GENERAL: As J. Byrne was indisposed he was replaced on the following:
Race 2 ZERO RULES G. Colless
Race 3 ARTIST’S TOUCH S. Seamer
Race 4 PYLADES S. Seamer
Race 5 HAGAR THE HORRIBLE S. Seamer
Race 6 PILLION N. Day
Race 7 MURTAKA S. Katsidis

As apprentice Ms B. Carne was also indisposed she was replaced on HAPPY D’OR (Race 7) by Y. Ota and on NABIRAE (Race 8) by K. Yoshida.

As the transport in which MISS TIFFANY (Race 6), RELEVANCE (Race 7) and TENNESSEE WEST (Race 8) broke down en route to the track the above horses were all inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon on arrival and all were passed fit to start.

Re: QTC Meeting – November 18th 2000 - Jockey D. Craven was fined the sum of $100 for being overweight on BELLE OF SHEBA.

RACE 1
EUDLO CREEK NATIONAL PARK HANDICAP 1200 metres

SHOW GOLD was declared a late scratching at 12.26pm by order of the Stewards. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SHOW GOLD were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 11c in the dollar on the face value of both win and place bets being applicable.
Trainer Merv. Welch was subsequently fined the sum of $200 under AR 141A (d) for failing to have SHOW GOLD shod in accordance with the rules.
VON GALA was slow to begin.
BELLECKO jumped away awkwardly.
When racing greenly approaching the 200 metres FLY BOY shifted out causing VON GALA, which was following, to be steadied and alter course to the inside.

RACE 2
GREAT SANDY NATIONAL PARK HANDICAP 1200 metres

BLEVIC STAR was slow to begin.
I. Coombes rider of ROCKY ICE accidentally dropped his whip after passing the 1100 metes.
Near the 850 metres THE MOSSY BANK KID had to be checked when tightened for room between SMOKE JENSEN and ROCKY ICE which shifted out when racing greenly.
Near the 200 metres BANKONGO shifted out and made contact with MERCURE causing that gelding to shift out and be steadied off the heels of ST. ANTON. Apprentice K. Yoshida rider of BAKONGO was reprimanded over this incident and advised to exercise more care in future.

Following the running of Race 2 the track was upgraded to GOOD.

RACE 3
BEACON LIGHTHOUSE RESERVE HANDICAP 1200 metres

Prior to the start MAGS lunged forward and made contact with the front of the barrier and after being released and inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon MAGS was passed fit to start.
ARTIST’S TOUCH raced ungenerously in the early and middle stags of the event
Approaching the 1100 metres BIBIANNA CHARIOT had to be checked to avoid the heels of TESSARA which shifted in and away from LINEA. N. Day rider of LINEA was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in acutely when not clear of TESSARA.

Race 3 Contd..
A short distance later GRAND DIVA and MAGS had to be steadied to avoid the heels of TESSARA which shifted in. M. Crawford rider of TESSARA was reprimanded and advised he must be fully clear when shifting ground in future.
When racing fiercely approaching the 800 metres SOUND OF THE SEA shifted out taking BIBIANNA CHARIOT wider on the track. PRICE TO PAY and ALWAYS TRUMPS which were following were both hampered in this incident.
L. Deguara rider of STALWART ZEPH accidentally dropped her whip at the 200 metres.

RACE 4
MERIDAN PLAINS CONSERVATION PARK HANDICAP 1300 metres

STAR MINER was slow to begin.
OISHEEN jumped away awkwardly and shifted out making contact with the hind quarters of PYLADES.
IMPOSITION pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event.

RACE 5
MOOLOOLAH RIVER NATIONAL PARK HANDICAP 1400 metres

PARTASAN was slow to begin.

RACE 6
MT COOLUM NATIONAL PARK HANDICAP 1600 metres

MISS TIFFANY and LONGREACH were both slow to begin.
DAWN BREAKER jumped away awkwardly and shifted in making contact with NUTSHELL.
When the pace slackened approaching the first turn NUTSHELL had to be steadied off the heels of PHYLSON and shifted out taking CLASSIC KIWI LIP wider on the track.
After passing the 300 metres DAWN BREAKER had to alter course to the inside of the tiring NUTSHELL.
When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of MISS TIFFANY jockey S. Katsidis stated that after being a little slow to begin the filly had a good run throughout the event however when placed under pressure in the straight MISS TIFFANY failed to respond.
A post race Veterinary examination of MISS TIFFANY failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 7
FERNTREE CREEK NATIONAL PARK HANDICAP 1400 metres

AMENDS, SHOMATAR and MY LYSANDER LAD were all slow to begin.
The saddle on VOWORANA shifted forward near the 800 metres placing its rider Ms. A Raby at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
Apprentice K. Yoshida had to stop riding and straighten AMENDS approaching the 100 metres when the mare was inclined to shift in under pressure

RACE 8
KEYSER ISLAND CONSERVATION PARK HANDICAP 1000 metres

LUNCHTIME BLUES jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
FLYING SATIN and TENNESSEE WEST were both slow to begin.



All winners were swabbed.
