Race 1: HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – KID KANAWA 2nd – LORD SUTCH 3rd – LOVE SNACK 4th – ALL THAT CASH

TEATREE (M Evans) and LOVE SNACK (M Cant) both began awkwardly.

LOVE SNACK (M Cant) which raced ungenerously for the majority of the event hung in approaching the 400m making contact with KID KANAWA (W Morris) and shortly after commenced to hang in leaving the 400m until near the 200m. J. Sherwood the trainer of LOVE SNACK was advised that a warning would be placed on that horses racing manners.

LORD SUTCH (N Day) raced greenly in the early and middle stages.







Race 2: TOOHEYS NEW CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000M.
1st – PRIMODORO 2nd – SPEEDEX 3rd – GIGGLING BOY 4th – CEE JAY TEE

ENDORPHIN (App C Gilby) became fractious in the barriers as the start was effected and as a result lost considerable ground. Trainer J Wigginton was advised that a warning would be placed on that horse in relation to its barrier manners.

Near the 500m CEE JAY TEE (App A Coome) had to be restrained off the heels of GIGGLING BOY (N Evans).

Race 3: HAHN SUPER DRY CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – RATHILLET 2nd – FINE SASHALY 3rd – DEADLY CLANG 4th – PRIVATE ASCOT

RENDERER (App C McIver) became fractious as the gates opened losing considerable ground. Trainer A Jones was advised that a warning would be placed on that horse in relation to its barrier manners.

CARIBOO HILLS (W Morris) began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start RATHILLET (App C Gilby) was tightened for room between BREAKFAST TALK (N Evans) and DODA (N Day) which shifted out.

Near the 500m CARIBOO HILLS (W Morris) had to be steadied and shift out around the heels of RATHILLET (App C Gilby) momentarily inconveniencing DEADLY CLANG (J Stephens). POSITIVE DIRECTION which was racing to the outside of CARIBOO HILLS was forced wider on the track. W Morris the rider of CARIBOO HILLS was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

POSITIVE DIRECTION (M Cant) had a tendency to lay in rounding the home turn.

Race 4: TED PLATINUM MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M.
1st – GRAND SECRET 2nd – ROYAL MOA 3rd – CYCLONE GEORGE 4th – HELL

N Mannion, the trainer of RIZZO THE RAT, was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR70 (1) (4) in that he failed to declare a rider for that horse by the prescribed time.

C Smith, the trainer of RODWAY SPRITE, was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR70 (1) (4) in that he failed to declare N Evans as rider of that horse by the prescribed time.

RODWAY SPRITE (N Evans) and GAMBLER’S WISH (App C McIver) began awkwardly.

HANDOUT THE ROSES (App E Hooper) was slow to begin.

DON’T TOY WITH ME (S Watkins) jumped in at the start making contact with FLUTERICH (App A Coome).

Shortly after the start HELL (App C Gilby) was tightened for room between CENTRAL GIRL (W Morris) which shifted out and GAMBLER’S WISH (App C McIver) which shifted in.

RODWAY SPRITE (N Evans) and HELL (App C Gilby) made contacted near the 1000m when both horses shifted ground.

Approaching the 900m DON’T TOY WITH ME (S Watkins) had a tendency to lay in placing FLUTERICH (App A Coome) in restricted room for a short distance.

At the 800m CYCLONE GEORGE (N Day) was momentarily tightened for room between FORGOTTEN SECRET (D Craven) which shifted out and RIZZO THE RAT (D Evans) which shifted in.

Near the 300mCENTRAL GIRL (W Morris) shifted in making contact with the running rail.

Leaving the 300m both FLUTERICH (App A Coome) was held up for clear running until near the 100m.

DON’T TOY WITH ME (S Watkins) was held up for clear running from the 300m until the winning post.

M Cant, the rider of ROYAL MOA, dropped his whip near the 300m.

JUST CONNIE (L Timson) GRAND SECRET (C Whiteley) and ROYAL MOA (M Cant) all raced wide for the majority of the event.



Race 5: XXXX BITTER CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M.
1st – SEEKING THE CROWN 2nd – REELIN AND ROCKIN 3rd – PRIVATE DODGE 4th – COBBI LAD

A Best, who failed to arrive on course was replaced by S Watkin, as the rider of AURAMII. At a subsequent inquiry, A Best, was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of AR85B.

As J Welburn, the rider of TINDAROO STAR, was unable to make the allotted weight he was replaced by M Usher.

SUNSHINE TYCOON (App C McIver) ONLY A FLING (L Timson) and MULTISUPER (D Craven) were all slow to begin.

VEILS DOUBLE (A Lane) began awkwardly.

Near the 800m TOONAK (App C Gilby) had a tendency to lay in crowding TINDAROO STAR (M Usher).

Approaching the 700m MULTISUPER (D Craven) raced up on to the heels of ONLY A FLING (L Timson) and had to be checked.

ONLY A FLING (L Timson) had trouble obtaining a clear run leaving the 400m until approaching the 200m.

EVADING (App A Coome), AURAMI (S Watkins) and AERO LASS (N Evans) all raced wide for the majority of the event.



Race 6: TOOHEYS EXTRA DRY CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1200M.
1st – SEQUALO BLUE 2nd – MADDISON COURT 3rd – ELLE’S ANGEL 4th – SHIFTING SANDS

As D Johnston was overweight he was replaced as the rider of ELLE’S ANGEL by D Evans.

ENCORES AND ROSES (App C McIver) began awkwardly losing ground.

MAPPERNIQUE (S Watkin) began awkwardly.

Approaching the 800m ENCORES AND ROSES (App C McIver) commenced to race ungenerously throwing its head in the air and shifted out across the heels of MAPPERNIQUE (S Watkin) and as a result was then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the race.

Approaching the 700m LIGHTON (M Cant) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of DIVINE POWER (L Timson) which shifted in.

A post race veterinary examination of MAPPERNIQUE revealed the gelding to have a laceration to the near hind leg.


Race 7: HEINEKEN CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1500M.
1st – DOUBLR RUM 2nd – FRISCO BOY 3rd – PACIFIC SEA 4th – TOP RANGE

DEXTROVERT (App C McIver) began awkwardly and lost ground.

Both SHOVE OVER (M Usher) and FRISCO BOY (App A Coome) were slow to begin and shortly after SHOVE OVER shifted out making contact with FRISCO BOY.

MOVE TO STRIKE (D Evans) raced wide for the majority of the event.

FRISCO BOY (App A Coome) was held up for clear running from the 500m until approximately the 300m

DOUBLE RUM (L Timson) shifted out to obtain clear running forcing BLIND MAN’S BLUFF (App C Gilby) wider on the track.

PACIFIC SEA (W Morris) was unable to obtain clear running leaving the 600m until near the 200m.

D Evans the rider of MOVE TO STRIKE was found guilty of a charge under AR137A (1) (b) in that he used the whip excessively on that horse when it was out of contention. D Evans was fined the sum of $100.00

Race 8: XXXX GOLD OPEN H’CAP – 1400M.
1st – LINK HOGTHROB 2nd – RAHERA 3rd – JUMPIN’ JARED 4th – YO KIDOKI

J Welburn, who was unable to make the allotted weight as the rider of RAHERA, was replaced by D Craven. At a subsequent inquiry J Welburn was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of AR 120(b).

As D Johnston was overweight he was replaced on LINK HOGTHROB by D Evans. D Johnston was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of AR120 (b).

Shortly after the start ROSIELEE MISS (App C McIver) was tightened for room between CHARLIE WON’T (C Whiteley) and YO KIDOKI (App A Coome) which was taken out by RAHERA (D Craven).

CHARLIE WON’T (C Whiteley) had a tendency to over race in the early stages.

LINK HOGTHROB (D Evans) had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 400m LINK HOGTHROB (D Evans) shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with JUMPIN’ JARED (S Watkin) for a short distance.
