Prior to the commencement of the meeting Stewards were notified that App A Badger would not be riding and she was replaced as per the Stewards summary sheet


SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT.

Stewards interviewed Jockey G Geran regarding his inability to fulfil his riding engagements at Ipswich on the 14-11-08.Namely LAVA MAN in Race 1 and RADIO STAR in race 8 .Stewards subsequently fined Jockey Geran the sum of $200 under AR85B.



RACE 1- BACARDI SUPERIOR MAIDEN –1000 M
1st CORRIDORS OF POWER 2nd LEGAL FEE 3rd SALLY SUPREME 4th GOLDEN CHALICE.

WHO’S TO KNOW(D REWALD) was restless in the barrier prior to the start and then began awkwardly.
MY PLANS (B THOMSON ) stood in the barrier as the start was effected and took no part in the event .
ISHINE (R KERWIN ) was very slow to begin
NORTH OSSETIA (C BRYEN ) has jumped in at the start.
KAAPTAN JACK ( D MONAGHAN ) was slow to begin
Nearing the 900m NORTH OSSETIA (C BRYEN ) has rolled in tightening CRAIGLEA BEAUTY (C DIXON ) which became awkward when placed in restricted room and shifted out .CRAIGLEA BEAUTY then raced wide up to,and rounding the home turn .

After the running of the race and prior to correct weight both Jockey R Kerwin and Jockey B Thomson made application for their horses ISHINE and MY PLANS to be declared non runners .Stewards after viewing the film and taking evidence from the riders,as well as the Starter and Barrier Attendants, declared MY PLANS to be a runner AR134A .Stewards then declared that ISHINE had been denied a fair start and declared that horse a non runner .AR134A
All relays were notified that all monies invested on ISHINE were to be refunded and ruled that deductions of 13 cents the win and 12 cents the place on the face value of all winning tickets were to be declared .
Correct weight was then declared.
Connections of MY PLANS were notified that the horse would be required to pass an Official Barrier Trial prior to its next start.LR36(b)
Stewards sought an explanation of the riding tactics adopted by Jockey D Rewald ,the rider of WHO’S TO KNOW. Jockey Rewald stated that the horse had only begun fairly and when being restrained shortly after the start had resented the bit and had improved on to the heels of the horses in front. At this point the horse had put its head in the air and lost ground .As the horse was a first starter WHO’S TO KNOW then resented the kick back from the sand surface and was reluctant to put itself in the race. Jockey Rewald stated the horse then raced greenly over the final stages .

RACE 2 – METALCORP CLASS B HCP. -1200M
1st OLANAL 2nd SOFIE FATALE 3rd NASHAMA 4th SADLIERS CROSSING


CEDE’S SISTER (M O’CONNELL ) was slow to begin .
SILVEREO(B THOMSON ),DESERT RED (S SWEEDMAN ) and GEE WHIZ (G GERAN ) were all obliged to race wide in the middle stages of the event .
Approaching the 1000m mark TARSHAE (N EVANS) has lay in tightening BENNY ANGLE (C BRYEN ) .
At the 500m BENNY ANGLE has rolled in tightening DESERT RED .
CEDES SISTER has become unbalanced at the 500m and raced ungenerously.

Over the final stages of the event CRAIGLEA RELIC(C DIXON ) has shifted ground ,whilst under pressure ,and made contact with GEE WHIZ (G GERAN ) .


RACE 3- MCINNES WILSON LAWYERS CLASS 3 HCP.- 1000M
1st ZAHBAJ 2nd LUKES BID 3rd SEDAN 4th VIGORIA

At the start MY KAVITA(C BRYEN ) began awkwardly .
VIGORIA (D REWALD ) has jumped in at the start tightening ALL STELLAR (B POWELL ).
ZAHBAJ (G GERAN ) and VERGE OF DISCOVERY (C DIXON ) made contact on jumping away causing ZAHBAJ to become awkward for a few strides .

VERGE OF DISCOVERY raced wide throughout.
ROCK YOUR BODY (B THOMSON ) race wide in the middle stages of the event.


RACE 4 –CONDON TREASURE CLASS 6 HCP. -1200M
1st CLASSIC WINNER 2nd ROLLER DRUM 3rd LEICA MAGIC 4th DESERT STAR

DANGEROUS CENT (S SWEEDMAN ) was slow to begin.

NATIVE WOLF (D REWALD ) was tightened for room at the start by CLASSIC WINNER (C BRYEN ) which jumped in .
DESERT STAR (B THOMSON ) hung out throughout the event.

Rounding the home turn CLASSIC WINNER was held up for clear running on the heels of DESERT STAR.and had to be steadied momentarily at the 200m .

When questioned regarding the seemingly poor performance of AUSSIE ROCK ,Jockey M Tarrant reported that in his opinion the reasons were two fold .That was his not being able to obtain a position behind the leaders resulting in Aussie Rock having to sit three wide throughout and the horses uncharacteristic inability to settle in the run . Jockey Tarrant believed the horse had trained of and needed a let up as he faded over the final 200m .Jockey Tarrant had communicated this to the connections .Stewards noted his explanation .


RACE 5- SANTOS QTIS CLASS 3- 1640M
1st KEN AND KIM 2nd EIGHTDAN 3rd PICAWILE 4th CRAIGLEA FALCON

At the start CRAIGLEA FALCON (G GERAN ) was tightened for room by PICAWILE (D EVANS ) which jumped in and LOOKOUT KWILA (C ISDALE ) which jumped out .
At the 1400m BROSNANS GOLD (S SWEEDMAN ) had to be checked off the heels of DENMARK LANE (D REWALD ) which shifted in .At this point BROSNANS GOLD then shifted out hampering BREAD’N’WATER (D MONAGHAN ),taking this horse out on to JANGLEO (B THOMSON ),which was forced wider on the track.
Stewards opened an inquiry into this incident and after taking evidence subsequently charged Jockey D Rewald under AR137(a) with careless riding and suspended his license to ride in races for a period of 6 meetings .

LOOKOUT KWILA and JANGLEO both raced wide throughout the event .

EIGHTDAN(M O’CONNELL) raced wide rounding the home turn .

An incident occurred approaching the 500m of the race which resulted in Jockey D Monaghan being dislodged and BREAD’N’WATER falling . Stewards after taking initial evidence adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed .
In this incident both HOPESON (D Mo ) and JOVIAL KNIGHT (C DIXON ) which were following were severely hampered when both riders took evasive action to avoid the fallen rider and horse
Connections of BREAD’N’WATER were notified that a full veterinary certificate would be required before the horse starts again .




RACE 6 –XXXX GOLD ROMA CUP HCP- 1640M
1st TRY SOME MAGIC 2nd DEGENA 3rd CHIEF INSPECTOR 4th SCUDERIA
As Jockey D Monaghan was injured he was replaced as the rider of COCKTAIL SHAKER by Jockey D REWALD.

At the start WINSOME LOOT (C ISDALE ) has jumped out hampering SCUDERIA (R KERWIN ) which was slow to begin .
POWER’N’WATER (W GLASS) began awkwardly as did BATTLE AT SEA (C DIXON ).
UNCLE JAN (E WILSON ) jumped in at the start.
Approaching the 1400m WINSOME LOOT (C ISDALE) commenced to over race and had to be steadied off the heels of DEGENA(N EVANS) .The horse continued to over race up to the 1000m mark where it shifted ground out taking SCUDERIA wider on the track.
WINSOME LOOT then raced wide in the middle stages up to rounding the home turn .

CHIEF INSPECTOR (S SWEEDMAN ) was obliged to race wide in the middle stages of the event



RACE 7 – BLACK TOYOTA FLYING HCP – 1000M
1st ANOTHERCAT 2nd ON POTENTIAL 3rd DISASTER DEN 4th PITTAPADDY

THUNDER KING (C ISDALE) proved difficult to mount in the saddling enclosure and Stewards subsequently placed a warning on the horse for its pre race behaviour .

PANKKI (W GLASS) began awkwardly.
THUNDER KING (C ISDALE ) has jumped in at the start taking BRAEBROOK (N EVANS )in on to SAMURAI SPIRIT(M O’CONNELL) which was hampered .

A short distance after the start BRAEBROOK and THUNDER KING have come together and bumped .
Approaching the 500m I DARED (B POWELL) has rolled in placing CRAIGLEA WARRIOR (G GERAN ) in restricted racing room for a short distance resulting in CRAIGLEA WARRIOR having to be eased .

Over the final 100m of the event DISASTER DEN (C DIXON ) has shifted out under pressure taking ON POTENTIAL (L MCCOY )wider on the track .
