Near the 600m FORGOTTEN SECRET (C Whiteley) had to be restrained and lost ground when tightened for room between MYSTERY WORLD (J Welburn) which shifted out slightly making contact with FORGOTTEN SECRET and REVOLVA (D Johnston) which shifted in. D Johnston the rider of REVOLVA was reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
Near the 400m RIZZO THE RAT (D Evans) shifted out making contact with FORGOTTEN SECRET (C Whiteley) which in turn shifted out hampering PROVOCATIVE MISS (J Stephens).
FINE SENSATION (L Timson) laid out over the concluding stages and near the 100m shifted out taking RIZZO THE RAT (D Evans) outwards resulting in PROVOCATIVE MISS (J Stephens) being hampered.
FINE SENSATION lost its off front plate during the race.

MR ENTERTAINMENT was declared a late scratching at 7.53am by order of stewards.
RAINBOW DANCER was declared a late scratching at 12.12pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. C Smith, the trainer of RAINBOW DANCER was advised that he must obtain a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to the horse’s next start.
GUDUNOV (J Stephens) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
Shortly after the start RATHILLET (App A Coome) commenced to over race and near the 800m improved up onto the heels of SHIFTING SANDS (C Whiteley) and when being restrained shifted out and made contact with DANWANA (N Day), then near the 500m again improved onto the heels SHIFTING SANDS and as a result clipped that horses heels and blundered.
On returning to scale a protest was lodged by C Whiteley, rider of the 2nd placegetter SHIFTING SANDS, against DANWANA (N Day) being declared the winner, alleging interference near the 200m. It was established that near the 200m DANWANA shifted in taking SHIFTING SANDS in onto ENDORPHINE resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and both riders having to restrain their mounts. Given the degree of interference and the margin which separated the relevant horses at the finish stewards upheld the protest and the judge’s placings were amended to read 6 - SHIFTING SANDS 1 – DANWANA 3 – ENDORPHIN – 4 GUDUNOV. At a subsequent inquiry, N Day the rider of DANWANA pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 200m he did allow his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of SHIFTING SANDS taking that horse in onto ENDORPHIN resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and having to be restrained. N Day’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 QLD meetings to commence at midnight Tuesday, 30th January 2007, and to expire at midnight, 9th February 2007.
Race 6: TED PLATINUM CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1200M.
1st – TENZERO 2nd – OUR MOE MAN 3rd – NO MORE DREAMS 4th – ORIGIN HERO
KING MIRROR (App T Bannon) began awkwardly and was then obliged to race wide for the majority of the event.
When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing of SEQUALO BLUE jockey W Morris stated that the horse may not have appreciated being restrained in the early stages of the race and it may have been better suited to let run along, he further added that in his opinion the gelding may be reaching the end of its preparation. Trainer L Rowe was at a loss to explain the horse’s performance but did concur with jockey Morris in relation to SEQUALO BLUE coming to the end of its preparation and advised steward’s that he would monitor the horse over the next couple of days before making a decision on its immediate racing future. Steward’s noted there explanations. A post race veterinary examination of SEQUALO BLUE failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

1st – OUR MORNING GLORY 2nd – PACIFIC SEA 3rd – LOVE GOD 4th – STRATEGIC WIN
BLIND MAN’S BLUFF shifted out abruptly on jumping away causing its rider D Evans to become unbalanced and be dislodged giving him a seemingly harmless fall.
T Cook, the trainer of BLIND MAN’S BLUFF stated that the horse had never before shown this trait and felt the removal of blinkers from the horse today may have attributed to the horses manners. Mr Cook further added that he would be placing blinkers back on the horse. Given BLIND MAN’S BLUFF’S good record stewards issued a warning against the gelding.
DON’T TELL ANNA (App T Bannon) shifted out near the 400m to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with FRISCO BOY (D Johnston) taking that horse wider on the track.
ALL WINNERS AND SEQUALO BLUE WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
