RACING:
RACE 1 MAIDEN HCP. 1300 METRES - (10 STARTERS) D. Lloyd replaced P. Moodie as the rider of FEELING STRONG due to Phillip Moodie being unable to make the allotted weight.
TILBA ROSE (M. Barnham) jumped awkwardly.
KASAROVA (C Beets) was slow to muster early speed.
Approaching the 800 metres LAURINEL GAL (J. Piper) had to be steadied when getting up onto the heels of KWILA’S MISS (MJ Stephens) which resulted in KULA SHAKER (D. Evans) having to be restrained. This further resulted in HARAKKA (D. Rewald) which was trailing these runners having to be steadied.
Approaching the 200 metres NAVIGATING (G. Booth) was inclined to shift out under pressure resulting in HARAKKA (D. Rewald) being obliged to alter course. G. Booth was advised to exercise care in similar situations.
Over the concluding stages KULA SHAKER was inclined to shift out when placed under pressure.
RACE 2 2YO MAIDEN HCP. 1100 METRES - (13 STARTERS) The start was delayed due to the bridle having to be replaced on AGILE WARRIOR.
Upon being loaded BRISTOL (J. Stephens) was fractious in the barriers.
At the start SARANEE (D. Craven) jumped awkwardly.
In the early stages BRISTOL raced greenly.
Approaching the 800 metres EDTIH’S WAY (C. Beets) had to be steadied momentarily when slightly crowded by SARANEE which shifted in. D. Craven, rider of SARANEE, was advised to exercise care in similar situations.
Approaching the 500 metres GRANDIE JACK (D. Whitmore) struck the running rail.
Over the concluding 200 metres EDITH’S WAY (C. Beets) was obliged to alter course to obtain clear running.
Approaching the 100 metres EDITH’S WAS (C. Beets) shifted in under pressure, resulting in RIVERTAAN (D. Evans) having to be steadied. C. Beets rider of EDITH’S WAY was advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar situation.
RACE 3 3YO CLASS 3 HCP. 1200 METRES - (8 STARTERS) At the start WANCHA (A. Pattillo) jumped outwards making contact with HIGH POWERED (M. Barnham) causing crowding to GOGO JAFFA (C. Beets).
Approaching the 1000 metres GOGO JAFFA (C. Beets) which was racing keenly, had to be restrained off the heels of WANCHA.
Approaching the 600 metres COUNTY JET (M. Unwin) shifted out and made contact with KWILA LAD (J. Piper) causing that gelding to go wider on the track.
Approaching the 400 metres WANCHA was slightly hampered when crowded by OVER THE ODDS (M. Goodwin).
A veterinary inspection of AIRLINE revealed that the gelding had received lacerations to the near hind and was stepping short in the off hind.
RACE 4 CLASS 1 HCP 1200 METRES - (14 STARTERS) G. Booth replaced M. Goodwin as the rider of MAYBE MAGIC due to a discrepancy with the engagement of riders. Mr. Schultz trainer of MAYBE MAGIC was advised that in similar circumstances he was to contact stewards in the event of having difficulty in obtaining a rider.
At the start MAYBE MAGIC (G. Booth) and SIR JEST (D. Rewald) came together.
Approaching the 150 metres SPEED FLIRT (D. Whitmore) had to be steadied when crowded for room by ARBEE (P. Moodie) which shied off the heels of FRIANDISE (D. Craven).
M. Unwin rider of SOVEREIGN CHALICE (M. Unwin) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that he permitted his mount to shifted in when insufficiently clear of MIGHTY MAN (M. Goodwin) which resulted in that gelding having to be checked when making contact with PIMPALA MAGIC (D. Lloyd). Steward took into consideration M. Unwins’ good riding record and his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 Capricornia Racing Association race meeting. He was permitted to fulfil his engagements at the Dingo Race Meeting on the 15th July, 2000 and at the expiration of the meeting would see the commencement of his suspension, expiring midnight 22nd July, 2000.
RACE 5 CLASS 4 HCP. 1200 METRES - (13 STARTERS) G. Booth replaced P. Moodie as the rider of IRISH CONNECTION due to P. Moodie being overweight.

RACE 7 CLASS 2 HCP 1400 METRES – (13 STARTERS): Approaching the 1000 metres REGENT GOLD (M. Unwin) was placed in restricted running when crowded by MAHARAJAH’S GREY (M. Barnham) which was hampered by MONOCLE (D. Evans) which blundered when racing tightly to the inside of SILENT BITE (P. Moodie). It was established that Phillip Moodie rider of SILENT BITE, had permitted his mount to shift in and have the runners to the inside racing in a tight situation, however it was evident upon perusal of the patrol films that P. Moodie corrected the tendency of his mount to shift in. Stewards advised P. Moodie to exercise care when placed in a similar situation.
RACE 8 SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP 1600 METRES – (11 STARTERS): No racing incidents.

BOOKMAKERS: 2 bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
