STEWARDS REPORT – TUESDAY 13TH NOVEMBER, 2001
STEWARDS: J. BOON (CHAIRMAN), N. FOX, S. WALSH, G. SCOTT
WEATHER: FINE TRACK: GOOD

GENERAL

C. Lisle licenced trainer with the Queensland Principal Club, was found guilty of a breach AR8e in that his conduct and negligence had led to a breach of the rules on Friday 5th October, 2001. Trainer C. Lisle was fined the sum of $500.

RACING:
RACE 1 SUPER QRIS 2YO MAIDEN HCP. 1000 METRES (13 STARTERS) YARRAMIN NURI (R. Mules) was slow to begin.
HIT THE KICK (B. Appo) jumped awkwardly.
BON SIMONE (J. Felix) jumped outwards and hampered JAYDEE (D. Johnston) resulting in that filly being slow to begin. BON SIMONE then attempted to buck for a distance of approximately 250 metres. Lyn Sullivan trainer of BON SIMONE was advised by stewards that the filly would be required to trial to the satisfaction of steward prior to racing again.
Approaching the 800 metres REIMS (J. Stephens) dipped.
Approaching the 250 metres LAURISTAN (G. Evans) had to be steadied when crowded by JAYDEE which shifted out. D. Johnston rider of was advised to exercise care when placed in similar situations.

RACE 2 CLASS 2 HCP. 1000 METRES (9 STARTERS). Prior to the start the gates opened on barrier stall number 2 containing DANCING LIMO, G. Evans rider of DANCING LIMO was able to restrain his mount and prevent it from jumping. Shortly after this the gates opened on stall number 3, resulting in D’FLYER (D. Johnston) jumping out before being quickly restrained.
FLASH MIST (C. Clarke) was slow to begin.
MILLERS GUIDE (W. Welburn) was fractious in the barriers and upon the gates opening was slow to begin.
Approaching the 600 metres SUBSIDY (W. Schmidt) dipped after improving onto the heels of LAIRY AZ (M. Unwin), resulting in D’FLYER which was racing behind SUBSIDY, to lose ground.
Approaching the 400 metres MILLERS GUIDE was placed in restricted racing room by FLASH MIST (C. Clarke) which shifted in under pressure. C Clarke rider of FLASH MIST was advised to exercise care when placed in similar situations.

RACE 3 MAIDEN HCP 1200 METRES (16 STARTERS) TEE VEE TUMBLE (D. Simmons) jumped awkwardly.
ANAJARA (J. Felix) and ON HIS OWN (D. Johnston) both jumped awkwardly and were slow to begin.
Over the concluding stages LOUBETH (W. Welburn) was obliged to alter course when crowded for room by RHUM NEGRITA (M. Unwin) which shifted in over when placed under pressure. M. Unwin , was advised to exercise care when placed in similar situations.
F. Okawa (a) rider of JACOBIN was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that he permitted his mount to shift in at a point nearing the 750 metres when not clear of TEE VEE TUMBLE (D. Simmons) which placed that runner in restricted running and in onto the heels of PRINCE LES (D. Whitmore) which ultimately lead to TEE VEE TUMBLE blundering and dislodging its rider D. Simmons.
F. Okawa (a) licence was suspended for 1 calendar month to commence immediately and expire on the 13/12/01.




RACE 4 CLASS 6 HCP 1100 METRES (6 STARTERS). W. Welburn replaced D. Simmons as the rider of YALLAH’S POLONAISE.
MISTLAK (J. Felix) jumped awkwardly.

RACE 5 3YO CLASS 1 HCP. 1100 METRES (11 STARTERS) J. Felix replaced D. Simmons as the rider of JETAWONG.
ERADICATOR (J. Stephens) and CROWN HEIR (M. Unwin) made contact on jumping.
MISTY RIVER (D. Whitmore) and MISTER PO (M. Barnham) made contact on jumping.
MISTY RIVER raced wide throughout.

RACE 6 CLASS 4 HCP 1300 METRES (10 STARTERS) D. Whitmore replaced D. Simmons as the rider of BATU.
Upon returning to the mounting yard CLICKETY CLICK (W. Welburn) had sustained internal haemorrhaging. Mr. Seymour trainer of CLICKETY CLICK was advised that the gelding would be stood down for the mandatory 3 months and was further advised that CLICKETY CLICK would be required to gallop over 1000 metres the presence of stewards.

RACE 7 OPEN HCP 1800 METRES (10 STARTERS) WHISKY A PO PO (W. Welburn) jumped inwards and hampered CALL ME SPLINTER (B. Appo).
Upon return to scale D. Johnston rider of AFTER YOU requested to view the stewards patrol film with the view of lodging an objection against the winner being CALL ME SPLINTER (B. Appo). After viewing the film D. Johnston declined to proceed with any objection.
It was established that AFTER YOU was placed in restricted racing room to the inside of CALL ME SPLINTER at a point nearing the 150 metres and that his mount was struck with a whip, which obliged D. Johnston rider of AFTER YOU to alter course to obtain clear running.

RACE 8 OPEN HCP 1400 METRES (10 STARTERS) B. Appo replaced D. Simmons as the rider of SEMI LUSKIN.
BILBO (J. Felix) jumped outwards hampering CARRARA LAD (J. Stephens).
SEMI LUSKIN (B. Appo) jumped awkwardly and as a result was slow.

BOOKMAKERS: Four (4) bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and the samples collected were forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
