Race 1: DUNBAR BLOODSTOCK MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M.
1st – QUEEN BIRD 2nd – SHOW YOUR COLOURS 3rd – ALPHA OMEGA 4th – TARA GOLD
OTSELET (App L Dillon) blundered at the start and as a result shifted out making heavy contact with SANTA BRAGITA (W Morris).
Shortly after the start BUSHLEY BEAU (App A Coome) was tightened for room between DANE MARY (S Quick) and QUEEN BIRD (B Pengelly) both of which shifted ground.
LADY SHABANG (J Stephens) commenced to over race approaching the 1000m and had to be steadied, as a result, RED BANDANA (M Evans) which was following improved onto that runners heels and had to be steadied.
MR BEAN GREEN (D Evans) commenced to lay in under pressure leaving the 100m and near the 50m shifted in under hard riding inconveniencing LADY SHABANG (J Stephens). D Evans, the rider of MR BEAN GREEN, was reprimanded and reminded of his obligation to straighten his mounts when shifting ground.
Race 2: PATLAW SECURITIES CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1600M.
1st – PEGUNNY BOSS 2nd – LIGHT AFTER DARK 3rd – CLOSED OUT 4th – TIMBERS
BLISS MISS (M Cant) was slow to begin.
LIGHT AFTER DARK (App L Dillon) over raced in the early and middle stages and had to be restrained off the heels of ROJO DIOS (App D Peisley) for some distance.
DUST HAZE (D Johnston) shifted in near the 1100m making contact with ROJO DIOS (App D Peisley).
W Morris, the rider of TIMBERS, was found guilty of a charge under AR137 (b) and fined the sum of $350.00 in that he failed to ride TIMBERS out to the finish line over the final stages of the race when contesting third place. W Morris was given two months to pay the fine.
A post race veterinary examination of DUST HAZE failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 3: HARCOURTS ROCKHAMPTON CLASS 1 PLATE S/W – 1800M.
1st – WHERE’S THE SPARK 2nd – AERO LASS 3rd – SHAKERATO 4th – SHE’S NOTABLE
LANGS BOY (M Evans) shifted in approaching the 1300m causing CONTRACTUAL (W Morris) to be momentarily steadied.
KINGSLEY (N Day) shifted in near the 300m becoming unbalanced and again near the 200m.
LAND SHARK (D Evans) had a tendency to lay in approaching the 300m and near the 200m shifted in becoming awkward on the heels on SHAKERATO (App A Coome) forcing its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount, LAND SHARK continued to lay in for the remainder of the race proving difficult to ride out.
Race 4: PINE BEACH HOTEL OPEN H’CAP – 1800M.
1st – EARS TO VICTORY 2nd – JUMPIN’ JARED 3rd – LOVE GOD 4th – DEBONAIR
SPRING BLITZ (App C McIver) raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and as a result shifted wider on the track on the first turn out the straight.
As a result of the pace slackening near the 1100m MOVE TO STRIKE (D Evans) shifted wider on track in an effort to move forward and shortly after was restrained when unable to obtain the lead.
LOVE GOD (App L Dillon) was held up for clear running from the 400m until near the 300m.
Race 5: EAZIFLO MANAGEMENT PTY LTD CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – CALL THE ROLL 2nd – EASY DANCING 3rd – SEAGAZE 4th – WHAT A KASE
ALYCION (App N Thomas) which was fractious in the barriers prior to the start was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
CARIBOO HILLS (App D Peisley), FRENCH FROTH (App C McIver) and PLENTY OF ACTION (N Day) were all slow to begin.
SEAGAZE (D Evans) commenced to over race leaving the 500m becoming awkward on the heels of RUBIES AND GOLD (N Evans) and as a result shifted out making contact with EASY DANCING (B Pengelly) forcing that runner wider on the track.
EASY DANCING (B Pengelly) shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages forcing SEAGAZE (D Evans) to shift in. B Pengelly, the rider of EASY DANCING was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
Both FRENCH FROTH (App C McIver) and RUBIES AND GOLD (N Day) raced wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of CALL THE ROLL, R Sutton, the trainer of that runner stated that the mare’s fitness had improved being its third run back following a sixteen month spell and further that horse as in its previous forward showings, races much better when able to obtain the lead. Stewards noted his explanation.
Race 6: GEOFF WEBSTER LIVESTOCK & PROPERTY AGENCY 2YO H’CAP – 1100M.
1st – WATER CAPTAIN 2nd – MASSIAH 3rd – OPPS SORRY 4th – LION BRAVE
The start was delayed when PATMOSS (App N Thomas) took fright and cantered a short distance before being restrained. The start was further delayed when PLUCKY PRAWN (App C McIver) forced its barrier gates open and travelled a short distance before being restrained. On being returned back to the barriers both horses underwent a veterinary examination and were cleared to start.
BALLINDALLOCH (D Johnston) and DEE CEE DEE (W Morris) were both slow to begin.
LION BRAVE (App L Dillon) was tightened for room at the start between ZERANTE (App A Coome) and SNAGAPOT (M Barnham) both of which shifted ground. LION BRAVE lost ground as a result.
Shortly after the start SNAGAPOT (M Barnham) attempted to buck and as a result lost considerable ground. M Hicks, the trainer of SNAGAPOT, was advised the horse must perform in two official barrier trials to the steward’s satisfaction prior to being permitted to race again.
WENONA ROSE (D Evans) shifted out near the 800m forcing PLUCKY PRAWN (App C McIver) wider on the track. CHARLIES HERITAGE (N Evans) which was following had to be steadied.
MASSIAH (M Cant) raced greenly in the home straight and shifted in under pressure near the 50m making contact with OOPS SORRY (N Day).
PLUCKY PRAWN (App C McIver), WENONA ROSE (D Evans) and FOREVER PALS (S Quick) all raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 7: PATLAW SECURITIES AUTUMN CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL QTIS 3YO CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1300M.
1st – DANZAMONKEY 2nd – FORTY EIGHT CRASH 3rd – BEN BUCKLER 4th – EYELASHES
MY GREEN MACHINE (N Day) was tightened for room on jumping away between LAZLO (W Morris) and WEST GINDIAN (App N Thomas) which shifted out making heavy contact with MY GREEN MACHINE which lost ground as a result and then had tendency to over race in the early stages.
Shortly after the start LAZLO (W Morris) commenced to over race and throw its head in the air in the early stages, WEST GINDIAN (App N Thomas) which was following had to be steadied as a result.
FORTY EIGHT CRASH (App S Bogenhuber) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 8: GREENSTEEL PTY LTD CLASS 1 PLATE – 1200M.
1st – YUKON LAD 2nd – TREASUREMAN 3rd – REVOLVA 4th – SUPREME ASCOT
REELIN AND ROCKING (App A Coome) jumped in the air as the start was effected and lost considerable ground.
Leaving the 900m SADDLER’S RHYTHM (D Johnston) commenced to race ungenerously and near the 800m shifted in and away from SEDA SANDATA (App E Hooper) despite the efforts of its rider placing TREASUREMAN (App L Dillon) in restricted room and as a result having to be checked and lose ground. As stewards were of opinion that no one rider could be held responsible no further action was taken.
TRIBAL TRANCE (App S Bogenhuber) which was tiring became unbalanced near the 200m.
BRIDGEWATER MILL (App C McIver) and MAJESTIC MOSS (M Barnham) both raced wide for the majority or the race.
