RAIL – Long Course – Out 2m 1000m to 600m
GENERAL
M Crouch fined $50 late rider TOBIANA
RACE 1: CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1500M
TOBIANA (D Evans) jumped outwards as the gates opened.
RACE 2: CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1000M
MRS DENVER (N Day) jumped awkwardly striking the upright that caused N Day to lose his off side iron. It took him some distance to recover the iron and the horse lost ground in the process.
A veterinary examination of MRS DENVER after the race revealed that the horse had hit itself on the inside of the near hind pastern, had very infected mucous membranes and was slow to recover.
PICNIC POINT (D Whitmore) was stripped on the near side hind during the running of the race. The veterinarian reported that the horse had suffered damage to the lateral near side hind cannon.
RACE 3: OPEN H'CAP – 1000M
Nothing to report.
RACE 4: CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1000M
RESTORATION (S Quick) had to be steadied off the heels of SMART SET (M Bennett) at about the 700 metres when that horse tended to lay in.
RACE 5: MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
TURNERMAN (D Whitmore) raced greenly throughout.
ROUGH ENCOUNTER (C Beets) shifted out in the straight when struck with the whip.
RACE 6: SPECIAL CONDITIONS H'CAP – 1300M
BALLANULLY (M Bennett) fractious in the stalls and jumped awkwardly, losing ground.
Approaching the 300-metre mark, BALLANULLY was disappointed for a run when ATHENE’S STAR (T Mathieson) drifted out and again at the 75-metre mark when DANCE AT HOME (G Michaels) drifted in.
RACE 7: CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1300M
MY JUGAH (G Evans) jumped out and MYALLA HILLS (J Dagan) jumped inwards hampering MR AVALANCHE (D Whitemore) that was drawn between them.
RUSTY REGAL (R Mules) slowly away.
Shortly after the start MY JUGAH touched the heels of MACGNOME (M Goodwin) and blundered.
Shortly after the start MACGNOME had to ease when MYALLA HILLS (J Dagan) shifted towards the fence.
Apprentice J Dagan was warned for allowing his mount to shift in sharply in the early stages of the race.
RACE 8: CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1300M
TRIPLE CHANCE (M Barnham) hung on the home turn taking NO SHOW (D Whitmore) wide.
Shortly after straightening MY TRUE NORTH (G Booth) shifted out and away from KOHNRAY STAR (M Bennett) that was moving out to take a run. In doing so MY TRUE NORTH inconvenienced ORIANA LASS (C Beets) and LONG WAY TO RUN (N Day).
M Goodwin the rider of SHAGEMON was warned for allowing his mount to shift out over the concluding stages inconveniencing IRELAND (B Appo).
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
