SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
RE: Rockhampton Jockey Club – 31 March 2007.
Stewards today concluded an inquiry into an incident that occurred at the Rockhampton Jockey Club on Saturday 31 March 2007. Jockey J. Stephens was found guilty to a charge of misconduct under AR175 (q) in that on Saturday 31 March 2007, at the Rockhampton Jockey Club, he entered into a verbal and physical confrontation in the presence of patrons, licensees and committee persons in the members bar of the Rockhampton Jockey Club. J. Stephens was fined the sum of $1000.00 and a further three month suspension of his jockey’s licences was imposed. Stewards ordered that the suspensions be wholly suspended for a period of twelve months under the provisions of LR36 (h). J. Stephens was granted three months to pay.
Trainer C. Garland pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under AR175 (q) in that on Saturday 31 March 2007, at the Rockhampton Jockey Club, he entered into a verbal and physical confrontation in the presence of patrons, licensees and committee persons in the members bar of the Rockhampton Jockey Club. C. Garland was fined the sum of $1000.00 and a further three month suspension of his trainer’s licences was imposed. Stewards ordered that the suspension be wholly suspended for a period of twelve months under the provisions of LR36 (h). C. Garland was granted three months to pay.

1st – QUEEN BIRD 2nd – DOOG TROS 3rd – FUHRNOW 4th – IMPARTIALITY
FUHRNOW (D. Johnston) FRAARIFE (M. Barnham) and TRIBAL TRANCE (App. L. Dillon) were all slow to begin.
TRIBAL TRANCE (App. L. Dillon) over raced in the early stages of the event.
IMPARTIALITY (N. Evans) which had a tendency to over-race in the early stages of the race raced wide in the middle stages of the event.
WILLY’S PRIDE (App T. Chambers) commenced to over race leaving the 1200m and had to be restrained off the heels of DOOG TROS (App A. Coome) for a short distance.
BOLD BID (C. Beets) had to be steadied near the 1000m after improving onto the heels of AUSTRIICA ONE (K. Wharton).
VEREKER STREET (K. Pope) shifted out near the 400m making contact with DANGER SIGN (L. Coffey).
QUEEN BIRD (R. Thompson) and FRAARLIFE (M. Barnham) both raced wide for the majority of the race.

1st – LORD SUTCH 2nd – BELLARA GOLD 3rd – WESTERN CHAT 4th – GREENVALE GALAXY
DEE CEE DEE (APP L. Dillon) which was slow to begin was further hampered at the start by BELLARA GOLD (W. Morris) which began awkwardly and shifted in.
STYLISH WAN (D Johnston) began awkwardly and lost ground.
WESTERN CHAT (App E. Hooper) jumped out at the start making contact with hind quarters of TOBONDI (M. Barnham).
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for ALL ROYAL (M. Cant)falling and dislodging its rider near the 450m. TOBONDI (M. Barnham), OUR GOLD CROWN (J. Stephens), STYLISH WAN (D. Johnston) and ZIPYABALDY (K. Pope)which were following were unable to avoid the falling horses and fell dislodging there respectrive riders. DEE CEE DEE (App L. Dillon) which was following was unable to avoid OUR GOLD CROWN which had regained its feet and made heavy contact with that runner dislodging its rider. After taking some evidence the inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed to enable jockeys M. Cant, D. Johnston, M. Barnham and J. Stephens to provide evidence.
Following the running of this event the remainder of the meeting was abandoned with the exception of Race 6: REALWAY PROPERTY CONSULTANTS ROCKHAMPTON GOLD CUP OPEN H’CAP – 2000M which was transferred to Sunday 10 March 2007.
