General:
From the meeting on 01/10/05 at Rockhampton jockey Mark Dale was unable to supply a urine sample when requested by stewards. Jockey Mark Dale was fined $250 and stood down from riding until he supplied a clear sample under rule AR81A(4). On 07/10/05 M Dale supplied a sample which was sent away for analysis and was cleared on 14/10/05.
Race 1 Class 4 Handicap – 1400 metres
1st NO MORE DREAMS 2nd FILZAO 3rd OUR JIM BEAU(NZ) 4th DANATINA
OUR JIM BEAU (NZ) jumped in at the start and GOLD STARS jumped out forcing CORRIENTE to be eased.
OUR JIM BEAU (NZ) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
NO MORE DREAMS hit the rail of its own accord at about the 500 metre mark.
Race 2 3yo & upwards Maiden Plate – 1500 metres
1st GAZE COUNTY 2nd PILLOWS 3rd MY DIAMOND DAN 4th FRA DE COSTA
IRONHIDE became fractious in the barriers and broke through completed a lap of the course. IRONHIDE was scratched buy order of the stewards at 1:52pm. Stewards ordered all monies on IRONHIDE to be refunded and deductions of 2 cents in the win and 3 cents in the place.
GAZE COUNTY was slowly away.
BUNBURY over-raced in the early and middle stages.
BUNBURY had to ease when attempting a run inside NATIVES GOLD which shifted in momentarily at approximately the 300 metre mark.
Trainer M Cooney was advised that a warning has been placed on IRONHIDE for it’s barrier manners.
Race 3 Class 2 Handicap – 1300 metres
1st IDIDIT MY WAY(NZ) 2nd CROWN ME SOME 3rd LEA LISA 4th SCARLET SARI
IDIDIT MY WAY (NZ) and REDSKIN came together at the start.
At about the 800 metre mark SCARLET SARI had to steady to avoid the heels of IDIDIT MY WAY(NZ) which shifted in.
CROWN ME SOME raced wide on the home turn.
Over the concluding stages IDIDIT MY WAY(NZ) shifted in under pressure inconveniencing LEA LISA and KINGS MIRROR which had to ease. D Whitmore the rider of IDIDIT MY WAY(NZ) was reprimanded by the stewards.
At approximately the 30 metre mark apprentice D Carrigg, the rider of KINGS MIRROR, was accidentally struck on the left arm by the whip of D Johnston the rider of LEA LISA.
Race 4 Open Handicap – 1300 metres
1st EXEMPLIFY 2nd PRIDE AND POWER 3rd TARAS SONG 4th SUNGIFT
TOTAL GLANCE weakened from the 400 metre mark. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
Race 5 QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate Handicap – 1000 metres
1st DECEIVING 2nd BEG MY PARDON 3rd RUBIES AND GOLD 4th NETORI
DANCE WARS was slowly away.
FINE SENSATION raced erratically and hung out on the home turn taking LILY OF THE WEST wider.
CARIBOO HILLS weakened badly in the straight. Stewards ordered a veterinary examination which revealed the horse to be muscle sore in the front.
Race 6 Class 1 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st SLEEPY LANE 2nd BELLE JANGLES 3rd MISS KANOOT 4th FOXIE EM
Stewards permitted trainer A Jones to scratch LIEUTENANT GENERAL due to the unsuitability of a rider. No deductions were needed as betting had not commenced.
HOME BEFORE DAWN refused to jump when the gates opened and took no part in the race. Trainer D Vale was advised that the horse would be required to pass a series of barrier trials prior to next start.
HEARPSIES POPPET ran about under pressure over the concluding stages.
