Jockey M. Lister's explanation for failing to honour his commitment on GO REETA in the Rebecca Pike Handicap at the SCTC on the 9th May 1999 was accepted.
RACE 1
LORD REIMS HANDICAP 1000 metres
Due to transport difficulties M. Cahill was unable to fulfil his engagement on JEWEL COUNTY and was subsequently replaced by G. Doughty.
HEAVENLY CREEK which was fractious in the barriers was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.
ROBELLINO was slow to begin.
ALLEZ RIVAGE jumped away awkwardly and shifted in hampering HEAVENLY GOLD.
HEAVENLY CREEK shifted out abruptly at the start making heavy contact with JEWEL COUNTY which shifted out hampering IGNATIUS STAR and POSITION.
Approaching the 800 metres NICKLIN WAY had to be steadied off the heels of SO RADICAL which shifted in.
Approaching the 600 metres GRAND HERMITAGE shifted out and made heavy contact with NO SHOW.
RACE 2
OUR POMPEII HANDICAP 1000 metres
FRISKY STAR which was fractious in the barriers, jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
ALLUVIUM was slow to begin.
NEVADA JIM jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with the hind quarters of BELLECKO.
NEW PRIDE shifted in on jumping away and brushed CITICHY then became unbalanced and shifted out hampering HANNAH MAGIC.

RACE 3
JUST A DASH SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES HANDICAP 1200 metres
DAWN LANDING refused to jump with the field, shifted out abruptly and ran to the outside fence almost dislodging its rider A. Pattillo. Trainer T. Joseph was advised a further barrier certificate must be obtained for DAWN LANDING prior to its next race start.
LET'S JIVE was slow to begin.
After jumping away awkwardly DUSTY CHIEF shifted out and made contact with TE RANGATIRA.
SIR JUDE had to be checked near the 250 metres when tightened for room by JUDE'S AFFAIR when that horse was taken in by DAWN LANDING which shifted in abruptly to avoid the heels of FULL OF IDEAS. Jockey A. Pattillo rider of DAWN LANDING was reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount in this incident.
TE RANGATIRA was held up for a clear run behind the tiring DUSTY CHIEF from the 200 metres until approaching the 100 metres.
Following the running of Race 3 the track rating was upgraded to Dead.
RACE 4
SUBZERO HANDICAP 1600 metres
Trainer J. P. Wallace was fined the sum of $25 for presenting PRINCE RAUTAI without a tongue tie.
Trainer W. Thornton was also fined the sum of $25 for presenting OGANARA without blinkers.
KRONA WALK was held up for a clear run for some distance in the straight.
RACE 5
GRAND SCALE HANDICAP 1600 metres
LET YOUR HAIR DOWN made the 800 metres turn awkwardly taking SIGH NO MORE out on to ASTRAL JOIE.
Trainer G. Rogerson's representative K. Robinson was advised that STREET STAR, which bled for the first time, will now be banned from racing for the mandatory period of three months.
RACE 6
HYPERNO HANDICAP 1000 metres
As R. Thomas was indisposed he was replaced on BOY'S AFFAIR by J. Taylor.
MALTESE EDITION was slow to begin.
DERNIER TYCOON jumped away awkwardly.
On jumping away BOY'S AFFAIR shifted in and made contact with AROGANT SON.
Passing the 800 metres DERNIER TYCOON had to be restrained off the heels of SAHARA BIONIC.

Race 6 Contd.
Near the 600 metres DERNIER TYCOON had to be steadied when tightened for room between MALTESE EDITION and SAHARA BIONIC both of which shifted ground.
A short distance later BOY'S AFFAIR had to be steadied off the heels of DERNIER TYCOON which shifted in.
Apprentice S. Morris rider of SAHARA BIONIC was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out over the concluding stages forcing ROY'S FOLLY wider on the track.
MALTESE EDITION lost the near hind plate in running.
RACE 7
RECKLESS HANDICAP 1300 metres
A post race Veterinary inspection of ROSENEATH JESTER which raced disappointingly, failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 8
RAIN LOVER HANDICAP 1200 metres
PRISTINE RIVER was slow to begin.
All winners plus STREET STAR (Race 5) were swabbed.
