General:
16/11/05. Trainer T Cook confirmed to Chief Steward J Wallis via a phone call prior to 8.30am that Forever Bill had bled.
24/11/05. An inquiry was convened into the reported bleeding of FOREVER BILL following the meeting at Rockhampton on the 15th November 2005. Trainer Tim Cook stated unequivocally to Stewards that Forever Bill had bled from both nostrils after it had left the course and had been returned to its stable. Following this statement Stewards signed the document of description ‘bled 15/11/05’, notified Iris, HORSES and Registrar of Racehorses.
Personal effects of all riders in male and female jockey rooms were inspected for unauthorised equipment. Nothing was found.

Wise Thoughts slow into stride.
Apprentice C McIver was issued with a warning regarding his use of the whip on a beaten horse, Differential.
Race 2 Class 1 Handicap – 1600 metres
1st Pacific Sea 2nd Sweet Sachet 3rd Golly Gold 4th Destiny Rules
As the gates opened RUNDLE TWIST jumped outwards and MY DIAMOND DAN jumped inwards hampering KING OF SPURS and SWEET SACHET, which were drawn between them.
Leaving the 1100m SWEET SACHET shifted in momentarily causing KING OF SPURS to be steadied. D Lloyd the rider of SWEET SACHET was reminded of his responsibilities.
Trainer Don Critch and Jockey N Evans were questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of PILLOWS. N Evans explained that the horse had been slow to begin as usual and with the faster pace today was unable to be closer in the early stages. N Evans felt that the mare failed to respond and felt flat. Stewards ordered a veterinary inspection and a routine swab sample was taken. Explanations noted. The veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

REDSKIN was slow into stride.
An inquiry was opened in to the running and handling of CROWN ME SOME. Evidence was taken from Jockey N Evans and Trainer J O’Sing. The matter was adjourned to a date to be fixed to allow further witnesses to be called.
The farrier reported that AMBERACE was very poorly shod. Stewards inspected that horse and instructed the on course farrier to make repairs to the shoes to enable it to start. Trainer D Crouch will be contacted regarding the matter.
Race 4 QTIS 3&4 YO Maiden Handicap – 1000 metres
1st Follow My Dreams 2nd Smart Green 3rd Salubre 4th Craiglea Lily
As the gates opened BANANA JACK jumped awkwardly and outwards coming into contact with CRAIGLEA LILY.
SHADES OF COURAGE and VINTAGE ROYAL both raced wide.
EUCABALLO raced greenly in the early and middle stages.
SHADES OF COURAGE hung out on the home turn.
Race 5 Class 2 Handicap – 1000 metres

GLENDALE LAD was kicked behind the barriers and after a veterinary inspection was cleared to start.
PRINCESS FROLIC reared high in the barriers dislodging its rider, was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinarian and cleared to start.
Race 6 Maiden Handicap – 1200 metres

HONEY QUEEN and BISCAFAIR jumped awkwardly losing ground.
DRY SPELL raced greenly in the early stages.
An inquiry was held into an incident shortly after straightening in which DRY SPELL had to check when CHELSEANN shifted in taking its running. Jockey George Michaels pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) and was suspended from riding in races from 24/11/05 up to and including the 1/12/05. In assessing the penalty Stewards took into account his good record.
Race 7 Class 4 Handicap – 1200 metres

SIMON WATCH was slow into stride.
ALLIEBERT jumped out making contact with SIMON WATCH.
Leaving the 700m ALLIEBERT tended to over race and got its head in the air when being restrained.
Race 8 Open Handicap – 1100 metres

THE FALCON and SHAKESPEARIAN came together at the start.
MY TRUE NORTH over raced in the middle stages.
