SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Springsure 22/3/2014

Stewards today concluded an adjourned inquiry into the late nomination, acceptance and scratching of RAZOR GANG. Previous evidence from Trainer W Meek was heard that he had nominated the horse with the intention to start, had accepted with both his runners on the evening before, and after working the horse the following morning was not satisfied as to fitness of the mare and for that reason elected to scratch. Stewards sought further information in regard to limits for fields at nominations and acceptances. After doing so, no action was taken against Mr Meek and his explanation was noted.

ROCKHAMPTON 3/4/2014

Trainer R Vale reported that SURF FIRE was found to have a lower gut infection, which may have been detrimental to its performance. The mare would be treated, freshened up and further blood analysis completed prior to its next race start.
