Race 1: KEPPLE BAY ESTATE CLASS PLATE S/W – 1600M
1st – OTTO’S DELIGHT 2nd – LOVE AND HOPE 3rd – STUNDER 4th – REAL WORLD

Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer J. Green as to the late declaration of L. Abbott as the rider of STUNDER.

RAVISSEUR (D. Hayse) was slow to begin.

SIXTY MINUTES (W. Morris) jumped in the air as the start was effected and as a result shifted in making contact with FINN O’REILLY (D. Evans).

SUPER AMY (D. Missen) shifted in near the 1100m making contact with BARWON RIVER (C. Franklin) and then commenced to lay in taking that runner in onto OTTO’S DELIGHT (R. Thompson) which inturn shifted in inconveniencing REAL WORLD (App A. Coome) which had to be steadied. D. Missen, the rider of SUPER AMY, was reprimanded.

SWORD OF HONOUR (L. Brown) shifted in near the 1000m resulting in STUNDER (L. Abbott) shifting in and away and in doing so hampered RAVISSEUR (D. Hayse) which had to be steadied. L. Brown, the rider of SWORD OF HONOUR, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

SUPER AMY (D. Missen) shifted out under pressure near the 200m taking MISS KEPPEL (R. Wiggins) wider.

SIXTY MINUTES (W. Morris) shifted out under pressure near the 150m making contact with SUPER AMY (D. Missen).
STUNDER (L. Abbott) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages of the race.

RAFIR (App K. Pedron), AT ODDS (D. Whitmore), SUPER AMY (D. Missen) and GENTLE MIND (App L. Dillon) all raced wide for the majority of the race.

R. Wiggins, the rider of 5th placegetter MISS KEPPEL, was fined the sum of $100.00 under AR144 in that he failed to weigh in.

Race 2: CLAUDE GREEN MEMORIAL F & M CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1100M
1st – TWOZEES 2nd – SYMATINA 3rd – BLUE FAIRY 4th – NINE COVERS

TWOZEES (D. Missen) was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon prior to the start at the riders request and was cleared to start.

The start was delayed when BARLEY LEGAL was unable to loaded and was declared a late scratching at 1.25pm by order of stewards. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on BARELY LEGAL were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 4 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 5 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets to be applicable. Trainer C. Dingley was advised that the horse must perform to the satisfaction of stewards in an official barrier trial before it is permitted races again.

FUHRNOW (L. Brown) was slow to begin.

TWOZEES (D. Missen) began awkwardly.

NINE COVERS (R. Thompson) had a tendency to over race in the early stages of the event.

L. Dillon, the rider of HOUSE OF FUN, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 700m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SCOTCH GREY (E. Wilkinson) which had to be checked and doing so tightened the running of FAINTLY (L. Abbott) and TWOZEES (D. Missen) which shifted in tightening the running of SYMATINA (App K. Pedron) which also had to be checked. L. Dillon’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 meetings, to commence midnight Saturday 28 June 2008 and expire at midnight on Thursday 10 July, 2008.

BLUE FAIRY (D. Evans) was disappointed for a narrow run between SYMATINA (App K. Pedron) and FAINTLY (L. Abbott) approaching the 300m and shifted in to obtain clear running.

NINE COVERS (R. Thompson) was momentarily held up leaving the 300m behind SCOTCH GREY (E. Wilkinson) which shifted out under pressure.

INNOCENT ENCOUNTER (J. Stephens) and NINE COVERS (R. Thompson) both raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 3: DIPLOCK’S COLLISION REPAIR CENTRE CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1200M
1st – STUFF UP 2nd – FLASH IN THE PAN 3rd – LET IT HAIL 4th – KING’S VALOUR

STAR CHARIOT (R. Hall) was slow to begin.

STUFF UP (D. Missen) shied and shifted up abruptly shortly after passing the winning post and hampered FLASH IN THE PAN (App A. Coome).

Race 4: KALKA PALMS HOTEL/MOTEL ERIC RAILTON MEMORIAL FAREWELL OPEN H’CAP – 1000M
1st – KOUNELI 2nd – KING KANAWA 3rd – EMPIRE BURLESQUE 4th – JYI’S PROSPECT

ROCK OF MUFASA was declared a late scratching at 12.10pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice after the horse was found to be lame in its near fore leg. W. Williams, the trainer of ROCK OF MUFASA was advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to the horse competing in a barrier trial or race.

Stewards accepted the explanations of trainer M. Hicks and jockey D. Missen as to the riding change of E. Wilkinson as the rider of JYI’S PROSPECT.

FINAL DEMAND (App T. Bannon), CALL THE ROLL (L. Brown) and SNIFTER (App L. Dillon) were all slow to begin.

RED MESHACH (R. Thompson) began awkwardly and had a tendency to over race in the middle stages.

SNIFTER (App L. Dillon) shifted out rounding the home turn taking JYI’S PROSPECT (E. Wilkinson) wider on the track.

CALL THE ROLL (L. Brown) raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 5: SWEENEY MEDIA RESEARCH BRISBANE BLOODSTOCK BONUS 2YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
1st – TAIKHAN 2nd – HEDARNY 3rd – MY MARGARITA 4th – CAN’T BE TOLD

Apprentice J. Wood replaced apprentice C. Dixon as the rider of ONE HUNDRED WATTS when C. Dixon failed to arrive on course. Stewards adjourned an inquiry in this matter to a date and time to fixed.

JUSTAMINUTE (E. Wilkinson) and MEXICANO (C. Franklin) were both slow to begin.

EASY PICKING (S. Quick) commenced to hang shortly after the start for some distance.

Race 6: CQ ROCKWORK PTY LTD ROCKHAMPTON GOLD CUP OPEN H’CAP – 2000M
1st – VERY CANNY 2nd – COCKAIGNE 3rd – DINI WHO 4th – STAGE SHAKER

Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer C. Smith as to the late declaration of apprentice J. Wood as the rider of SOOTH SAYER.

MINING SILVER (App T. Bannon) was tightened for room shortly after start between SIR XAAR (R. Wiggins) which shifted out and NINANG (App A. Coome) which shifted in.

LINK HOGTHROB (L. Brown) shifted in shortly after the start making contact with MILADY CLANG (R. Thompson).

PURE SILENCE (W. Morris) began awkwardly.

HONOUR HAPPY LIST (D. Evans) lay in approaching the 1700m and bumped ITS OUR NEDIYM (C. Franklin).

LINK HOGTHROB (L. Brown) shifted wider on the track rounding the 1700m turn.

SIR XAAR (R. Wiggins) shifted out near the 1200m and was then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the race.

HOUSE OF WOODWIND (C. Beets) had to be steadied off heels near the 700m and shifted out making contact with SNIPPETY SNIP (M. Cant) which inturn shifted out bumping MILADY CLANG (R. Thompson).

VERY CANNY (D. Whitmore) improved onto the heels SNIPPETY SNIP (M. Cant) near the 350m and had to alter course.

DINI WHO (App L. Dillon) shifted wider rounding home turn to obtain clear running.

T. Bannon, the rider of MINING SILVER, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that leaving the 400m she permitted her mount to shift out whilst riding along when insufficiently clear of SNIPPETY SNIP (M. Cant) which had to be severely checked when tightened onto MILADY CLANG (R. Thompson) which was inconvenienced as a result. T. Bannon’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 (QLD) meetings, to commence midnight Saturday 28 June 2008 and expire at midnight on Friday 11 July, 2008.
D. Whitmore, the rider of VERY CANNY, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that approaching the 200m he directed his mount out to obtain clear running when insufficiently clear of SNIPPETY SNIP (M. Cant) which had to be checked. D. Whitmore’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 4 meetings, to commence midnight Saturday 28 June 2008 and expire at midnight on Saturday 19 July, 2008.

HOUSE OF WOODWIND (C. Beets) had to be steadied near the 200m when crowded for room by IT’S OUR NEDIYM (C. Franklin) which shifted in.
VERY CANNY (D. Whitmore) shifted out to obtain clear running near the 150m making contact with MILADY CLANG (R. Thompson) which inturn shifted out bumping NINANG (App A. Coome) which had to be steadied.
D. Whitmore, the rider VERRY CANNY, was reprimanded.

STAGE SHAKER (D. Missen) became unbalanced leaving the 50m and shifted in.

PURE SILENCE (W. Morris) raced wide in the early stages of the event.

STAGE SHAKER (D. Missen) and DINI WHO (App L. Dillon) both raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 7: BERT ACTON MEMORIAL CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1300M
1st – MUZZIO 2nd – MYSTIC MOUNTAIN 3rd – SHESHEDA 4th – ASITUATION

ALLEMANDE MISS (L. Brown) and KALAHARI PRINCE (App A. Coome) were both slow to begin.

REAF SHAR BAYE (C. Beets) commenced to over race approaching the 800m and had to be steadied. FOREIGN CAPITAL (S. Quick) which was following had to be steadied as a result. KALAHARI PRINCE (App A. Coome) which was following FOREIGN CAPITAL was also inconvenienced and shifted wider.

When the pace slackened near the 800m ALLEMANDE MISS (L. Brown) had to steadied off the heels of RUN AND GUN (App T. Bannon). FRISCO BOPPER (D. Evans) which was following had to be steadied as a result.

ASITUATION (E. Wilkinson) had a tendency to over race near the 800m and shifted wider on the track.

RUN AND GUN (App T. Bannon) had difficulties in obtaining a clear run over the concluding stages.

ASITUATION (E. Wilkinson) and SHESHEDA (R. Wiggins) both raced wide for the majority of the race.
