Race 1: Special Condition Handicap – 1000 metres
1st: TOWN PLAYER 2nd: QUARTPOT 3rd CAP JUAN 4th: ENDING
GENERATOR, which was restless in the barriers, jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 800 metres, ENDING had to steady when tightened between DON SEQUALO, which shifted in, and CAP JUAN, which was taken out by CHIEF HARMONY.
Approaching the home turn, CHIEF HARMONY commenced to over-race, and had to be steadied off the heels of TOWN PLAYER.
At about the 100 metres, CAP JUAN shifted out under pressure, causing ENDING to be forced out, making contact with KID CHARLEMAGNE, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced.
GENERATOR raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Class 3 Handicap – 1100 metres
1st: MONTASHKA 2nd: BELLO GINO 3rd: ALLIEBERT 4th: THAT’S PALEFACE
BRUT was slowly away.
At about the 800 metres, GET CARTER had to be steadied from the heels of THAT’S PALEFACE, when racing in restricted room inside BOB’S BID.
Stewards enquired into the performance of BRUT. When questioned, trainer J Wigginton stated that he was unaware of the manner in which the horse raced, and therefore, could not give his jockey precise instructions. Jockey A Pattillo stated that he felt BRUT had not performed at its best, and something may have been amiss with the horse. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from a large haematoma to the right shoulder, which may have been caused by the horse striking the barrier.

Race 3: QTIS 2yo Handicap – 1200 metres
1st RUNNING SCARED 2nd JAZZOOM 3rd GUILTY 4th FORGOTTEN ACCENT
SHUKU was slowly away.
FORGOTTEN ACCENT jumped out at the start.
R Barone, the rider of FORGOTTEN ACCENT, accidentally dropped his whip at about the 150 metres.
HONEYBELLE struck the fence at about the 150 metres, when endeavoring to take a marginal run inside MILORA MAJOR which was weakening, and rolled in marginally.
When questioned regarding the poor run of SHUKU, apprentice C Pay reported that his saddle had slipped in the early stages, and proved difficult to ride throughout.

Race 4: QRSE Maiden Handicap Div 1 – 1200 metres
1st: PRIMODORO 2nd: LEA LISA 3rd: GO JACK 4th: INALA SISTERINA
DARE TO RULE was slowly away.
MON JEWELLER jumped outwards, making contact with ROYAL FESTIVAL, and at the same time, TWO UP jumped in, making contact with PRIMODORO.
Stewards enquired into an incident at about the 800 metre mark, where jockey D Whitmore (LEA LISA) had to check his horse to avoid the heels of AEROTIC, which was being dictated to by PRIMODORO (C Pay). Apprentice C Pay was reprimanded and reminded of his responsibilities.

Race 5: QRSE Maiden Handicap Div 2 –1200 metres
1st: MOONSHINER 2nd: KAAPTIVE BOUNTY 3rd: ZOETEKEN 4th CLASSITO
SAL VITAL, LADY SHERMAN and FIERY MELODY were all slow to begin.
At about the 1000 metres, HIGHTONIAN shifted in away from FIERY MELODY, which had shifted in marginally, despite the best efforts of its rider, resulting in SAL VITAL having to check.
SAL VITAL was disappointed for a run over the concluding stages.
About the 750 metres ZOETEKEN stepped in momentarily making contact with KAAPTIVE BOUNTY causing that horse to steady. ZOETEKEN then shifted out contacting MOONSHINER. In this incident HIGHTONIAN had to steady from the heels of KAAPTIVE BOUNTY resulting in EARLY TIME and TAKE THE CAKE being inconvenienced.

Race 6: Class 1 Handicap – 1200 metres
1st: BIG DAVE 2nd: SERIOUS HERO 3rd: PAMELA JEAN 4th: BUILT LIKE CLINT
ZED STREET was withdrawn at 3.02pm on advice from the starter, when that horse was unable to be loaded. Stewards ordered all monies on that horse to be refunded. Deductions of 12 cents a win and 11 cents a place were ordered. Trainer R Hay was advised that the horse would be required to barrier trial prior to next start.
HULA EXPRESS jumped in, making heavy contact with REGAL THEATRE.

Race 7: QRSE Open Handicap –1300 metres
1st: VICTORY SIREN 2nd: TYCOON TED 3rd: MR. BALLISTIC 4th: SHE’S DECENT
Prior to the start, BRUNT reared high in the stalls, and was removed from the barriers. A subsequent veterinary examination cleared the horse to start. However, as the gates opened the horse kicked out and struck the barriers Stewards ordered a post race veterinary examination of BRUNT, which revealed the horse to be lame in the right hind leg.
STREAM GUL was slowly away.
CRAIGLEA EGO dipped at the start.
A Pattillo the rider of 5th place getter SHE’S DECENT, lodged a protest against ROSIELEE MISS (C McIver) being declared 3rd, for alleged interference over the concluding stages of the race. After taking evidence from the jockeys and connections, stewards observations and viewing the videos, stewards upheld the protest, and amended the placings to 1st VICTORY SIREN 2nd TYCOON TED 3rd MR BALLISTIC 4th SHE’S DECENT and 5th ROSIELEE MISS.
At a subsequent enquiry, apprentice C McIver was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under (AR137(a)), in that he allowed his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear, causing REGAL ASCOT (D Whitmore) and SHE’S DECENT (A Pattillo) to be checked and TYCOON TED (M Evans) to be inconvenienced. Apprentice C McIvor’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of four (4) meetings, commencing at midnight 2/7/05 up to and including 16/7/05.
Jockey A Pattillo suffered an injury to his foot in the barriers.
Apprentices L Fyfe (CATERER) and B Hull (MR. BALLISTIC) were both fined $100 each under (AR92(12)) for failing to claim their full allowance.

Race 8: QTIS Class 2 Handicap – 1400 metres
1st: DRAVEEN 2nd: THE ROAN RANGER 3rd: FULL PORT 4th: CLOSED OUT
Stewards permitted the scratching of COLONIAL BILL at 9.20am on advice from trainer A Stephens that COLONIAL BILL was lame. A veterinary certificate to be provided.
IDIDIT MY WAY (NZ) had to be checked off the heels of THE ROAN RANGER, which shifted in sharply after the start.
DRAVEEN jumped inwards at the start.
THE ROAN RANGER drifted in over the concluding stages, and caused CLOSED OUT to shift in and inconvenience TRIUNFO.
IDIDIT MY WAY (NZ) was disappointed for a run over the concluding stages.
After the running of Race 8, owner M Dore lodged a complaint regarding the riding of IDIDIT MY WAY (NZ) by jockey M Bennett. Stewards took evidence from both M Dore and M Bennett, and after viewing the film, stewards took no further action.

Race 9: Class 5 Handicap –1400 metres
1st: SHAKESPEARIAN 2nd: CEARNAIGH 3rd: TRY SOME MAGIC 4th: SCANDAL PARK
Prior to the race, trainer J Wigginton (SHAKESPEARIAN), advised stewards that they intended to attempt to ride that horse from behind.
Due to aggravation of his foot injury, jockey A Pattillo was unable to fulfill his engagement on CORRIENTE on advice from ambulance staff. He was replaced by jockey K Yoshida.
BACKSTAGE GIRL was declared a late scratching at 4.02pm, acting on veterinary advice. A veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from colic.
MR. HEALY jumped in the air and lost ground.
MONEY BANDIT raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

GENERAL: Trainer K Stockdale was fined $100 under (LR43) for using an unlicenced stable hand.
