WEATHER –FINE TRACK – GOOD

RAIL – Short Course – Out 3m from 1300m to 800m. Out 2m from 800m to winning post.
RAIL – Long Course – Out 5m from 800m to 400m. Cutaway at 400m.

GENERAL:
Justin Stanley injured in race fall, unavailable for meeting.
Replaced by P Hammersley on GRANDE SEQUALO in Race 1.
Replaced on R Mules on MIDNIGHT PILL in Race 3.
Replaced by A Lane on DEFAMATION in Race 5.
Replaced by A Lane on LUCKY EYES in Race 6.

During the afternoon Stewards conducted an inspection of all riders’ gear for safety purposes.

RACE 1: CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1000M
Slight delay due to a fault in the fence at about 450 metres being rectified by ground staff.
FROSTY STAR shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages in the straight slightly hampering GRANDE SEQUALO.
STOP WATCH shifted out over the concluding stages.

RACE 2: OPEN WEIGHT FOR AGE – 1000M
Apprentice J Foster fined $50 for the use of inappropriate language in the weighing area AR83(a).

RACE 3: QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M
THE TREE (P Hammersley) jumped inwards on to DOUBLE YOU (B Appo).
DOUBLE YOU raced erratically throughout and was ordered by stewards to barrier trail in company with other horses to the satisfaction of stewards before being renominated.

RACE 4: CLASS 6 PLATE – 1300M
IT ALL ADDS UP (C Beets) jumped in the air as the gates opened.

RACE 5: CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1300M

RACE 6: CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1100M
Apprentice T Mathieson fined $50 for failing to claim her full allowance on AUBAN LASS. As no suitable replacement was available she was permitted to ride that horse.
LUCKY EYES (A Lane) jumped in on to PUNTERS REWARD (B Appo) as the gates opened.

RACE 7: MAIDEN PLATE – 1600M
Shortly after the start RAISE THE RAIN (R Mules) shifted out coming in to contact with GOD BLESS HIM (G Evans).
When questioned by Stewards regarding the disappointing performance of DANGLE, M Evans reported that DANGLE had failed to respond at any stage of the race.
MISS FONTEYN (H Watanabe) shifted out over the concluding stages.

RACE 8: CLASS 3 PLATE – 1500M
TYCOON TED (A Lane) jumped inwards.
ANOTHER POWER (G Booth) was slowly away.
REPRENDRE (J Baker) rolled in and struck the running rail of its own accord on a number of occasions from the 900 to the 600 metres.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.

FOUR BOOKMAKERS FIELDED AT THE MEETING.
