GENERAL: Stewards permitted apprentices T Hill to forego his engagements due to personal
commitments T. Hill was subsequently replaced on the following:
Race 1 HARD BID Apprentice Y. Oto
Race 4 LAMBADA QUEEN Apprentice D. Sullivan

As D, Craven was indisposed he was replaced on the following.
Race 5 WA WA NEE S. Shield
Race 8 FROGMAN S. Killen

RACE 1
LAKE MAGELLAN I HANDICAP 1000 metres

Trainer D. McCaul was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required for TOKYO CUT which was very slow to begin. When questioned regarding the poor performance of TERRAZO jockey G, Duffy stated that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the slow conditions of the track today. A post race Veterinary examination of TERRAZO failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 2
WIN NEWS HANDICAP 1000 metres
LOVE ME NOT jumped away awkwardly.
EMMA'S LODGE was a little slow to begin.

RACE 3
PUMICESTONE PASSAGE HANDICAP 1000 Metres

The start was delayed when both EMINENT CHEVAL and LITTLE HERB were hard to load
into the barriers.
Trainer Peter Brennan (LITTLE 1 HERB) and trainer Bruce McLachlan (EMINENT CHEVAL)
were advised that a warning has been placed on their respective prior to their barrier
manners,
GO SANDY was slow to begin.
LITTLE HERB jumped away awkwardly and shifted out hampering MISCONSTRUE,
EMINENT CHEVAL. and PALTROW.


RACE 4
LAMEROUGH CREEK PLATE 1600 metres

WAY ROYALE and LAUNCESTON were both slow to begin. When the pace slackened in the middle stages of the event LAUNCESTON raced ungenerously and threw its head in the air on several occasions,

DEEPWATER POINT PLATE 1200 metres

Trainer 1. Read wag fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for 14ELLCAT by the required time. FALCON KNIGHT and MY DECOR were both slow to begin. YUMSING jumped in at the start hampering PRINCESS SERAPH. Approaching the 800 metres SPRING LOVE, R shifted out and had to he steadied off the heels of IGNITED. Near the 100 metres POETIC GARDEN had to be checked off the heels of HELLCAT which shifted out abruptly.

RACE 6
BELLS CREEK HANDICAP 1000 metres

Trainer L. Faber was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for PEARL CAVIAR by the required time. DAWN LANDING and BALLY ROBYN were both slow to begin. Approaching the 800 metres PEARL CAVIAR shifted out slighty inconveniencing FAST FLORIST and SALTWATER AVENUE.

DAWN LANDING which was following was inclined to lay in and struck the heels of SALTWATER AVENUE and blundered. A post race Veterinary examination of SALTWATER AVENUE revealed the filly had sustained deep lacerations to the near hind.

RACE 7
CALOUNDRA R.S.L. HANDICAP 1000 metres
On jumping away BERN RETURN and DELTA LAD were both tightened between LATIN
QUARTER and TRUST CLIFF which was taken in by ROMAN NEWS.
After passing the 800 metres ROMAN NEWS laid in taking TRUST CLIFF in on to the hind
quarters of LATIN QUARTER resulting in TRUST CLIFF having to be steadied


RACE 8
CALOUNDRA CITY NFORMA71ON CENTRE I HANDICAP 1300 metres

Trainer R. Lipp was fined the sum of $50 for failing to withdraw STARSHO by the required time. The gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching at 8.20am. TOTAL POSSESSION shi fled out at the start and brushed JUST STYLE. When being steadied off the heels of FORCED ASHORE making the 900 metres BAGPIPE BLUES shifted in inconveniencing MALIBU. A post race Veterinary examination of SHOMATAR which was a little fractious in the barriers, revealed the gelding sustained a laceration to the tongue. A post race Veterinary examination of BAGPIPE BLUES failed to reveal any abnormality.

All winners were swabbed.
