Rockhampton 26th June 2010

Race 3 - Trainer A. Jones was fined $100 for presenting GHOST QUEEN without a tongue control bit and Trainer D. Peoples was fined $200 for presenting SHOGOLD without blinkers, which were approved gear for the respective horses (A.R.140B).

Clermont 3rd July 2010

Stable foreman G. Green reported to Stewards that after competing in Race 4 HEDARNY had bled from its off-side nostril. Mr. Green was advised that HEDARNY would be required to gallop over 1000m prior to its next start.

LATE RIDING CHANGES:

When Jockey B. Stewart was indisposed, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Jockey Stewart was advised that he must furnish a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again.

Race 1: 100 Club Maiden Plate - 1050 metres
1st – TWO BITS 2nd ESSINGTON 3rd GRAND PAS 4th - RED STAR RISING

The start was delayed when Apprentice C. McIver, the declared rider for JAYDEEANCOKE, and Jockey C. Whiteley, the declared rider for THE LAST CHANCE, failed to arrive on course by the prescribed time due to a transport delay. As no suitable rider was available for JAYDEEANCOKE, stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 12.45 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on JAYDEEANCOKE be refunded in full and that all successful bets made with bookmakers prior to the withdrawal of JAYDEEANCOKE be paid less the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of tickets: win 13¢, place 12¢. Jockey D. Gill was substituted as the rider of THE LAST CHANCE.

The start was further delayed when RED STAR RISING (App. R. Hinricks) took charge of its rider and completed a lap of the course. The mare was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

On jumping RED STAR RISING (App. R. Hinricks) and ESSINGTON (D. Missen) bumped.

At the start DYNAMIC DANCER (App. J. Kropp) was tightened for room between TWO BITS (K. Wharton) and ARCANO (A. Coome), which shifted out.

Near the 800 metres MISS ALLYKAT (S. Evans) hung in across the heels of EXCLUSIVE COMPANY (M. Usher). ARCANO (A. Coome), which was following, was inconvenienced.

In the early part of the straight ARCANO (A. Coome) was held up and unable to obtain clear running.

In the straight MISS ALLYKAT (S. Evans) was inclined to hang in under pressure.

Between the 400 metres and the 200 metres ESSINGTON (D. Missen) was unable to obtain clear running.

Over the final 200 metres DYNAMIC DANCER (App. J. Kropp) had a tendency to lay out under pressure.

For the majority of the event PUSSY LALA (J. Stephens) raced wide.

GRAND PAS (A. Pattillo) raced greenly throughout the event.
Race 2: XXXX Bitter QTIS 600 2YO Handicap - 1100 metres
1st – LAMBERT 2nd QUEEN OF HAPPINESS 3rd CRAIGLEA ROYALE 4th - CRAIGLEA PRECIOUS

Following the delayed start of Race 1, the starting time for this race was amended to 1.31 p.m.

When Jockey C. Whiteley was late arriving on course Jockey D. Monaghan was substituted as the rider of KOBBER’S MAGIC. As Apprentice C. McIver was late arriving on course Jockey S. Sheargold was substituted as the rider of LAYLA.

CARRY THE MING (M. Cullen) began awkwardly.

Jockey D. Gill was found guilty of a charge under A.R. 137A(5)(a)(ii) as the rider of QUEEN OF HAPPINESS for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100 metres. Jockey Gill was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday 17th July 2010, up to and including midnight on Saturday 24th July 2010 (5 meetings). In assessing penalty stewards took into account the conditions governing penalty and Jockey Gill’s poor record in regard to this matter.

1st – HOT SHOT HENRY 2nd COURTESSA 3rd APUCKSHUNUBBEE 4th - PYPER’S IMAGE

TESTA HEART (M. Cullen) began awkwardly.
Leaving the 600 metres FAIRWAY TO HEAVEN (M. Usher) was tightened for room when racing between CHABAL (D. Missen) and BORA BORA (App. C. McIver), which shifted out to improve. Apprentice McIver was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

After the race Jockey A. Pattillo reported that COURTESSA raced greenly throughout the event.

Race 4: Callaghan Park Function Centre Class 1 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st SCAPA 2nd WESTERN WARRIOR 3rd NEDERBURG 4th – TWO BOB SNOB

En route to the barriers Jockey D. Missen was dislodged from NEDERBURG and suffered harmless fall.

GLEN BRIGTON (D. Monaghan) and TWO BOB SNOB (C. Whiteley) were slow to begin.

In the middle stages NEDERBURG (D. Missen) over-raced and between the 500 metres and the 400 metres was held up and unable to obtain clear running.

Over the final 100 metres GLEN BRIGTON (D. Monaghan), RED SEA (A. Coome) and IRISH DIVA (L. Dillon) were held up and unable to gain clear running.

BELLARA GOLD (D. Gill), SENORINA (S. Evans) and WESTERN WARRIOR (App. R. Hinricks) raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Become a Member of the RJC Class 3 Plate - 970 metres
1st DEXTRUS 2nd LEEWANGO 3rd FALVEROSA 4th - DIABLE

NONAME was a late scratching, at 8.58 a.m., by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice.

SELECT DRAW (C. Whiteley) was slow into stride.

Near the 700 metres RUN THE RAPIDS (M. Usher) shifted in and away from LEEWANGO (App. J. Kropp). SELECT DRAW (C. Whiteley), which was trailing, was momentarily inconvenienced.

At about the 200 metres SELECT DRAW (C. Whiteley) was disappointed for a run between LONG ROAD TO GLORY (A. Pattillo) and BASHEEBA (L. Dillon), which shifted in and away from LEEWANGO (App. J. Kropp). SELECT DRAW was then held up for clear running for the remainder of the event.

Race 6: XXXX Gold Open Handicap - 1050 metres
1st CARRY THE CLUBS 2nd READY ROYAL 3rd SNORKEL 4th - RED STORY

TSZYU (App. D. Gill) was slow to begin.

Leaving the 800 metres CATCHIT (D. Monaghan) hung out, forcing STIPULATION (App. J. Kropp) and PRINCE LEO (S. Evans) wider. STIPULATION and PRINCE LEO were then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the event.

Near the 200 metres TSZYU (App. D. Gill) shifted out to improve and in doing so forced DANWANA (M. Usher) out onto ALBERT’S IMAGE (A. Coome).

In the straight CARRY THE CLUBS (A. Pattillo) was held up and unable to obtain clear running until leaving the 200 metres.

Race 7: www.callghanpark.com.au Class 5 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st FALVADORE 2nd – AUNTY FLO 3rd ROCKIN ROD 4th - CONNOIA

On jumping ROCKIN ROD (App. J. Kropp) and COLUMATE (D. Missen) were tightened for room between CRAIGLEA WHIZARD (K. Wharton) and WESTERN CHAT (M. Usher), both of which shifted ground.

At the start MANDS BOND (App. R. Hinricks) stood flat-footed and lost valuable ground.

After arriving behind the barriers LAUNDROMAT was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon, at the request of Jockey A. Pattillo who was concerned with the horse’s action, and cleared to start.

WEST GINDIAN (A. Coome) raced wide for the majority of the event.

CRAIGLEA WHIZARD (K. Wharton) was inclined to hang out throughout the event.

Following the event Jockey M. Cullen expressed concern about the action of FINAL HANDOUT in the middle stages.

Jockey A. Pattillo, the rider of LAUNDROMAT, which was eased out of the event leaving the 700 metres, explained that after travelling 200 metres he became concerned with the horse’s action and therefore retired it from the event. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr L. Rowe was advised that LAUNDROMAT will not be permitted to race again until he furnishes a veterinary certificate of fitness.
