TRACK RATING: Good
Moveable rail out 5 metres for the entire circumference.

GENERAL: As A. Gillett was indisposed he was replaced on BALLN LAD (Race 1) by S. Killen and on JE NE SAIS QUOI (Race 3) by D. Tanti.

Re: Adjourned inquiry – SCTC 24th September 2000: Trainer B. McLachlin was fined the sum of $100 for presenting MISCELLANEA into the enclosure with the incorrect gear.

Re: Adjourned inquiry – Apprentice L. Cronin was fined the sum of $100 for failing to fulfil her engagement. on JUDICIAL MISS at Bundaberg on 30th September 2000.

RACE 1
ALLROAD SURFACES HANDICAP 1200 metres

After jumping away awkwardly JESTICA shifted in and made contact with STARS IN BARS.
Near the 900 metres JESTICA had to be steadied off the heels of BALLN LAD which shifted in.
After passing the 800 metres STARS IN BARS shifted in on its own accord and made heavy contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.

RACE 2
HORSE OF THE YEAR HANDICAP 1000 metres

ACE CLUB was slow to begin.
On jumping away MIA PIPER was tightened between KEEP COMING and MURTAKA both of which shifted ground.
Rounding the home turn ROYAL ENTOURAGE shifted in momentarily and made contact with SHOW DEFIANCE which became unbalanced.

RACE 3
SUNSHINE COAST RACING AWARDS HANDICAP 1800 metres

HE’S THE MAN was slow to begin.
JE NE SAIS QUOI jumped away awkwardly.

RACE 4
TREVOR MILLER HANDICAP 1200 metres

JODI’S DANCER shifted in and made contact with PERFECT AFFAIR on jumping away.
Rounding the home turn PERFECT AFFAIR was held up for a clear run.
Near the 300 metres OPAL ICE shifted out to improve and made contact with STINGING which became inconvenienced and shifted out. PERFECT AFFAIR which was following had to be steadied for some distance to avoid the heels of STINGING. K. Pope rider of OPAL ICE was advised he must be fully clear when shifting ground in future.

RACE 5
YOKO OTA HANDICAP 1400 metres

BOOM CENTURY was slow to begin.
RUSS jumped in at the start hampering SHARJULES.

OBSTRUCTION and ARC DE TRIOMPHE made contact on jumping away.
Shortly after the start M. Tarrant rider of TAHINI MISS accidentally dropped his whip.
Near the 1300 metres OBSTRUCTION shifted out taking ARC DE TRIOMPHE and BENEDIYM wider on the track. POETIC OAK which was following had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BENEDIYM.
Rounding the home turn LE LOCK improved up on to the heels of BENEDIYM and had to be checked.

RACE 6
SCOTT SEAMER HANDICAP 1600 metres

MANAWATU was slow to begin.
When the pace slackened after passing the 1400 metres SEAWELL commenced to race fiercely for a short distance.

RACE 7
WOODLANDS STUD SYNDICATEHANDICAP 1400 metres

FLYING FEATHERS was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn until the winning post. A post race Veterinary examination of FLYING FEATHERS failed to reveal any abnormality clinically however trainer Bill Jackson was advised that the gelding’s teeth needed attention.

RACE 8
CALOUNDRA R.S.L. PLATE 1000 metres

Trainer I. O’Neill was fined the sum of $50 for failing to have the ownership papers for TOUCH OF SCOTCH in order.
Due to transport difficulties apprentice D. Johnston was unable to fulfil his engagement on GRACE’S KIN and was subsequently replaced by apprentice L. Cronan.
GRACE’S KIN jumped away awkwardly.
SABAI SABAI was slow to begin.
HARTSYN and ROCKET RANGE came together at the start.
A short distance after the start SMOKEY HALO, GRACE’S KIN and PASSING TIME were all hampered between SAHARA SNAADEE and CAREFUL CHOICE both of which shifted ground.
Passing the 600 metres GRACE’S KIN had to be steadied off the heels of TOUCH OF SCOTCH which shifted out slightly.




All winners were swabbed.
