RACE 1
CALOUNDRA BOOKMAKERS HANDICAP 1000 metres

BE STRONG jumped away awkwardly and shifted in hampering CONSUMING Shortly after the start GOING FOR GOLD had to be checked to avoid the heels of JAZZAD which shifted in abruptly. As a result of this DEAR KEYNETON was inconvenienced and GOING FOR GOLD was inclined to get its head in the air and over race Near the 600 metres BE STRONG shifted in momentarily tightening the running of SOLAR COUNTY, Passing the 600 metres; JAZZAD shifted out slightly taking GOING FOR GOLD, COSMIC BANDIT and NEUTRAL SKY wider on the track. Making the home turn MEDOWIE GOLD shifted out to improve taking COSMIC BANDIT and NEUTRAL SKY wider on the track After passing the 100 incites GOING FOR GOLD was disappointed tor a run to the inside of CONSUMING.

RACE 2
THE SUNDAY MAIL PLATE 1300 metres

B. Stewart rider of POETIC GARDEN arid T. Pattillo rider of KALUGER were both reprimanded fur being late leaving the jockeys room prior to the event. MUSICAL TOTE which reared and became cast over the banners was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start. MUSICAL TOTE jumped in at the start inconveniencing METELOT and TROPICAL SPLENDOUR Near the 700 metres POETIC GARDEN shifted in slightly and made slight contact with MUSICAL TOTE which shifted in taking IF YOU PLEASE in on to SHADOW SHOOTER which had to be checked. Trainer D Gafa was advised that a barrier certificate must be obtained for MUSICAL TOTE and the filly must also pass an official trial prior to its next race stag.

RACE 3
NOOSA TRUSS HANDICAP 1600 metres

When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of KILAMANJARO trainer L. Brunt stated that whilst he had added a tongue tie to the gelding's gear he felt that KILAMANJARO appreciated the drop to Provincial class today.

RACE 4
CROWN LAGER HANDICAP 1600 metres

Following a telephone call from trainer D. Mullins LORD KALA was declared a late scratching at 12.47pm by order (if the Stewards. S. Katsidis was dislodged from MACROSTRIKE prior to the event.

RACE 5
RYDGES OASIS RESORT HANDICAP 1000 metres

Jockey 3. Taylor rider of PAY THE GOLD was reprimanded for being late leaving the jockeys room prior to the event. HOME TEAM was slow to begin. When questioned regarding HOME TEAM losing ground in the early stages jockey C. Reith explained that after jumping away awkwardly the gelding became unbalanced for some distance after the start. Trainees representative J. Noud reported that it was not expected HOME TEAM to be back at the rear of the field and it was anticipated the gelding would race handier over longer distances.

RACE 6
DIET COKE HANDICAP 1200 metres

ROCKET WHEEL was hampered on jumping away between OH WHAT A DANCER and PARDONS which shifted ground. Near the 300 metres ROCKET WHEEL had to be steadied off the heels of the tiring TIGHT SQUEEZE A short distance later ROCKET WHEEL shifted out to improve and as held up for a clear run. Approaching the 100 me" ROCKET WHEEL was tightened for room between TIGHT SQUEEZE and CORNWALL BAY which shifted in slightly. 1 he Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that TIGHT SQUEEZE sprung the near fore plate in running rig.

RACE 7
BLACKLAW CIVIL CONTRACTORS HANDICAP 1200 metres

MURTAKE and KARNATAKA made heavy contact on jumping away. When questioned concerning the seemingly disappointing performance of VELVETY trainer J. Hawkes' representative explained that the Filly was having its first run after a lengthy spell today and was placed further back in the field than anticipated. He also explained that he was not entirely disappointed with the run today as he felt the horse ran on fairly over the concluding stages, A post race Veterinary examination of VELVETY fabled to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 8
CALOUNDRA RSL HANDICAP

ASPEN VALLEY was slow to begin. BRAND NEW pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event. Apprentice A. Morrison rider of HAMAKI reported that the saddle slipped forward at the 600 metres and at the 500 metres HAMAKI shifted in and brushed the running rail.

All winners were swabbed.
