Race 1: XXXX Island Class 1 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st HEAD HIGH 2nd DASHINGLY 3rd VIVA FORTE 4th - CASTAWAY

When Jockey N. Patchett was to be overweight, Jockey T. Bannon was substituted as the rider of ROSE OF TESSIE.

REGAL SHREDDER (J. Kropp), MARAUDING HILL (D. Simmons) and SINGLE TOAST (App. S. Egan) were slow to begin.

DASHINGLY (D. Tanti) began awkwardly.

App. S. Egan, the rider of SINGLE TOAST, was reminded of his obligation under A.R. 137A(4)(c) regarding use of the whip on a horse that is out of contention.

Race 2: Callaghan Park QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap - 1100 metres
1st HIDDEN PRAYER 2nd VAIN DAZZLER 3rd CRAIGLEA STELLAR 4th - I GET EXCITED

When Jockey A. Coome was to be overweight, and no senior rider was available, App. S. McCullum was substituted as the rider of STRATEGIC GLORY.

Jockey S. Sheargold was fined $300 under A.R. 145 for returning to scale on MAX'S GIRL more than half a kilogram over his declared weight. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful of Jockey Sheargold's poor record in this regard.

MUM SAID NO (J. P. Stanley), HIDDEN PRAYER (App. A. Taylor) and VAIL DAZZLER (App. C. Pye) all began awkwardly.

At the start SPLIT THE SHEETS (App. A. Butler) shifted out and bumped WAY TOO PRICE CI (App. B. Floyd).

On jumping, TUCKER TIME (D. Tanti) shifted out and bumped VALONMAARA (J. Kropp).

MEDDLESOME MISS (D. Simmons) stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.
In the middle stages MEDDLESOME MISS raced fiercely and as a consequence was obliged to race wide. Connections were advised that MEDDLESOME MISS must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

TUCKER TIME (D. Tanti), VELONMAARA (J. Kropp) and COUNT ON A ROCKET (N. Patchett) raced wide throughout.

Over the concluding stages CRAIGLEA STELLAR (T. Bannon) and I GET EXCITED (App. A. Allen) raced wide.

Jockey J. P. Stanley reported that MUM SAID NO felt shin sore upon pulling up. Trainer J. Sigvart was concerned that MUM SAID NO was shin sore and informed stewards that the horse will be sent for an immediate spell.

Race 3: XXXX Gold Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st – LADY FROM MOSSMAN 2nd SASCHA'S SPIRIT 3rd SAUKENUK 4th - ZANDER

When Jockey N. Patchett was to be overweight, and no senior rider was available, App. A. Taylor was substituted as the rider of ROCK D'OR.

Trainer R. Shannon was reprimanded for presenting SASCHA'S SPIRIT (App. B. Floyd) late in the saddling enclosure.

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by stable representative R. Thompson for presenting RICORDO (C. McIver) late in the saddling enclosure.

The start was delayed when, after being loaded into the barriers, BOTH EARS (J. P. Stanley) became fractious and reared. The mare was removed from the barriers, examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. As a result of the incident the start was further delayed when BOTH EARS had to be re-saddled. Trainer G. Teal was advised that a warning will be placed on the mare's barrier manners

Shortly after the start ODESSA (App. D. McWhinney) was tightened for room between BAGGER CHEERS (App. S. McGovern) and ZANDER (D. Simmons), which began awkwardly and shifted out.

Approaching the 900 metres MINNIE MOOCH (App. B. Richardson) had to be eased from the heels of COPY THIS (T. Bannon), which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey T. Bannon was reprimanded and advised to show more care.

In the middle stages MINNIE MOOCH (App. B. Richardson) and LA LUNE DE MIEL (J. Kropp) over-raced.

Leaving the 600 metres TALLEGALLA (App. C. Pye) had to be eased momentarily when RICORDO (C. McIver) shifted in. Shortly thereafter BAGGER CHEERS (App. S. McGovern) shifted out upon straightening, resulting in ZANDER (D. Simmons) having to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of BAGGER CHEERS.

Race 4: Become a member of the RJC Open Handicap - 1050 metres
1st PEGUNNY ROY 2nd MASTER GREIG 3rd FALVADORE 4th – DEGENDA

As Jockey A. Coome was to be overweight, App. A. Butler was substituted as the rider of BLACK MORGAN.

Near the 500 metres FALVADORE (App. C. Pye) shifted out and bumped DEGENDA (App. A. Taylor). App. Pye was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

MASTER GREIG (D. Tanti) and MUNDI GULLY (C. McIver) were slow to begin.

BLACK MORGAN (App. A. Butler) lost a near hind plate in running.

PEGUNNY ROY (J. P. Stanley) and DEGENDA (App. A. Taylor) raced wide throughout.

Race 5: XXXX Bitter Class 3 Plate - 1600 metres
1st GETAWAY PLAN 2nd FICKLE BUSINESS 3rd A DEPENDANT 4th - JESTAROSSA

BREAK OF DAWN (App. A. Butler), PHIL DOESN'T CARE (D. Tanti) and JESTAROSSA (A. Coome) were slow to begin.

At the start FASTER BUSTER (T. Bannon) was tightened for room between LUCASAM (N. Patchett) an TOY JET (App. A. Allen), which shifted out.

As the start was effected SHOT BAR (App. D. McWhinney) bounded in the air and lost ground.

Near the 900 metres MAJOR CASH (App. C. Pye) had to be eased when FASTER BUSTER (T. Bannon) crossed forward to take up a position closer to the running rail.

A DEPENDANT (App. S. Egan) and TOY JET (App. A. Allen) raced wide throughout.

1st CRAIGLEA KEY 2nd BOARDWALK DANCER 3rd RARE FIND 4th - MYSTERIOUS MAN


Trainer T. Cook was fined $200 under L.R.68 for failing to scratch PRINCELY by the
prescribed time.

Due to a clerical error S. Higgins instead of App. S. Egan was shown as the rider of UNLUCKYFORSUM.


SWEET VAMP (App. A. Taylor), GLENDALE MAGIC (J. Kropp) and SAVANNAH DAWN (App. D. McWhinney) raced wide throughout.

App. A. Taylor, the rider of SWEET VAMP, was reminded of her obligation to ride her mounts right to the finish.

Jockey A. Coome reported that MYSTERIOUS MAN did not feel entirely comfortable on today's slow track. Bearing in mind this and the gelding's impost of 59kg, he was reluctant to pressure MYSTERIOUS MAN in the early part of the home straight, however once placed under pressure leaving the 200 metres MYSTERIOUS MAN peaked on its run passing the 100 metres. Jockey Coome was of the view that today's track conditions and the 59 kg impost had a detrimental effect on the gelding's ability to finish off the race.

Jockey N. Patchett was afforded the opportunity to explain the tactics adopted on RARE FIND in the early stages. Jockey Patchett stated that from the wide barrier he was concerned that the gelding would be obliged to race wide throughout the event and as such he eased RARE FIND to take up a position closer to the running rail at the tail of the field. Jockey Patchett added that in his opinion RARE FIND finished off the race well.

Race 7: XXXX Summer Bright Class 5 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st PEGUNNY CAT 2nd SAINTLY LADY 3rd BLIND JUSTICE 4th - JOE BLOW

When App. A. Butler was overweight, Jockey J. Stephens was substituted as the rider of BLIND JUSTICE. App. Butler was fined $100 under A.R. 120(b).

MEGHANI (App. A. Taylor), JOE BLOW (App. B. Richardson) and MR NICHOLAS (S. Sheargold) were all slow to begin.

MAECENUS (App. A. Allen) began awkwardly.

Passing the 100 metres PEGUNNY CAT (J. P. Stanley) shifted out under pressure and bumped SAINTLY LADY (C. McIver). Jockey Stanley was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
