GENERAL:
The adjourned inquiry from Rockhampton on 6th January 2005 was reconvened. Trainer D Bauer (AR175A) was fined $100 for conduct prejudicial for his remarks to Jockey Lacey Morrison.
A further adjourned inquiry was reconvened at which Trainer D Kilshaw pleaded guilty (AR118A) and was fined $100 for changing gear on SALVITAL on 6/1/2005 without the permission of Stewards.
On checking the race book Stewards found Race 5 was shown as a Class 4 when in fact it should have been a Class 1. This was found to be a clerical error when the book was printed.
Following race 2 an inquiry was opened into stable hand Evelyn Hearne having in her possession a syringe containing an alleged prohibited substance on the racecourse. Statements were taken from Trainer John Hearne, stable hand Evelyn Hearne and Dr Richard Olsen BVsc. Stewards took possession of the syringe and a quantity of blood stained cotton wool and a swab sample was taken from Ages Ago. The enquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed to allow further investigations to be conducted.
