offender 2nd – Known Prospect 3rd – Premixa 4th – Zip It Off
Jockey D. Ballard was permitted to ride PREMIXA three kilograms overweight as no other suitable rider was available. A public announcement was made to this affect.
FAT POSSUM (K. Ballard), MOSSTANG (T. Brummell) and OLD FLAME (C. Gilby) all raced wide rounding the home turn.
