SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Due to continuing rain, the meeting was transferred to the cushion track. As a consequence, the distance of Race 2 was changed from 1800m to 2000m and Race 3 from 1200m to 1100m. However, prior to Race 1, the distance of Race 2 was amended from 2000m to 1600m after stewards identified a section of the track near the 1700m, which was unsuitable for racing.

Race 1: Micks Meat Barn Class 2 H'cap - 1400m
1st – Oh Sunday 2nd – Laughing Crusader 3rd – Eddie 4th - Zaharakis

Stewards were satisfied with the explanation tendered by trainer P. Duff for the late scratching of WITHDRU at 8.05 am.

As N. Thomas was delayed in traffic, K. Wharton was substituted as the rider of DOMRAS.

Correct weight was delayed to afford L. Cassidy, the rider of the 2nd placegetter, LAUGHING CRUSADER, the opportunity to view the video of the race to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner, OH SUNDAY. After viewing the video, L. Cassidy advised stewards he did not wish to proceed with the matter and correct weight was subsequently semaphored on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

DOMRAS (K. Wharton) and FRAGAR (S. Wiseman) were both slow into stride.

MISS SANCTITY (L. Finlay) overraced in the early stages.

K. Fuji, rider of ZAHARAKIS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that leaving the 500m he shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so moved OH SUNDAY (D. Browne) wider on the track, causing that horse to shift out into the rightful running of LAUGHING CRUSADER, causing that horse to be checked. K. Fuji was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 3 March and to expire at midnight, 15 March.

FRAGAR (D. Wiseman) raced wide for the majority of the race and the horse had a tendency to overrace in the early and middle stages of the event.

Approaching the 400m, OH SUNDAY (D. Browne) and LAUGHING CRUSADER (L. Cassidy) were both checked when racing to the inside of ZAHARAKIS (K. Fujii), which shifted out to improve.

Race 2: Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers Benchmark 75 H'cap 1600m
1st – Duel Show 2nd – Maricopa 3rd – Driving Reign 4th – Bell Academy

DRIVING REIGN (G. Killen) and EDDIE RAPIDO (E. Kehoe) raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.

Following the running of this event , stewards interviewed all riders who rode in Race 2 regarding the prevailing track conditions. After considering the riders’ comments, the meeting proceeded accordingly.

Race 3: Worrells Solvency & Forensic Accounts Maiden H'cap – 1100m
1st – Hayshar 2nd – Rockin Party 3rd – Supa Mega Deadly 4th – Bucket Of Cash

HAYSHAR (S. Drake) was tightened for room on jumping away between ROCKIN PARTY (L. Cassidy), which shifted in, and SUPA MEGA DEADLY (G. Geran), which shifted out after beginning awkwardly.

A short distance after the start, SUPA MEGA DEADLY had to be steadied when overracing at the heels of TUSKEGEE HAWK (S. Wiseman).

Near the 400m, SUPA MEGA DEADLY again had to be restrained after it improved onto the heels of BUCKET OF CASH (K. Gates).

ROCKIN PARTY (L. Cassidy) raced 3 wide throughout.

Race 4: Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy QTIS 3yo Maiden H'cap - 1000m
1st – Richmond Grove 2nd – Sine Timore 3rd – Dash For Dollar 4th – Don’t Tell Cyril

DON’T TELL CYRIL (R. McMahon) began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with DASH FOR DOLLAR (N. Thomas), which was also slow to begin.

RICHMOND GROVE (T. Bell) hung out and had to be steadied approaching the 800m when racing between SINE TIMORE (E. Wilkinson) and I’M OVER IT (D. Missen). DASH FOR DOLLAR (N. Thomas), which was following, blundered and became awkward for a few strides when being restrained from the heels of RICHMOND GROVE.

Approaching the 200m, DON’T TELL CYRIL (R. McMahon) had to be steadied when tightened for room between I’M OVER IT and RICHMOND GROVE, which shifted in under pressure.

LADY RUTHERFORD (K. Gates) hung out for the majority of the event.

Race 5: Aitken Legal F & M Class 1 H'cap - 1000m
1st – Lady Gower 2nd – Lady Fleming 3rd – Russian Royalty 4th – Bingo Betty

Apprentice S. Arnold was reprimanded for failing to claim his full allowance on MISS LEGON.

BINGO BETTY was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers after blood was detected in the mouth of that horse. BINGO BETTY was subsequently cleared to race.

Leaving the 300m, RUSSIAN ROYALTY (E. Kehoe) had to be eased wider on the track to avoid the heels of LADY FLEMING (E. Wilkinson).

LADY FLEMING lost its tongue-tie during the event.

A post-race veterinary examination of FLORIADE, which raced wide throughout, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 6: Ferguson Cannon Lawyers CG&E Class 1 H'cap - 1000m
