Race 1: Spring Racing Carnival 2011 Class 6 Handicap- 1050 metres
1st MYSTIC MOUNTAIN 2nd CRAIGLEA CONVICT 3rd RUN KYLIE RUN 4th- GOL

Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey A. Pattillo, the rider of CRAIGLEA CONVICT which finished second, against MYSTIC MOUNTAIN (App. C. Pye) being declared the winner, alleging interference around the 650 metres and over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from the parties involved, viewing the official patrol film and acting on their own observations, stewards established that near the 650 metres MYSTIC MOUNTAIN maintained a straight course and Jockey Pattillo was able to continue riding his mount along although it has shifted out slightly and was eased. Stewards also considered that over the concluding stages, CRAIGLEA CONVICT had established an unimpeded run between RUN KYLIE RUN (C. Whiteley) and MYSTIC MOUNTAIN and may have been struck across the nose on two occasions, however they could not be comfortably satisfied that this had cost CRAIGLEA CONVICT the margin of a neck and did not warrant an alteration to the placings. Accordingly, the protest was dismissed and correct weight was declared.

CRAIGLEA CONVICT (A. Pattillo) began a little awkwardly.

Race 2: XXXX Gold Class 3 Handicap- 1400 metres
1st GOLDSLICK 2nd BEEN BROKE BEFORE 3rd MARICOPA 4th - ISHI CLASSIC

At the start BEEN BROKE BEFORE (D. Missen) and ISHI CLASSIC (D. Tanti) bumped.

CHABAL (T. Bannon) over-raced in the early stages.

In the early and middle stages BEEN BROKE BEFORE (D. Missen) over-raced and in the early part of the straight was held up and unable to obtain clear running.

Between the 400 metres and the 250 metres MARICOPA (A. Coome) had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Near the 150 metres BEEN BROKE BEFORE (D. Missen) raced in restricted room and Jockey Missen was obliged to stop riding momentarily.

Race 3: XXXX Summer Bright Maiden Handicap- 1400 metres
1st SAINT LENNY 2nd BOTH 3rd OXFORD TOWN 4th - MY LIONESS

BOTH (App. A. Taylor) dipped at the start.

SAVVY CHOICE (A. Pattillo) began awkwardly and shifted out.

Near the 1100 metres TURF TSAR (T. Bannon) commenced to over-race, continued to do so for the majority of the event, and on a number of occasions had to be restrained.

Leaving the 1200 metres VAULT BREAKER (D. Philpot) over-raced for a short distance.

Approaching the 300 metres and again at the 200 metres BOTH (App. A. Taylor) laid in.

SAVVY CHOICE (A. Pattillo) and MISS VALHALLA (M. Usher) raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Hyland Sportswear QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap- 1050 metres
1st SHEZA FALVELON 2nd TROPIC GEM 3rd HOT SHOT SISTER 4th - NAN BELL

HOT SHOT SISTER (App .K. Cross) stumbled on jumping.

ERNEST ALBERT (T. Bannon) began awkwardly.

TROPIC GEM (L. Dillon) raced wide from the majority of the race,

IMMA BE (D. Philpot) and MISTER TIPS (App. A. Taylor) raced wide throughout.

Apprentice C. Pye reported that at the start the saddle on SECRET SCENE shifted and near the 700 metres slipped to the nearside, which resulted in her losing her irons and shifting out in the straight..

Jockey A. Pattillo reported that in the straight NAN BELL was inclined to hang in and he was unable to ride the gelding out in his usual manner.

When questioned as to the performance of MISTER TIPS, App. A. Taylor stated that she was disappointed with today’s performance. App. Taylor said that the gelding travelled well but was obliged to race three wide throughout the race. App Taylor added that while this was the geldings second start from a spell and its previous run had merit, she could offer no tangible explanation for the horse's failure to finish the race off.

Stewards afforded Jockey D. Tanti the opportunity to explain the instructions he was given as the rider of CAMPIONESSA. Jockey Tanti said he had been instructed to allow the filly to settle where it was comfortable, with cover, if possible. Jockey Tanti added that the filly raced ungenerously in the early stages and found the line well when placed under pressure in the straight, and in the circumstances he was satisfied with the performance of CAMPIONESSA.

Race 5: XXXX Bitter F&M Class 1 Plate- 970 metres
1st ARRESTED FOR SPEED 2nd HIDDEN REWARDS 3rd MAID OF FALVELON 4th - MONNIE

A pre-race veterinary examination of BLONDESHAVEMOREFUN (A. Coome), which was resuming after a lengthy spell, cleared the mare to take its place in the field.

BLONDESHAVEMOREFUN (A. Coome) began awkwardly and near the 900 metres was steadied from the heels of IMMA BE (D. Philpot), which shifted in slightly.

Near the 350 metres and again approaching the 150 metres MAID OF FALVELON (C. Whiteley) and HIDDEN REWARDS (App. A. Taylor) bumped.

1st - CARMENATOR 2nd - BJORN WARRIOR 3rd - LIBERTY TYCOON - 4th - PRINCELY

A pre-race veterinary examination of BASILLICA (App. K. Cross), which was resuming from a lengthy spell, cleared the gelding to take its place in the field.

LAST RITES (N. Patchett) was difficult to load.

SIDE EFFECT (A. Coome) was difficult to load into the barriers and when loaded reared and became cast for a period of time. When released from the barriers SIDE EFFECT was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and, acting on his advice, stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 4.50 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that the following deductions apply:
CARMENATOR: 1st: 37¢ in the dollar for the win
22¢ in the dollar for the place
BJORN WARRIOR: 2nd: 22¢ in the dollar for the place
LIBERTY TYCOON: 3rd, 22¢ in the dollar for the place.

Stewards will seek submissions from trainer Mr Mannion regarding any embargo that may be placed on the gelding and will also seek an explanation for SIDE EFFECT being removed from the course prior to the specified time.

STRIKE ME RED (L. Dillon) began a little awkwardly, and near the 700 metres hung out and had to be steadied from the heels of LIBERTY TYCOON (App. C. Pye).
